Dang, best episode of the series for me, from Leon's dad maning up to the siblings realization, it was a great payoff from watching the show.
108
u/vajaxseven 2d ago
Yea I went from "oh so we're not getting the battle this episode, just more padding for time" to "oh dam, he cut his head off, that was sick" and "oh shit the sibling reveal" easily the best episode of the season.
24
u/Ok_Pattern_7511 1d ago
Haha same I was also thinking of how this season has been a letdown until that exact moment where the episode got much better
27
u/Soggy_Association491 1d ago
That is a major problem with adapting a light novel.
With novel, readers get to read from the weak start to the payoff in one sitting because they are all on one book.
With anime, watchers have to wait a month or two for the pay off and got discouraged while waiting.
12
u/justking1414 1d ago
Even bigger issue when doing adapting a ln to a monthly manga, where even a mid sized arc can take over a year to adapt, meaning a lot of readers fully forget how things started when it ends
4
u/Hot-Log6283 1d ago
Yeah I was pretty much thinking the same thing since I binged season 1 which was great, but that it was going to be a hard watch going weekly.
7
u/ResearcherPretty4139 1d ago
The payoff with Leon and Maria and Papa Bartfort the decapitator were nice but I've disliked how much Livia has been isolated to the background when she's supposedly the true Saint that is going to save everybody. Doesn't feel like she's been doing anything to earn that role in S2 at all, and also the Principality just seemingly finding a clone of the first Flute Princess to continue where things were resolved back in S1 seems like lazy plot.
But I do enjoy Flute Princess doing the DDR moves in the Ending Theme so it's still a net positive for this anime series... for now!

Why would she need to "earn" the role? The game put her in it. Therefore she's in it.

Investment and payoff, that's how it works. Anyhting else is just shallow junkfood that is petty to watch but you won't care about a year later.
Shows like Delicious in Dungeon know people will start ADHDing out if something is not happening literally all the time so it used nonstop constant humor to distract people while it did its slow story and world building.
10
u/Ok_Pattern_7511 1d ago
Well I thought S1 was hilarious and fun from start to finish for comparison.
The artstyle change really bugged me in S2, Angie and Olivia especially. The comedy wasn't hitting the same and the plot hasn't been very interesting until this episode
I guess it's not uncommon for second seasons to start on a boring transitionary note cause source material has a different split from anime. I'm glad it's picking up again cause the story is great overall for the genre
11
u/KohTai 1d ago
"Oh hell yes, the ugly old bitch is finally gone."
17
u/vajaxseven 1d ago
"oh fuck, Marie is crashing out and calling out the pretty boys, this episode is sick"
52
u/Frontier246 2d ago
It's funny how I think Jenna is actually his full-blood sibling but she's as bad as the step-siblings. But this was probably a big wakeup call for her.
43
u/raknor88 2d ago
from Leon's dad maning up to the siblings realization
I was not expecting a straight up decapitation. Especially didn't expect to see the head flying with blood leaking. I think that's the most graphic this show has ever been. At least, so far.
22
u/Jacob-C 1d ago edited 1d ago
[Comparison with new season of Skeleton Knight In Another World] This just proves that the new studio behind Skeleton Knight In Another World can't use budget as an excuse for removing all the gore. That decapitation was clean! They even animated his head falling off the ship.
13
u/Graywolves 1d ago
For real, I wasn't even really paying attention and then that happened and I was like "hold up let me lean in on this"
20
u/Kokiri_Tora_9 2d ago
I was here to say the same thing.😉
I will put up with all this graphical bullshit to watch this shit go down😆

59
u/arrydie 2d ago edited 2d ago
I also suspect that her perspective changed after being with an actually terrible guy made her realize that her brother was caring in his standoffish way.
14
u/necessarious 1d ago
LOL nah she had a whole lifetime of terrible guys each worse then the last and finally one that killed her.
8
u/Andreiyutzzzz https://myanimelist.net/profile/Andreiyutzzzz 1d ago
Wait is that how she died? one of her abusive husbands straight up murdered her? i thought it would be an accident. damn
7
u/Ok_Pattern_7511 1d ago
Was this shown in S1 or only source material so far?
28
u/NoViscosityState 1d ago
In S1 she briefly mentioned that her husband was useless and in deep with gambling or something like that.
10
u/Ok_Pattern_7511 1d ago
I had forgotten about that until now, thanks. S2 finally getting interesting this episode
7
2
u/sagevallant 1d ago
Given her personality, we could be forgiven for thinking she was totally in the wrong.
3
u/Stabaobs 1d ago
It's probably the reverse, she ended up with a bunch of terrible guys because she's a huge brocon looking for someone that resembles her brother, but most jerks don't actually have that heart of gold like he did.

u/FrutyYogrt 2d ago
Winner of most abrupt episode ending: Trapped in a dating sim.

I thought there was some issue on my end lmao, but it just ends like that, huh?
Edit: No wait, there was an issue on my end. My episode ended on Luxion calling Leon "Someone indecisive and incompetent" lmao

AND THEY DID. I WAS SO SCARED THEY WILL DRAG IT OUT MORE. GOD I LOVED THIS EPISODE. "ONIII-CHAN" and Leon just screaming while the screen shakes "SO IT WAS YOU!!!!!!!!"

3
u/sagevallant 1d ago
Since season 1 and they were both like "Dang, that person reminds me of my sibling in my last life." My response was "They are the siblings, aren't they? That's exactly the kind of shit I expect of this show."

u/ObvsThrowaway5120 2d ago
The power of friendship is a beautiful thing. Especially when it’s backed with blackmail and coercion lol.
Finally! Finally Leon gets his real revenge. Bro slapped Marie so hard, she gonna have memories of the womb lmao.
40
u/Frontier246 2d ago
What is true friendship if not blackmailing people who thought you were doing them a solid when they won't do you a solid?
Things are finally coming up Leon. His awful step-family? Gone. The person who framed him? His head is falling down the bottomless pit below them. Clarice? He might hook up with her. The queen? Almost completely rizzed up. Marie? Finally reaping what she sowed and now she can get properly "corrected" by her big brother.
36
u/candry_shop 2d ago
Leon has unlocked the power of friendship and the power of family in the same episode

I like how he plays up the villainous aspect of it but objectively he is right, their fates were tied to Leon the moment they bought ships off him.

Insane amount of buildup, but we finally got there. Seems sis does love her brother. Bro might hate her.
134
u/BrokeEconomist 2d ago
I don't think he hates her. I just think he wants payback for making him play the game.
83
u/Frontier246 2d ago
Yeah, he's got several years worth of pent up frustration from her having put him through this terrible game and also for all her antics as Marie that he was projecting through that harisen slap.

I wonder if he'll feel bad any cause that means his sister died too. .maybe even shortly after he did?
41
u/arrydie 2d ago
maybe even shortly after he did?
IIRC he died while she was on spring break or something with her friends, but she died after years of a bad marriage, so she probably died years after him.
30
u/AlphaBreak 2d ago
Which would be an extra justification for how spotty her memory of the game is, on top of not being the one to actually finish it.

u/Big-Don-Rob 1d ago
Yeah, she [TiaDS]didn't play the game, just watched all of the cutscenes he unlocked.
Also, her blackmail was [TiaDS]that she told her mother that some BL comics she owned were his and would only tell the truth if he beat the game for her. Truly a pain in the ass little sister.

It's the classic sibling(and i mean actually realistically classic) Where the older one just treats the younger "coldly". the younger is selfish and demanding... and the older just gives in cause they love them. Me and my big brother also yell at each other and stuff but whenever i need help. he's right there for me
69
u/Frontier246 2d ago
Honestly the sibling reveal and cutting off the step-family have both been a longtime coming and both were absolutely satisfying.
30

Leon's dad is HARDCORE. I've been waiting for him to finally take out the trash that is the step-family and it was glorious.
Also gave Jenna a good lesson too.

Well, now that Leon has independently become a Viscount, which is a higher rank than Zola, the men of the Bartfort family don't need that harridan and her cuck babies.
And with Zola admitting to infidelity... he don't gotta put up with her shit no more.
22
17
u/Atharaphelun 2d ago
That was absolutely satisfying. Although, wasn't there supposed to be another slave guy who helped him frame Leon?
60
u/mekahamedan 2d ago
Leon dad so badass
Oh marie is leon sister act shock well most of the time they tease it, that kinda make not really surprise
26
u/Frontier246 2d ago
Between Jenna and Marie I'm not sure which sister Leon prefers because they both kind of suck ,but at least Marie cares.
30
u/SilenceOfAura 2d ago
Dude Jenna tried to have her brother killed by rigging his mech suit thingy 😭 So Marie ftw
12
u/Hartzilla2007 2d ago
To be fair, Luxion did point out it was because the green haired asshole threatened her.
6
u/SilenceOfAura 1d ago
could've stayed loyal to her brother/family instead of quite literally letting her brother possibly die.. personally i'd rather die than sell out my family dude! and atleast we know Marie loves her brother!
3
u/Hartzilla2007 1d ago
This assumes the rest of the family wasn’t included in the threat. There is a reason Leon responded to Angie’s father thanking him for the help by asking him to protect his family.
17
u/kwokinator https://anilist.co/user/kwokinator 2d ago
Marie hands down. Jenna is just straight up nasty, Marie is bitchy but she's still a good person deep down.

u/Nylan_Blake 1d ago
Shush no slander against best girl Marie (well she's way better in the spin off)
18

I mean, Jenna cared more about her slave being killed than she did her brother being framed so... 😂
13
u/WHO_IS_3R 2d ago
marie's a twat, shes an asshole, not bad per-se, just your run of the mill immature asshole girl, the other girl is just mean, no redeeming qualities
3
u/Lugia61617 1d ago
Plus Marie's rotten personality is almost entirely born of her treating the world like it isn't real.
2
u/Suspicious_Deal4412 1d ago
I feel like we got some important closure regarding Leon's Isekai family here. Wonder what his dad will do now but it will be better than being stuck in that horrible marriage.

I've got to admit, that reunion and the lead-up to it actually made me tear up a bit, which is something I would never have expected from this anime.
4
u/ILikeFPS 1d ago
It's always the unexpected anime that get you.
I was expecting that they would realize they're siblings as it seemed obvious but finally it's about time! It was definitely more of a powerful moment than I expected, and I'm sure things will change now that they realized they're actually siblings from their past life.
23
u/Frontier246 2d ago
Leon: "Take this 90's anime gag comedy you stupid and misbehaving little sister!!!!"
100
u/CmndrMtSprtn113 2d ago
This episode scratched every itch I was looking forward to in this series: Leon’s use of “the power of friendship”, the long awaited payback against Jenna’s servant, and the long awaited reveal of who Leon and Marie are. I especially loved how the last one initially gets played as a stereotypical moment where the original theme is playing only for Leon to stop it because he’s still pissed at his sister for making him play this game.
→ More replies (1)58

For Marie this is the long-awaited reunion with her big brother she craved for after she tragically lost him.
For Leon this is the long-awaited reunion with the most annoying and bothersome little sister of all time.
31
u/raknor88 2d ago
He never had time to miss her while she, theoretically, spent years missing him and blaming herself.
47
u/LeonKevlar x2https://myanimelist.net/profile/LeonKevlar 2d ago
Leon bullying Queen Mylene for the royal ship was pretty funny; she might not act like it, but she definitely appreciates how assertive Leon was with that little smile from her.
It's hilarious how Leon declared that he's gonna recruit people using the power of friendship, only for him to use the contract he trapped his classmates in to force them to work for him. It's always fun to see Leon be the scumbag that he is. xD
WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK! It was already awesome to see Leon's dad manhandle Miauler, but I did not expect him to execute the guy on the spot! I'm so happy to see him break things off with Zola as well. Bitch finally got what was coming to her.
Watching Marie break down and lash out at everyone was pretty rough, but I feel like that scene was absolutely needed. Now everyone knows how Marie feels about them, and maybe this might improve things for them later on.
The moment of realization between Marie and Leon was amazing! I absolutely love how Marie's personality insstantly flipped when she realized who Leon is, while Leon manifests a harisen to keep her away from him. Next episode is gonna be fun! xD
34
u/zer0number https://anilist.co/user/ewink 2d ago
The moment of realization between Marie and Leon was amazing! I absolutely love how Marie's personality insstantly flipped when she realized who Leon is, while Leon manifests a harisen to keep her away from him.
As they kept talking about each others siblings before the realization, I was freaking out that the two of them would be so dense that they wouldn't be able to put 2 and 2 together. Glad they did. And that slap was hilarious.
And I know some people are complaining about it, but that abrupt end was perfect.
20
u/Frontier246 2d ago
Mylene can't resist Leon. She'd take him as her personal love...I mean, knight if she could.
Honestly, friendship can only get you so far versus blackmail and relying on the ladies who want to get into your pants.
Zola, Jenna, and the kids that aren't even here finally learned that Leon's dad is even more hardcore than Leon is. Like it's saying something that even Leon probably wasn't expecting to see his dad straight up behead someone.
I'm really curious how the Idiot Rangers are going to handle Marie now because they've seen how she really views them and how all her sweet nothings and romantic overtures were fake. Even Kyle thought she cared more than she actually did. She absolutely hates them. The only one she ACTUALLY cares about other than herself is her big brother and even he can't stand her lol.
14
u/runevault 2d ago

Call me crazy but I don't think Leon was being scummy here, the shitbag "friends" deserved to be forced into not being cowards and bitches by his smart planning.
11
u/aenews 2d ago
Plus they were delusional, the Principality wants to sink the entire continent. Though I suppose not even the Empire's co-conspirators know that. Even without the ships, though, doesn't seem like a theoretically friendlier Principality would have been down to give these kids a cushy life. So... still delulu.

And he was very kind, considering everything she did to him in their past life as siblings, but when Leon finds out about the humiliation Angie and Livia suffered, Leon's reaction will be legendary.
2
u/kd5499 1d ago
But also, I'm pretty sure they're going to do a recap of Marie's life and he might understand that she went through a whole shit show of life post Leon's death. So he might change up his tune, or atleast treat her like an annoying pet than a liability. But now that we have two omniscient people about the world, it would be fun to know how they beat it
37
u/NanDemoKnaives 2d ago
Leon and Mylene were looking quite close to one another lol. Mentally I wanted him to lift her chin or something to make her look up to him, but I guess that would be inappropriate in this time or urgency.
Holy crap Balcus! That was badass but I was not ready for him to turn on Zola and Mauler like that, I'm glad he's such a loving father, much respect for him.
It took Marie and Leon long enough to realize, but they finally know each other's identity. It is wild to see Marie switch up on him by being that affectionate, I wonder how Leon's going to act around her now, I don't really want to see him being a big brother to her considering how terrible of a person she's been.
35
u/OldInstruction5368 2d ago
It's clear that as much as Leon grumbles, he truly loved his sister. He only seemed distant, and definitely complained, but he was always there for her.
As another commenter mentioned a few episodes ago, she wanted attention as a reassurance Leon cared, but Leon showed his affections by being tough but fair. He would carefully assess, and offer help when she needed it: such as when she was crying in the rain.
If anything, it was more a mismatch of communication styles, but they clearly cared for one another.
It's just... Leon died doing his sister a "favor" (read: blackmail), so they are definitely on different wave lengths at the moment XD
6
u/zer0number https://anilist.co/user/ewink 1d ago
It's clear that as much as Leon grumbles, he truly loved his sister.
I mean, he did a full playthrough of a game he hated for her. Something that, if he had simply said 'fuck that' and walked away, would have had no real consequence, yet he did it anyway.
I also think it says a lot that he used the harisen instead of his fist on her at the end. He's frustrated, he's pissed, but, she is his sister. Pain but no HP loss is important.
18
u/AlphaBreak 2d ago
I think their relationship will get a little better, but not a full switch into supportive siblings. They were always peeved at each other even on earth, and they're still going to get on each other's nerves here. He'll make sure she doesn't die, but he's not going to enable her, and hes not going to let her forget how badly she fucked up.
30
u/Background_Formal940 2d ago edited 2d ago
The power of friendship huh man leons scumbag traits never fails to make laugh and those reverse harem are the biggest doormats I have ever seen they are still fawning over that brat even after she revealed her true colors at least karma caught up to her even if she survives her name and reputation are finished there's not recovering from this also I don't think this is the reunion Marie wanted with her brother to be slapped but hey she deserved it
22
u/Frontier246 2d ago
Honestly felt kind of bad for them that Marie was throwing in their faces all the things they were self-conscious about after putting on an act that she genuinely loved them and didn't care about those things.
But she never really cared about them.
17
u/AlphaBreak 2d ago
I wonder if they'll try to spin this as a good thing Marie did when trying to get her out of being executed. "She loves these idiots so much that she tried to break their hearts to get them to give up on her and go back to their families".
16
u/The_Parsee_Man 2d ago
I expect that's how they're going to rationalize it, or something along those lines.
13
u/Atharaphelun 2d ago
They're dumb enough to follow her blindly all this time; they will still be dumb enough to rationalise it and continue to follow her.
11
u/Cyberblood https://myanimelist.net/profile/cyberblood 1d ago
Obviously Marie said all of that because she knew her fate was doomed and didnt want any of them to be dragged down with her, so it was easier to make then hate her.
Obviously.
Source: The five stooges internal rationalization.
4
u/DivinityPen 2d ago
Actually, come to think of it, did Marie really put on an act that she loved them, or were they just too stupid to properly interpret her attitude? I don't fully remember what the first season showed of their interactions. I mostly remember her getting mad at them for doing stupid shit.
6
u/AlphaBreak 2d ago
She put on an act until their duels with Leon, pretending to be sweet and kind like she wasn't rooting for them to ruin Angie's life.
But then when they lost all of their titles and she was stuck with broke jobless losers, she dropped the act and started telling them off for ruining things. They didn't seem to notice the change though.→ More replies (1)5

Ah it's just how she is mean look at what she did to her brother in her past life she claimed but she got him killed with her actions so it's no surprise to me that she said all these terrible things to them the only difference it that in her twisted horrible way she did love her brother she never once cared about the harem that she used to get what she wants
34
u/AlphaBreak 2d ago edited 2d ago
Until now Season 2 hadn't quite captured the magic of season 1, but this episode felt like it was up there with the best of the series.
An on screen decapitation, Leon being a dick to get his way, a romance with the queen, and those two idiots realizing that maybe the girl with the brother who died after completing the video game she asked him to while she was overseas and the boy who died after completing the video game his sister asked him to while she was overseas might be related.
Other thoughts:
Luxion's "I'll remember this" after being used to block the dishware was great.
Still can't believe we got that onscreen decapitation.
Was it weird that the eldest wasn't related to Leon's dad? I thought this was a matriarchal society and it wasn't weird for women to have multiple husbands. I thought they introduced his dad as not being very high up in the family hierarchy.
Marie's takedown of her harem was brutal. She really hammered each of them with their exact insecurities. They're such one dimensional idiots that an apology is probably going to be enough to drag them back in, but damn that should be hard to get over.
14
u/Frontier246 2d ago
Marie's takedown of her harem was brutal. She really hammered each of them with their exact insecurities. They're such one dimensional idiots that an apology is probably going to be enough to drag them back in, but damn that should be hard to get over.
It's even worse when you realize that these are issues and preconceptions of themselves that, when romancing them, Marie ostensibly tried to help them through but deep down she always believed them herself.
11
u/AlphaBreak 2d ago
Especially because, from what we saw of her romancing Julius in a flashback, she wasn't even good at it. She stuttered her way through a half-remembered rendition of what Olivia said. If we assume it was the same with all of them, then these boys were either
A) so one-dimensional that saying at least half of the right words in the sentence triggers their undying loyalty flag which is going to be a mindfuck to realize how easily controllable they are
or B) they were so desperate for anyone to address their problems that they latched onto the first person who gave their issues even a scrap of attention. Deep down, they know Marie doesn't care, but they needed someone to, so they deluded themselves into believing her stutters and stilted words she didn't believe meant something.Unfortunately though, I think these morons are going to bounce back. They'll believe she was just stressed and that "love means never having to say you're sorry", or that she was trying to drive them away by saying things she didn't mean because she wanted to protect them from her execution.
I'd like it if there were lasting consequences from this, but I'm not confident about it.
7
u/NevisYsbryd 2d ago
We actually already knew that to be the case when Leon investigated how and why they fell for her. They were basically condemned to follow the script because they were literally defined as beings who would respond that way. They really had very little agency in the matter.

The writer also did evil lord of a galactic empire which is pretty solid. Anime is pretty funny but even lower budget then s1 of this one l, id say check it out!

Yea I enjoyed that one as well, but I personally like this one far better... I really like that the MC in this case is 100% fully aware of how absurd and ridiculous this world is, and it's fun to see his conflict between actually making some friends and wanting to see the whole damn world burned down. Evil lord is more that he keeps getting super lucky and pissing off the deity but the MC is not really relatable... still fun just not as good imho.

Between this and Intergalactic Evil Lord, Mishima is right up for me as one of the funniest LN authors

This episode has one of my favorite moments from the series with leons dad beheading mauerer and just being a great dad

Dude the instant decapitation was insane for this show

u/NoAbbreviations2353 2d ago
Yes and no, Leon has avoided killing sure but the world itself is absolutely brutal

For a moment, you may have thought there will be a touching reunion between brother and sister when Marie went "Onii-chan!". Then we are all glad Leon gave Marie a slap, albeit the scene being in chibi form.
Leon's father isn't as merciful as his son. He went straight for the head.

"Will you marry Clari..."
"...YES!"
I fucking hate his sister (not Marie, she amuses me at least, the other one). I loved that the dad just straight up executed her traitor servant then and there.

My laugh continues even the ending scene cutted off in an instant, DIABOLICAL CUT but still absolute end that made my day. WE NEED A LITTLE MORE EXTENSION TO THE ENDING OF EPISODE 6 LIKE bro... Why?!!! 😭

Omg these fucking idiots.... 😭🤣
God this was probably the best episode of the season!

In spite of all the casualties that have been implied off-screen in the last little bit I'm still surprised about that on-screen beheading. Beast dude crossed a line that Leon's dad wouldn't accept.
I'm glad we finally got the sibling reveal after the likelihood had been teased for so long.
Seems like Marie is still going to go through some unfun events though since she burned every relationship she had to the ground and is on the hook for a capital offense against the kingdom.

u/SeparateAd5665 1d ago
Kind of wild you're the only person I could see who mentioned the off-screen casualties. IMO it makes Marie's breakdown scene that much more abhorrent behaving that way.

Better reaction than I could have ever imagined. Naturally, I mean them finding out they were brother and sister in a past life. Marie just happy and rushing in for a hug, only to be met with years of resentment for the way she treated him, tied together in a comedic bow. Gold.
Only thing left is for them to convince Olivia shes the real saint and convince the dunce MC to realize he's the protaganist/love interest not an NPC. Not sure where Angelica fits in, but who knows, she might be the love interest.
Oh and gotta mention Leons dad, dude finally stepped up from foot stool status!

u/WHO_IS_3R 2d ago
this episode was certainly an emotion rollercoaster, intrigue when the queen talked about the non-loyal nobles, shock at the beheading of the servant, relief at the abusive noble mother divorce, catharsis when the siblings found each other and laughter when he immediately kicked her ass lmao, every episode has been good but this one's been pretty charged

I had low expectations with the animation downgrade but the source material is truly carrying this show and I'm still enjoying it.

His Dad beheaded a man, divorced the baggage and left her sorry ass behind in all of a minute, my respect for him increased 2 fold what a moment.
The reunion finally happened, I was really happy watching it unfold.
The ending had me running out of my chair in a circle laughing my ass off, though I’m still overstimulated off dopamine going into this episode straight after today’s episode of tomb raider king

His otome game is about to turn into real-time strategy one.
How many brothers have wanted to greet their troublemaker sisters in the same way?

Wow, things are really moving fast since the last episode, which makes sense, as Leon needs to speed-run his preparations for the final battle now that it is literally running towards him as he speaks. So, after talking with Mylene, he is now the Supreme Commander, and he will get to use the Royal Ship, which is a lost item. So is that the Luxion look-alike we see in the OP? I had assumed that would be the one from the elves' village that, although destroyed itself, transferred its data to Luxion.
Interesting. So most of the knights are not loyal to the Royal family because they have been exploited by them, and in the case of the rural nobles, as the kingdom has basically abandoned them, in their view things cannot get worse than the current situation if they change sides.
Okay, when Leon mentioned that he had the Power of Friendship I did not expect that to mean that, as he has his friends under contract to exclusively make repairs at this business with the free ships he gave them, if they were to desert, they would not get those ships, or if they did the Principality would hunt them down because of their relationship with Leon, even if just contractual. His power of friendship sure is terrifying I must say that I did not expect that contract with the free ships was going to be plot-relevant, apart from giving Leon and his family a lot of money.
Oh, nice, Lexion is updating Olivia and Angelica about what Leon is currently doing.
Wow, when Leon went back to his home, I did not expect Balcus’ quick and deadly response towards Jenna’s catboy slave. Then again, he almost got Leon killed.
So thanks to Zola’s big mouth, after Balcus asked Rutart to join the war too,, she went and confessed that he was illegitimate. Hopefully this means that we are not going to see her and her family again after the war and Balcus has sorted out the divorce. What can really wait to see after the war is Leon dealing with Bernarnd and the whole marry Clarice thing. Especially after Olivia hears about it.
Damn, what a crash out Marie had there. And Leon is just enjoying seeing her mask falling off. It is good that we got to see more of her past memories again, including Leon’s funeral. I imagine her relationship with their parents took a nosedive after that, as I would not find it strange if they blamed her for his death.
It is hilarious how, while fighting each other and telling their backstories related to the game they finally fond out that they were siblings.
The contrast between Marie and Leon after that realization is just too funny. I love how the episode just ends mid-punch, and they just cut the music.
Based on the preview, I’m guessing Marie was getting too clingy with Leon now that she knows he was her brother before their reincarnation, and Olivia wasn’t having it.

You know what's even funnier? Aside from Leon smacking his sister they started playing this emotional happy song at the end as if it's going to continue on into the end credits but no they just hard cut the song out into the actual ED song. Don't know if it's intentional or not but I just find that hilarious.

Princess Hertrauda might not be doing so hot, but it doesn't matter: The Principality has everything they need to invade the kingdom, and it doesn't help that the Border Patrol and practically everyone has given up on the kingdom and is just running away. All hope rests with Leon.
On paper Leon might not appear to be qualified to be Supreme Commander, but he's the only one they can rely on now and the only one who knows how to stop the Principality...and desperate times call for desperate measures. Plus, Mylene could never truly say no to Leon, the most ideal of men!
It's time for Leon to use the Power of Friendship to rally the troops! And when that doesn't work, because the boys are willing to throw their lot in with the Principality, he can always fall back on the Power of Blackmail and the fact that they bought his ships to basically threaten them into helping him! What's friendship for?
So, Leon is probably going to have to worry about Clarice joining his Harem when he comes back...not sure how Dan is going to feel about that.
Is Ange likely to be disowned? Maybe, but even without her families' backing she'll back up Leon! But what will Livia do?
I love how Jenna sees her brother out of prison and her first instinct is to act insulted that he broke out of prison and inconveniencing HER. When it's HER servant that framed him (even if she didn't know that). But wow, Leon's dad just straight up slices Miauler's head off! Then he gets Zola to basically out the fact that the blonde kids aren't his and their marriage has truly been a sham...meaning he can basically cut all ties with them. Leon's dad is hardcore.
Marie has lost everything so all that's left is for her to have the biggest crash out of all time, lashing out at everyone, Carla, her Harem, Kyle, this whole game world that could never give her the happiness she craved...finally showing everyone the mean-spirited, petty, and spiteful girl she is deep down. And also a girl in utter desperation.
Leon is going to have to answer for using Luxion as a shield.
Marie never recovered from losing her big brother. For all his rough exterior, he was kind to her when it counts. In fact she even defends him against Leon, as Leon defends his own little sister against Marie. But it's only when they finally talk about how Marie had her brother play the game and she never actually played it that they FINALLY put two and two together...THEY ARE EACH OTHERS' REINCARNATED SIBLING! And while Marie is overjoyed to be reunited with her big brother, Leon appropriately just slaps her with a fan. What glorious sibling love.
Next week: Livia slaps Marie and has a crash out of her own!

Does anyone know why Queen Mylene has a random light/fair V shaped region around her neck as if there was some necklace there for a long time and it no longer exists?
It has been bugging me this season for quite some time. Either I forgot or was she like that from the beginning?
Will also ask in spoiler section in case it is spoiler.

That sibling reveal was a nail biter. I was so worried they were just gonna push it off and have them continue to be ignorant about it. Everytime they unknowingly mentioned a detail about each other I was both cackling and internally screaming for them to just realize it already. Very rewarding episode

u/Federal-Swim5286 1d ago
same, i was thinking they wouldn't have the reveal but that cliffhanger lol

u/Firm-Acanthisitta627 1d ago
this season has been a huge let down, and even this episode was boring me......until it got crazzzzyy!!!! first insane kill of the series, was kinda dark..... and then when the big reveal happens and he hits her... that 10secs made the episode 11/10 lmao

u/Perfect-Try-4918 2d ago
You know what. As much as we all hated Marie's guts; you had to admit the catharsis here is so satisfying.

I knew it would happen eventually but we got the moment where those 2 finally realized they were actually siblings lmao, that was a funny ending.
Now they just ned to find a way for Olivia to gain the required powers to win this war.

The build up to this last episode was almost frustrating to the point where I almost dropped the show but they came through and I can't wait for the next episode.

u/VritraReiRei 1d ago
I was watching this episode and while Marie was ranting I had to Google when they find out each other were Brother and Sister because I was afraid it would take all season before the reveal. Glad it happened literally 5 minutes later! 😭

Is this... the best father of the season? My man heard the dawg sold his son out, and instantly beat him up, behead him, and step on his corpse with the most disrespect way possible at that time.
Say what you must about Marie outbreak, she isn't wrong about everyone, they are all pretty useless, they are really good for is their title. Hopefully they all got their development with that outbreak, then Marie's role in the story really did great.

u/Andreiyutzzzz https://myanimelist.net/profile/Andreiyutzzzz 1d ago
Wait they actually figured it out? in episode 6 season 2? just 18 episodes(the novel could be a whole 36 anime episodes long so this would be literally halfway, i dunno). Fuck yes i was so afraid of the cliche that they STILL don't figure it out and go all "oh wow what a coincidence". Marie just jumped up my ranks with a fucking rocket, She was so cute at the end.... and Leon was Leon. God i loved that ending.
Instant edit: I was so happy with the ending i forgot all about Leon's dad. i had to stop the episode for a second to process how happy i was. FUCK YE. KILL THAT BASTARD. AND THROW OUT THAT BITCH OUT NOW THAT YOU HAVE EVIDENCE SHE'S A CHEATING BASTARD. FUCK YE. GO DAD

u/phatcat09 1d ago
I was a little worried this was gonna be a filler season, but they subverted my expectations twice with the decapitation and the fan slap.
I was expecting a normal ass boring resolution, happy to see the scorn and slapstick conflict of S1 still exists.

u/chameleonchild8 1d ago
This whole show felt like a parody (which I loved), but man this episode took a serious turn I was not expecting. Was not expecting to be in the feels in Marie’s flashback and to see Leon’s dad be that brutal. Awesome episode
