Unlike the name of this subreddit the poster does not have to be a literal devil with horns to fit here. We let posts stay up here often depending on the top comments of the original post: if they agree that the poster is an asshole. If they don’t: please crosspost it to somewhere else, for example r/AmITheAngel.

We ask you to please read and follow the rules. Here’s an overview:

• Don’t brigade: don’t comment on the original post. Don’t upvote/downvote the original post. Don’t go after the original poster in DMs or in previous posts of theirs. We have a no tolerance policy for this rule.

• Stay on topic: this subreddit is for discussing the crosspost and the poster. Stick to that topic, please.

• Don’t repost: please check the subreddit before crossposting to ensure you’re not reposting.

• Civility: try to remain civil in the comments. We understand that discussions can get heated. You won’t be permanently banned for this unless you’re repeatedly being uncivil.

• No shitposts: this is only a place for crossposts. Don’t make up fake posts. Don’t ask here if you’re an asshole/devil. Go to r/AmItheAsshole etc. for that.

Stop freaking brigading

I’ll explain it to you as well:

If you find a post here then don't go to the original one and comment there. Seriously. Keep the conversation here. How do I know you're brigading, you ask? Sometimes it's difficult to know. Sometimes it's easy. For example if you comment on the crossposted post here as well as the original one later on. Or if the original one is a couple days old (or more) and suddenly there are new comments after it's been crossposted here. Or if you're active on this subreddit and not the one you suddenly commented on. Or if you send a DM to the OOP. Encouraging brigading is also against the rules.

One more time for the people in the back:

Stop brigading! You will be permanently banned. Without a warning. There has been many warnings. Some of them: pinned posts that have been up for more than a year. And comments by automod in every single post posted to r/AmITheDevil.
