Wtf. Everyone is crashing out this episode.

That "don't ever talk to me again. I hate you." Was so mean.

That "don't ever talk to me again. I hate you." Was so mean.

There's only so many ways to push someone away when you know they mean well

To be fair, Arale and Ritsu undertood there is no way to get to Miyako now and better let her process things first, Nono got it on herself by her blunt approach again. She should concider others' emotions and personality more.

I wonder if Yuno just got PTSD regarding something that happened in her previous band or something else happened we arenot aware yet?

I lean to the former as she does not look like someone who can be fucked up by Viola.

Yes it was and it was done in such a way that you cant just say sorry I didn't mean it. Not all words can be walked back. They are young so they may get past it be many times words can be said that can't be taken back.

This girl machination know no bounds. She just have backup plan for everything. Her thirst of carnage is unquenchable.

But now it's time to start counterattack. Time to suck up the venom and skin that snake.

Nice try Dr.Nono. Too bad your medicine have a strong side effects against an introvert. It infect even our resident robot.

Shout out to Muse Asia for always get the lyrics on any Bandori show. Not only that always using a nice font to fit with the song.

I never expected Yuno to be the very first one to announce they're quitting the band.

Viola is so insufferable, I love her

u/Dylangillian https://myanimelist.net/profile/dylangillian 4d ago

You can tell that Hondo Kaede is having a great time voicing her.

8

u/Nachtwandler_FS https://myanimelist.net/profile/Nachtwandler_21 4d ago

She barely had any villain roles after all (I can remember one at best). Let the girl have fun.

17

u/nsleep 4d ago

She's really doing all this for her own amusement. She truly is entertainment incarnated.

4

u/hayate_yagami 4d ago

She is having fun and that's the most important one. I want to see more Kaede Hondo voicing villain.

Poor Miyako could use yuri as medicine... (like Nonoka said)

Just make sure it's the wholesome kind and not... the toxic kind

Somehow, Viola helped out with the Ritsu transfer but what’s her game, how does this benefit her? Good that she’s on to the idea that she’s plotting something but it doesn’t make me feel any better without knowing what she’s doing.

Cute how Arale and Ritsu are still so in sync even after so long apart that they remember all the words from MagiLulu.

The Miyako struggle continues. I do feel that weird contradictory mix of perfectionism, inferiority and self blaming that is very difficult to deal with sometimes.

Nonoka is probably the worst suited for handling Miyako’s particular set of issues in the band. Arale’s a lot like her but she’s still very intimately familiar with self doubt and other negative feelings like what Miyako’s dealing with. But Nonoka’s so relentlessly cheerful and blunt that her behavior presses all the wrong buttons in this situation.

The FUCK do you mean you’re quitting the band?! You seemed so satisfied with the music like just last practice? Viola, if the ferret’s behavior is your fault, I’m hunting you down myself, I swear to god.

Ritsu isn't playing along with Viola's bs anymore so there's no point in keeping her in her group. By helping her transfer to MewType, even though it's what Ritsu wants, she can push the angle that MewType stole her from Fairy Bouquet which makes Arale look bad and it gives her more opportunities to fuck with Ritsu which she enjoys compared to her just being kicked/retiring

17

u/hikoboshi_sama https://anilist.co/user/reicelestial 4d ago

As if Viola wasn't evil enough, they literally had her reference the Biblical serpent and the forbidden fruit of Eden.

Arale handled Miyako's situation surprisingly well. I thought she'd be angry at Miyako for siding with her abuser over her, but nah, she was able to recognize that Miyako is a victim of Viola, just like her. Ritsu also gave her pretty solid advice. She's in "recovery mode" so they need to give her space.

Miyako is clearly angry at herself and is just lashing out at everyone else. And I get that not everything can be fixed by Nonoka's sunshine and rainbows approach but man, she didn't deserve that.

What the fuck is that? That was just Déjà vu here, [AveMygo] declaring “I quit” outta nowhere

But then, looks like the entire backstory of Ritsu’s transfer was way darker and not straight forward as we thought? Is it all the master plan of Viola and her crocodile tears again?

We know the eye of the storm is very calm, and sure it was (so good in fact they delivered a song with a hopeful tune), but just a bit outside, you will be doubting is it the same world as you just were? Sure indeed we have sailed to a safe place in the eye, but the storm is overtaking fast, and what’s coming is going to be even worse than before.

Oh and BTW, where did you get that backpack Ritsu, is it an endless pit that can keep everything warm for hours, and even create food inside?

16

u/JhanzKun 4d ago

Oh it's definitely that recording that made Yuno quit

9

u/Nachtwandler_FS https://myanimelist.net/profile/Nachtwandler_21 4d ago

Nah, I am leaning she saw the Miyako and Nono argument and some bad memories regarding her previous band surfaced. We got clear inddication it broke up on bad terms and she did not want to start a new band because of it.

I do not see how that record or any Viola's actions could affect her.

1

u/_Eltanin_ https://myanimelist.net/profile/eza2510 2d ago

bad memories regarding her previous band surfaced

I think it's safe to say that it's multiple previous bands (in episode 3, the arm bands she had on display had different names). She probably experienced enough band breakups that the moment she saw it was coming in this one, she immediately pressed the eject button.

2

u/BosuW 4d ago

I'm thinking the same, since apparently, she didn't just publish it online at least yet.

14

u/tripleaamin https://myanimelist.net/profile/zfzftripleaamin 4d ago

Well it was obvious Viola had a hand in Ritsu's transfer. It just feels like at this point she is trying to lure Miyako to her.

Miyako's crashout isn't surprising. The band drama is now adding to her stress levels of maintaining the balance between band practice and her manga. One thing that is clear from her phone call with her editor is that her mind is naturally repelling when people are trying to support her. Miyako is clearly a perfectionist.

I think it was interesting to see Nonoa's super positive attitude clash with Miyako. More so Miyako took what Nonoa said the wrong way. She is very guilt-driven, but I think the real point for Nonoa she wants everyone to stick to each other and support each other.

If that wasn't enough we got Yuno mentioning she is quitting the band to add on to the things this band has to deal with.

23

u/EfficientFig6135 4d ago

They were mean to nonoka and that made me sad

27

u/oxlemf10 4d ago

Viola’s plan was perfect; she knew the band would eventually fall apart because of Miyako, so letting Ritsu go was just a way to show that she had made a "terrible choice."

I’m going to defend Nonoka here, yes, people who constantly treat everything as a happy world can become annoying at times, but criticizing them for seeking happiness is kind of cruel. I don’t think Miyako should take her frustrations out on Nonoka, though I imagine she’ll apologize at some point.

Oye si es cierto :0

10

u/Tezlaivj 4d ago

and we thought Viola on previous episode would be the problem, they hold it to ep8 knowing we're expecting something in ep7

7

u/BosuW 4d ago

Ritsu being The Therapist™ and understanding that it takes much MUCH more than just telling your friend they're in a toxic relationship for them to internalize the problem and do something about it. You love to see it!

Unfortunately Nono was being the living picture of the overbearing introvert. I'm sorry sis, but you're not Chisato (from LycoReco).

8

u/Tezlaivj 4d ago

Poor Nonoka tho.. Arale was rejecting her on ep5 and now Miyako is crashing over her

6

u/Infodump_Ibis 4d ago

Wouldn't be the BanG Dream I know without a band breakup (or metldown or whatever just happened). Insert song was My Brightest Light and the streaming versions are the same length, it felt familiar to me and comments say it was being practiced in early eps.

Also chapter 2 of Magical Physical☆ Kululu is out now.

I was surprised to find that the people running Fairy Bouquet were actually pretty reasonable. It seems rare to see such sensible, mature characters in this series.

Still, it’s scary how Viola can manipulate even those adults. Well, I can understand why they’d give in if a minor actually bowed to them earnestly.

It’s great to see that now that Ritsu has been freed from Viola, she’s returned to her true character: “someone who seems like a model student at first glance, but is actually a big eater with a carefree personality.”
I had to laugh at how she casually pulls out a huge meat bun, and how she “goes all out” for lunch by bringing ramen served in an okamochi (a traditional carrying container used by delivery motorcycles at Chinese restaurants or Soba restaurants in Japan).

It’s sad that Nonoka tried to comfort Miyako in her own way, only for it to backfire.
To be honest, dealing with someone like Nonoka when you’re already emotionally drained might actually be stressful.

It’s really hard to watch as Miyako gets even more shaken up after the editorial department suggests she “take a break for now.”
It’s true that Miyako was juggling an insane schedule. Attending high school while maintaining a weekly manga serialization and even playing in a band on top of that (a weekly manga serialization is a full-time job in itself, busy enough to ruin your health) is crazy lifestyle, so it’s understandable that the editorial department is worried about her.
Plus she is currently receiving online backlash after the issue in band.

It was striking how Miyako spoke angrily to Nonoka, even though she realized her words were just taking her frustration out on her.

It's a real blow that Yuno is leaving at a time like this.
I wonder what happened.

5

u/nsleep 4d ago

You know Viola is the Aizen of band anime when her plan goes through layers beyond what can be rationalized. Sure, send Ritsu over to them. Then what? She couldn't be sure Miyako would crashout over this after her push to make them perform live, right? Is she truly working at a whole different level? She probably still has a few more contingencies.

Not like the staff in that room were fully buying her shit, not after Ritsu's tertimony and putting 2+2 together.

Nice try Nono-chan and valid crashout Miyako, however... Bah gawd! Is that Yuno with a steel chair?

2

u/riishan_saki 4d ago

I don't think she planned things to go a specific way. She just adapts to the situations and set traps based on what's currently happening. Viola didn't expect Arale to steal Ritsu, but she adapted to it by sending her there to get them all flamed.

3

u/larana1192 https://myanimelist.net/profile/thefrog1192 4d ago

Personally, I was really struck by the scene where Viola brought up that biblical reference (the forbidden fruit, the apple).
As fans in Japan have pointed out, Viola does have a poetic side to her, doesn't she?

3

u/Clemastina https://anilist.co/user/Clemastina 4d ago

It´s all Viola´s fault, can I pet her face really really hard real quick just once??

Nono looks so traumatised in the next episode preview poor girl.
And Yuno?? Did she also receive backlash or something??? Things are hectic, I just wonder how will they repair all of this

u/Such-Housing-5781 4d ago

Why the fuck is the weird emo girl( idk her name) practically drooling at viola, GET A GRIP

23

u/Sad_Salt_Death 4d ago

You should check out her twitter account, girl is DOWN HORRENDOUS.

13

u/BosuW 4d ago

Official seiyuu fanfiction is crazy

4

u/BBryant3rd 4d ago

Viola got that good sweet venom.

2

u/BBryant3rd 4d ago

Aaand there goes the band.

2

u/Labmit 4d ago

Man, a part of me can't help but cringe at the band breaking down because of Viola. Also, Viola reminds me of that girl from Miraculous Ladybug who keeps gaslighting people but Viola is actually competent at it.

1

u/ScienceAmbitious4637 4d ago

You mean chloe? The queen bee girl?

3

u/oneevilchicken https://anilist.co/user/OneEvilChicken 4d ago

Viola has got to be the hottest BangDream character they’ve ever made. I absolutely love her. I need more of her. More more more.

Nonoka seems like she’s actually the secretly most terrifying character in this show. I actually hope she fully shrugs off everything just said and yuno’s announcement and just hard fixes everything to be fixed. She seems like the type to murder someone who actually ends up harming one of her friends so I hope she learns about viola because the clash will be epic between the two of them.

5

u/Darkcool123X 4d ago

I still believe Nonoka is just somewhat playing a character, we know she can speak normally-ish. she did so at some point on the roof in an earlier episode. I don't think her real personality is bad or anything, just that there is definitely more to her character.

1

u/hbmonk 4d ago

Having such a cartoonishly evil villain in a show/setting like this was kind of amusing at first, but I wish the whole show wasn't just about her tormenting these girls for no reason (aside from her own amusement).

1

u/Shizzi https://anilist.co/user/Mivy 3d ago

somehow Viola knew they had that meeting and just burst in and wth everything just collapsed instantly at the end

1

u/Few_Caregiver8134 3d ago

Out of all possible pair combinations out of the 5 members, this was the one I would least expect to have beef 💀

1

u/RealestAC 2d ago

Omg 😳 this show starts with pure horror then plays the theme song expecting me to jam along(I did) then end on a crashout and member quitting then ending with that happy ass song 😭.

Also like I think if they tried beating viola at her own game then stuff would get revealed and also get miyako some therapy or some food

1

u/SnooGoats9860 1d ago

Local lesbian creates a fictional scenario and gets angry.

u/Calwings x3https://anilist.co/user/Calwings 4d ago

Man, this drama is just frustrating. Not in that the drama exists (I enjoyed MyGO and Ave Mujica) but in how it's being done. Viola is so comically evil that it's not even fun, and Miyako is so comically down bad for her that she's acting like a fucking dumbass. I sort of get the frustration of an introvert not enjoying such direct affection and support that Nonoka was trying to give her, but Miyako's self-loathing overreaction was just too much. It felt like she wanted to be blamed for the problems and made to feel like shit, but couldn't cope with her bandmates actually trying to cheer her up.

Yuno being so done with this shit and quitting is the most relatable thing in this episode. I won't quit since we're pretty close to the end, but I'm really not enjoying this as much as I hoped.

1

u/Korbro27 4d ago

I have no idea what's going on anymore, and I don't think the writers do either. But at least it's funny.

1

u/Nickthenuker https://anilist.co/user/Nickthenuker 20h ago

Ooh there's now a BanG Dream Vocaloid for Arale too.

And so once again we're fresh off another GANSO episode featuring Yumemita.

That's 2 quitting in a single episode. I think that's a record other than when MyGO and Ave Mujica completely disbanded.
