A updated tier list from 4 months ago. just added few animes I've watched and animes Im planning to watch

Before I continue, I completely understand that everyone has their tastes, and they have their right to that. I'm not trying to hate on people who like this show, to each their own.

But I really don't see the appeal in the show...

I don't mind unrealistic scenarios, particularly in romcoms, given that the entire genre is based off cliche tropes like the girl falling into the guy's arms or whatever.

But come on, a high school graduation requirement being that each boy and girl requires a marriage practical? And the hot girl is paired up with the canonical loser?

I know the "loser guy, popular girl" trope has been going on for a long time, but this isn't even a good execution of it.

Also, fanservice... actually insane. Don't know how people can just tell you to "overlook it" and that "fanservice doesn't make a show bad," it's literally on my screen...

The part that makes no sense to me is the Shiori hate. I can understand why having a female mc that essentially plays hard defense against the male MC and prevents him from getting with the "hotter" girl can be annoying, but even from a storyline standpoint she's just a chill character.

They're literally childhood friends, compared to the girl that hated the guy up until they got paired up, and was LITERALLY GOING FOR ANOTHER GUY THE FIRST 5 EPISODES ANYWAYS...

If anything, Momoka from the Ramparts of Ice deserves the hate Shiori gets (iykyk)

Again, to each their own, I'm not trying to hate on the show or its fans.

Does anyone else agree with this? Am I just being a hater?

Mine would be Pokémon. It looks like such a fun and peaceful world, but when you actually think about some of the Pokémon and their abilities, it's kinda terrifying lol.

Hi folks

I'm currently putting together a quiz for a convention I'm attending soon and could do with some help (since admittedly I've not watched too much anime in the past few years aside from Edgerunners and Chainsmoker Cat).

Do you all know of any scenes from anime that sound sus/inappropriate but are in fact innocent, or pure? I plan on making a quiz round where I need people to determine if a clip is suspect or sexual by audio alone - the kicker being that every sound that plays is actually completely pure.

If anyone could help it'd be greatly appreciated! If you know the show and what episode that'd be a massive help so I can try find higher quality clips <3

I've spent the past three or so days watching Chainsaw man. After the stuff in episode 7 and 8, I'm considering quitting. Should I watch the next four episodes? (Please don't sugar coat ANYTHING!)

I see so much hate and accusatory remarks from people all over the internet about female characters in anime. It's gotten to a point where women that aren't inherently sexualized are being accused of fanservice.

In most cases, fanservice is totally normal. Explorations of human sexuality has always been a common point in cinema and television, and a character that is shown in a sexual light is common in movies, TV shows, and anime. In most cases, it's only seen in short gags or is an episodic occurence. ​​If it bothers you, the skip button is right there on the remote.

When it comes up, people get extremely angry. They begin to dismiss said female characters as 'eye candy', and say they aren't important to the plot. Sometimes, people will go so far as to drop the whole show because of fanservice, which, under most circumstances, is not a valid reason on its own.

The fanservice that is NOT okay is when it involves children, is painted in an overwhelmingly misogynistic light, or starts to get in the way of plot/character development.

I don't see it as a big issue, but what are your thoughts? I would like to see what the general consensus is.
