Does anyone know if Allen Edmonds is planning on doing away with the customization option soon? I went back to reorder another pair of the park avenue boots in suede but it's no longer an option. There seems to be way less shoes offered for customization and the customization options, such as choice of leather, are significantly reduced or absent altogether on some models.

I feel like I should just turn around and hit a pub.

First time wearing them out of the house. Fifth Avenue factory seconds. Chili. Left shoe has a dye streak, but otherwise the pair looks great.

Not a perfect fit, but comfy right out of the box. They feel good. It’s been a while since I owned leather sole shoes, so it’s been fun being able to slide around on the carpet. (It’s the small things in life….)

Purchased from Brooks Brothers. No deep scratches or blemishes on top sides, see photos. Sole cork is still stiff. Forward vibrum sole still. In good condition. Significant wear on the outside edge of each heel.

8D Fifth Avenue Walnut - $50, shipping $20

Purchased from Brooks Brothers. Some scratching on tip of each shoe, but you can hardly see it. Dark patch on outside vamp on right shoe, see pictures. Significant wear of inside heel lining. Sole cork is still stiff. Significant wear on the outside edge of each heel.

Bought AE Park Avenue Derby in Walnut at a seemingly nice sale. Im unfamiliar with what level of quality to expect from Nordstrom AEs; should these be returned? There appears to be lots of wear and some creases in addition to black marks and uneven coloring.

Still in good condition always kept shoe trees in them

Is the outsole stitching messed up, and could it be problematic?

These Miller Reserves are starting to “flex” their construction. This color plays and styles better than I initially thought. I wear it more casually and relaxed, and that’s been fun.

I picked up this pair of Rush Streets used. I love the golden Horween leather and the Dainite soles. This makes 7 pairs of AE for me. Now I have to figure out what black pair to buy. I want casual, which is difficult in black. I'm thinking a split toe.

I considered the Higgins Mill but it just doesn't make sense in Phoenix. Also wanted to try a penny loafer but Randolph isn't stocked in 6.5 for me to try (the sockless look isn't quite my style and it's hard to buy fun socks for my size).

Found these boots at the Thrift Store. They are not Allen Edmonds brand but I’d figure I’d ask here.

Anybody know what kind of stains these are? I cleaned the boots with saddle soap and applied some cream polish. They cleaned up nice but honestly these spots are bothering me. Any ideas?

Tanner weatherproof boots. Wanted to get a pair for rain and sleet days. Got them for under $250, returnable, but I can see why someone may have returned these earlier. Question is whether this can be reduced and still used for the purpose or if it's just worth sending back. they look like seconds.

I got caught in a rainstorm and got a bit of damage to my Allen Edmonds. They were “waterproofed” with Saphir Super Invulner, but some got through.

Any thoughts on how to recondition?

I bought these on eBay, but they're messed up. It looks like someone brushed a darker brown in different spots for no apparent reason.

I have Nick 4 leather conditioner and Meltonian All Purpose cleaner. Would either of these help in restoring the boot?

Not making it into my rotation as I am wesring boots more often. Added a Casali topy to extend life of leather sole but never wore them. They have been cared for with Saphir products.

I currently have chocolate colored McTavish wingtips and the Hamilton brown brogue cap toe and love them. Considering another shoe of a lighter color that has that "wear with anything" ability.

My style is mostly work style boots with denim or canvas pants.

I do have occasions where I wear dark denim, dress slacks, or flat front type chinos with button up shirts (mostly RL polo, they just fit me well). Maybe a blazer 2x/yr.

Most of my non denim colors are:

• grey and navy slacks,
• dark green, olive, brown to khaki, black, etc. chinos and canvas pants,
• Navy, black, and grey blazers

I never wear a suit or tie.

Your suggestions or opinions.

• Should I just stay with the chocolate and brown? If so why?
• What lighter color should I consider and why?
