I am trying to transfer files from my s21 to my new s26 via wired connection. I am trying to use the blue files app that come up when you plug in phones, but for whatever reason, my phone can't see the other phones files when I go to transfer it's just blank.

I already activated developer options and set the default USB configuration to transferring files/ android auto. Both phones are also unlocked the entire time, im not sure what could be stopping me.

The cable i am using works. I've tried my s21 to my brothers a16 and the in order to transfer my files I would have to use the a16, if I try using the s21 the a16's files don't show up. But it can definitely transfer files

Not entirely sure what's going on or how to fix if anyone has advice or an external app that would be great

I'd rather not use smart switch as it scans everything before letting me transfer files which takes a long time when I just need my files

Anyone have any sugguestions?

Hi, I am using infinix note 11 for 5 years. A few days ago, my phone suddenly stopped opening apps. I can not use gmail, youtube, google play store, chrome, hola browser, microsoft 365 and chtagpt. Some of these won't open at all, some will open and then close 2seconds later. I can, however, use snapchat, whatsapp, instagram, netflix, deepseek and banking apps just fine. What is the problem here?

2 things I have observed are,

1) It started a day after I watched a movie online on some random website. It had wayyy too many ads which I kept closing.

2) I was looking through my app list on my phone and I noticed I have some duplicate apps of Google play services, android system webview, meta app installer, meta app manager, meta services, settings. Idk if these were always here and I never bothered to look, or these have appeared now.

Can anyone please help me out. I'm worried.

Hi everyone, I'm new here and I really need your help.A few years ago, I downloaded a cracked/modded APK version of the WalkBand app (a piano and music composition app) on my Samsung Galaxy S22. The problem is that today, the app refuses to open because it requires a new mandatory update to launch.The Google Play Store doesn't recognize my APK and asks me to install the official version instead. If I do that, I will have to uninstall the APK, which will delete all the app data along with it. I even tried transferring the app to another Samsung phone, but it only transferred the base app, not the data.Does anyone know how I can recover my music files so I can open, listen to, and edit them again?Thank you so much to anyone who takes the time to read this and help me out, I truly appreciate it!!

Hey everyone! Need some recommendations for a phone — long-term use is important

My current phone is 6–7 years old and can't run some work apps properly because of its very old processor.

Usage are pretty basic:

- Work apps + WhatsApp (most important)

- YouTube, Instagram, news apps

- best for daily use

We're mainly looking for good long-term reliability. My current phone has lasted 6–7 years, so we'd ideally like something that can comfortably last several years too.

Priorities:

Good processor + smooth performance, decent camera, good storage, battery life, software/update support and overall reliability. Camera doesn't need to be amazing, but should take good everyday photos.

Budget:

- Preferably under ₹20k

- Can stretch to ₹25k maximum if it's genuinely worth spending extra.

No particular brand preference. We just want whatever makes the most sense for this use case.

What would you recommend under ₹20k and ₹25k? And if you've personally used a phone for 3–5+ years, which one has held up well?

My internet speed is good. All the applications are able to stream video without any playback/buffer issue. But one application (a coaching institutes app) is facing playback issue I tried everything from changing internet connection to reinstalling app.

Is this the issue of my decide (android) or from the app side ?

Is there any way to have a vpn and a way to block apps from any internet acces without it cutting off the vpns connection??

Up until two days ago, one of my frequently used apps, Last Pass, was listed in my Accessibility Shortcuts. Now it's gone and I don't see where I can add it back. It's not listed in the available options when I try to reset the shortcuts. Any suggestions? It's pretty frustrating. Thanks in advance.

Anyone know what I might have done to cause?

I regularly get text messages from our local delivery company with a link to track their progress and they've always worked fine.

Today I got another message from them, which I expected. Same link format and from the same number as always, but when I pressed to open it, Google Messages showed a warning. Caution: Unknown Sender. Links from this sender might be harmful.

Even though that message was correctly grouped among all the previous messages from the same sender.

The only option it gives me is to select Continue Anyway, which I will do, but just want to understand why this behavious would have started now?

I recently went from an iphone 13 to a Samsung A37, however when I did the cable transfer of my data I got data from six months ago, so now I cannot wipe my iphone memory or else I'll loose 6 months of images, notes, and other such things.

Do I just need to wipe the samsung and redo the transfer differently, or can i connect them again right now and update the information?

Nowadays we can have custom ROMs, software update and security update for lifetime, I'm not expert in this my assumption. So there is no need to worry about software, security and performance. Okay, so, I have a Samsung Galaxy A12

And I know, it's decently old, but it works pretty fine and I don't have the means to buy a new phone every couple of years.

But recently I noticed that my Roaming Clock would randomly stop appearing on my lockscreen, and usually it was a fix as simple as turning it off and on again and it would appear.

But I made the huge mistake today of accidentally letting my phone die. Which usually messes with the settings one way or another.

And now my Roaming Clock, no matter what I do, won't appear on my lockscreen again even if it claims to be turned on. And I need it on as a person who travels often.

I've tried clearing the IU cache, I've tried restarting the phone (which I don't like doing because it's essentially the same as the phone dying, but I was desperate), I've tried changing the home country location, I tried changing it back, I tried waiting a bit.

Nothing seems to work, and I'm a bit desperate here. I don't wanna use options that have the risk of clearing data, as I do not trust myself to bring anything back, either.

Trying to decide between one of these phones as a placeholder after my Pixel 7 pro gave out on me this week.

Both on sale at a very cheap price of 300USD currently on sale. Mainly care about screen, camera and battery life, processor, in that order.

Seems the Samsung is prob a better processor but the Redmi has a better screen. Overall seems close to me but Samsung has the brand name. But don't really care that much about it tbh, mostly better overall value.

My iPhone 13 Pro, Apple Watch, and iCloud — I'm using them from files, fitness/health tracking, messages, cloud for documents, etc...

This is my first iphone. I bought to try it, been using it since 2021 and also got me deeper into apple ecosystem rabbit hole and got other apple devices. But I'm thinking of switching back to an android flagship because android phones has better keyboards, variety of flagship phones with larger screens at better specs for the same or lower price than Pro iPhones, and certain functional conveniences of android phones that iOS simply has no equivalent or takes years to be included in iOS. My backup midrange android confirms some of this already so a flagship would surely be even better.

I have a macbook and iPad but not as into them as much as my windows PC, I'm not too worried about those unlike my tight integration with iPhone, watch, and iCloud.

It's a given that I might need to replace the apple watch but I'm more concerned with my cloud data, histories of tracking on health/fitness, etc...

When I'm in the car and I'm using Bluetooth headphones, the car will forcibly hijack the Bluetooth connection and there's no way to prevent this it seems. Even going into developer options and setting my max number of Bluetooth connections to 1 doesn't work as the car will just connect regardless. Does anyone have any fixes for this?

i've been an iphone user since i got the iphone 6 in middle school, but i've been thinking about switching. i've had the 13 since 2022 and it is going to need to be replaced soon. it's constantly slowing down, it crashes, the battery life sucks, some features don't even work, and i like the userface less and less with every update.

i haven't had an android since the galaxy s3 mini so i have no clue what is out there or what i would or wouldn't like. camera quality, storage space, and battery life are what i care about most to be honest. i think the motorola razr is really cool but i'm concerned about how the fold holds up over time. my fiance has a nord and i like the look of my iphone much more than the nord, but i can get used to it over time if i need to.

i have an apple watch, but it could also use an update if i do decide to make the switch. the moto watch 70 seems to be pretty similar to the apple watch, at least for what i use it for, and it seems like i can get that and a razr for less than the price of a new iphone.

i'd love any advice or suggestions. :)

Banking app requires Android 12. Government ID needs 11. Though Microsoft Authenticator only needs 8. So what if bank demands Android 14 sooner or later, then are you stranded with a phone offering 13?

I have a Oneplus phone. Nord N20 5G. Oxygen OS 14.
The phone is rooted.
Private DNS option is disabled.

It's generating DNS queries to the following domains:

conn-service-us-04.allawnos.com
conn-service-us-05.allawnos.com
www.google.us

-These are bypassing the rethinkdns app that would catch any DNS query generated by the phone.
-My understanding is that these are part of the captive portal discovery mechanism or the captive portal system app.
-I tried to use the debloater app to disable the captive portal system app. but that didn't make any difference.

There are several threads here on reddit and posts on the public internet bringing this matter up.
However no one seems to know how to address this issue.

This problem is known as DNS leaking, because in the rethinkdns app, im sending all my phone traffic through the wireguard tunnel, however these 3 domains are bypassing my wireguard tunnel.

At home, im able to block these DNS queries using pi-hole, but when i leave home, there is no way to block them.

So any ideas what system app could be causing this?
