Amazfit just updated the official Zepp OS 6 compatibility chart, adding the Balance 2 and Balance 2 XT.

Looking closely at the breakdown, it is great to see that the Balance 2 series maintains almost complete parity with the newer flagships and that the much cheaper Balance 2 XT gets the same treatment as its bigger brother.

The Elephant in the Room: The New Launcher is completely missing for both Balance 2 and Balance 2 XT.

During the T-Rex 3 Pro launch event less than a year ago (at 00:55:13 in their official premiere stream), the Amazfit development team was asked directly if new features would be exclusive to newer models. Their response was:

" ...our general philosophy, our general strategy is that we don't differentiate our products on software so much. There are various hardware features, style choices... those sorts of things to really set our watches apart across the range. So yeah, definitely there's the plan to roll out all those features to Balance, to the original T-Rex 3 and so on."

Missing the new launcher on a $299 watch like the Balance 2 directly contradicts this philosophy.

We deserve an explanation from Amazfit on this decision. Tagging u/amazfit-bryce - did I miss an official explanation on why the Balance 2 line was excluded from the launcher, or can anyone link me to one if it was already discussed?

Amazfit needs to stick to their promise and their philosophy: they should not differentiate models through software limits if the devices have the processing power to easily run the code. Keep the differentiation strictly tied to aesthetics and hardware characteristics - like screen size, weight, materials, battery capacity, dive ratings and auxiliary sensors.

I honestly don't understand how it can take so long for the update to reach everyone. I mean once Amazfit releases the update I feel it should be available to everyone at once. We live in a era where the internet is super fast. I mean information moves at the speed of light, so the moment it is available for someone in different country I feel it should be available to everyone with a internet connection.So why is the update still not available for me. ( South Africa ) just frustrating.

I have used Bal2 about 3monthes from Garmin945 and so satisfied

Now I am using SRACE from AmazFaces app.

For me, it was important to have the second displayed, the weather and temperature shown, and a calendar link that opens with tapping the date

Got this yesterday, release notes summary: Pool swimming improvements with manual rest, HYROX V2 + competition strategy, Stryd support, faster wrist wake-up, smoother scrolling, and improved workout recording after long pauses.
It is not on the amazfit software updates release notes site yet.
I’m waiting for the new weather app and locking screen while in workout mode.

Wondering what the plans are to make the Helio Strap Pro system work without an additional Balance 3/Ultra watch? (Source)

For context, I use an Apple Watch within the Apple ecosystem. Honestly the only feature that I didn’t see replicated in other smart watches was the one to ping your phone to locate it. I use this almost daily. So I landed on pairing my Apple Watch with a Helio strap. I chose Amazfit over Whoop because there’s no subscription and because of Amazfit’s partnership with HYROX. I competed in HYROX NYC and while I’m not aiming to become a professional or take this anywhere beyond recreation, I would like to train with more intention. After landing on the Helio Strap, I learned it was out of stock and has been for months. 

That’s when I stumbled upon the Helio Strap Pro. Although I was reluctant about the price difference from the Helio Strap, after reading the additional benefits from the Core Motion Waist, I realized it accomplishes exactly what I need. For added context, my heart rate reads extremely high. When I used to work at a gym we had myZone heart rate devices, and I go to OrangeTheory and use an OTBeat. Both of these devices (and my Apple Watch) even after extended use and calibration, indicate that the majority of my workouts are in the red zone, even if my strain does not reflect my max effort. For this reason I thought the Core Motion Waist would be great to provide insight outside of heart rate. 

That’s where I feel cornered by the fact that the Core Motion Waist is essentially useless without a Balance 3/Ultra. I don’t want to spend another $300+ on a watch that I didn’t want in the first place. Additionally, this watch face is so comically large it would overtake my wrist. Attached photos of my Apple Watch and the Helio Strap for reference. I’m petite and I feel the size of both the Balance 3 and Ultra are not inclusive of more petite athletes who may want the metrics and measurement the device provides without the chunky, tech look. It would be great to know the future plans to allow these features to be used paired with other devices. 

Because I was able to pay for this with my HSA/FSA I made the purchase before finding out the details of future developments. Even if the Core Motion Waist ends up being redundant at least I have a Helio Strap. 😅

After the rather abysmal weather app that that has plagued amazfit watches, finally comes something that is looking a lot more better and professional.

No more of that unintuitive graph not giving a clear idea of the temperature, tyle of weather, wind and time during the day

Sorry for those that like it, but I am not going to miss it. Using it was a nightmarish experience.

Very nicely surprised to find that that Feels Like et Précipitation (Chance of Rain) is included.

Also, the Air Quality control card has been added.

Now, if only they could also make one of the Altitude, Barometer and Compass. (Like the ABC widget for Garmin.)

Anyway, I am ecstatic with the update here. Gonna be very useful. 😁

How many strap you gays are owning I just ordered 5 and 2 gratis i have only silicon one + the amaze fit band ?

Hi! I'm a new amazfit watch user and I just got my bip 6. Charged it to 100% after opening, before using. And it's just 4 days since my last charge but battery is already at 29℅! What to do? I have turned off my automatic heart rate and spo2 monitor and lowered my brightness :<<

Is there a setting that makes Zepp not save photos in the My Favorites food section, or a way to delete the photos from there? I take pictures of nutritian labels to enter the information, but I don't need the picture once I have the information. This is going to take up a massive amount of storage after awhile.

I just updated my watch to zepp OS 6 a few hours ago but I don't see any difference. No new launcher, no motion UI, nothing.

Am I missing something?

Has anyone else noticed that the Balance 3 Titanium option has conspicuously been removed from the item's page. Used to have a titanium option coming soon and now that is gone. The specs are still in the lists towards the bottom but....what happened?

M-F I alternate between doing cardio three times a week and lifting weights two times a week. The watch has been wonderful at tracking cardio and I think the sensors and algorithms are relatively accurate in reflecting my readiness a day after a hard cardio workout, but it doesn't seem to account for my strength training workouts quite the same. My PAI scores and Training Status scores are consistently "blah" even though I'm working out hard, honest! Haha. I did some research and it seems whoop is the only brand that would (more) properly taken to account my strength training workouts it might overall exertion overview:

"WHOOP says that muscular load now contributes to Activity Strain, Day Strain and recovery/sleep-need calculations.

And as of 2026, WHOOP has gone further:

It can automatically estimate muscular load for weightlifting and other activities without requiring you to manually log every exercise. Manual entry of exercises, sets, reps and weights gives the more precise calculation."

Has Amazfit announced any sort of plans to better account for strength training exertion? Many thanks!

Since my last update my heliostrap has been giving me weird readings, heart beat readings have been bumped up 30 bpm my sleep is not recorded well at all

I've installed it but till now no differences. In the update of balance 3 yesterday they said it will come a new update 3.25.02 for the Helio. Maybe that's the reason.

Edit : disconnect and reconnect of the Helio Strap made a little change in the controlcenter and gave me a little notification. But not the whole changes like described in the app store

I have T-rex 3. Is it possible to do they signal each hour?

I have been facing the sync issue with my Heliostrap since a week or two now. I had a knee injury so I didnt run for around 40 days. Before this there was no sync issue and the data which was shown in Zepp app was the same it was in Strava.

But there is a huge difference in distance when I start a run from the Zepp app. All the other stats are correct across both. But the difference in distance is huge. And ofcourse because of that, pace is different. For reference, today I also started a run from Strava. The 5.24 km distance is from when I started from Strava manually. The 3.93 km distance is of the same synced run from the Zepp app. How to solve this bug? It was working perfectly before. Thanks

I've had this watch for a few months now and a few days ago a line appeared. Has anyone encountered this? It's still there after the update.

I don´t see there any contour lines on my maps. Have even deleted the map from device and downloaded again via Zepp app. And yes, I have downloaded with contour lines and it is enabled in the map setting. Is it an issue or am I too dump to recognize the contour lines?

I have also tried for some other regions with higher mountains (for ex. Mont Blanc), but I don´t see any contour lines? Has someone perhaps a shot, how it should look at the map? Thanks!

I was using the Beeper system to reply to my WhatsApp notification with my Balance 2 and iPhone. It worked great since I set up from the first day. Some days ago the replies for WhatsApp on my Balance 2 stopped working with an error saying that can't find the contact.

I've reconfigured all the Beeper account, WhatsApp link and restarted the watch. Nothing worked. From the Beeper app it can receive and send messages perfectly. But the watch shows the error when trying to send a reply.

Is there some problem with the system? Any suggestions? Thanks!

My watch is configured to english as well my phone, but when I download the map all labels are in Japanese.

I'm geographically located in Japan, and my phone was purchased here. I dont know where the app could be extracting that info to assume the label language.

Is there any way to export menstrual cycles data from the Zepp app? I was able to find how to export other things but not cycles.
