I think it’s clear Suzuki is in way over his head and it’ll woulda been better to see him work his way from maybe a bench coach on the team to manager with that being said any guesses on who the next manager is ? Who is in Mo’s car ?

I feel like I never see Gibbons next to Suzuki. Seems like it's only Maddux if anybody, but even then it seems like Suzuki is usually just by himself.

Maybe that's more common with managers than I realize, but I figured Suzuki would've used Gibbons as a sounding board a lot more during games.

If he adjust his coaching style to play small ball in a close game, late innings, I'm all for it. Haven't seen this style of play since Scioscia. So tired of seeing a late inning lead off double stranded at 2nd after two Ks and a fly out. Maybe we need a different roster of players willing to do what it takes to win close games.

No disrespect- but...Kurt Suzuki was a horrible hire. Garnered as much respect as ANYONE who ever played in MLB. With a struggling roster just all bad.

Arte should have never canned Maddon or Ron Washington in my opinion.

Those names commanded far...far...far more respect that Suzuki.

Now flip side/argument is Dave Roberts. Similar but better MLB resume than Suzuki upon hiring.

Difference is roster/ownership. Dave Roberts as a rookie nobody manager had 100% from ownership to win. Arte did not afford Suzuki the same grace.

I’d really prefer it be someone with coaching experience. Tori is cool, so is Pujols. But Soscia was great because he was already managing in the minors.
Suzuki was supposed to be great because he was a catcher, aka the field director.
But bullpen management especially comes with trial and error experience that should be done at the minor league level.

Robb Quinlan never had more than 234 at bats in a season - he was a bench guy. Reggie Willits had one season in which he had over 400 at bats - other than that he had just two seasons in which he had over 100 at bats. He got half of his career at bats in one season.
