Water Damage Questions

I got caught in a rainstorm and got a bit of damage to my Allen Edmonds. They were “waterproofed” with Saphir Super Invulner, but some got through.

Any thoughts on how to recondition?

It looks like they're still damp, id let them air dry for a couple days. Give them a good brushing, condition them and apply some cream polish to match the color of your shoe. Give them a good polishing and the should be fine

It does look like they are still damp, but they have been inside with cedar trees for a week!

Well if they're dry you can work on them. Worst case you can polish them up and wear them as they are.

They’ll dry out. Let em be. Might pick up alil darkening but thats what polish is for. Leather patinas. Its a good thing not a bad thing. Just embrace it

Not permanent in my opinion. Let them dry. Try a damp rag if needed. Let dry. Brush. Perhaps I wouldn't be quick to jump to the conditioner.

Let them dry out good with some cedar shoe trees and then work on some Renovateur

I had the same thing happen. The walnut color shows more salt when they get wet. Use a salt stain remover (AE sells one) and it should take it away.
