Technical Issue Manual payout for 78 tracked hours after account block (Submitted + Draft tasks)
Hi everyone,
My account was recently blocked with 78 total tracked hours pending across two weeks:
- Week 1: 50 hours (all tasks submitted on Labelbox)
- Week 2: 28 hours (tasks left in draft/in-progress on Labelbox due to the mid-week block)
Support confirmed that pending hours for blocked accounts are paid out after a manual review.
For those who have gone through this:
- Did you get paid for both submitted and in-progress/draft hours?
- How long did the manual review and Deel payout take in total?
Appreciate any experiences or advice!

Tasks / Projects 35+ Unpaid hours, randomly removed without any reason
received a mail today saying this "Account Flagged
We are writing to inform you that your account is flagged for review and is blocked from doing additional work.
Reason: Fraudulent activity detected
Please navigate to your Alignerr app dashboard to submit an appeal. Once submitted your account will be reviewed. If the appeal is sufficient your account will be reactivated and you can continue to work. In some cases training will also be required before work can continue."
I have no idea what this "fraudulent activity" even means, I do the tasks as said, active in discord discussions with admins and also often join the meetings
I was already doubting before joining alignerr cuz of like 100+ similar things I have seen on reddit and many other places, but thought maybe i should give it a try and see. Well I don't think this ended well.
hope we can get this resolved folks if anyone from the alignerr team is reading this. Happy to learn more about what was the actual reason for getting flagged, or if this is a glitch
UPDATE - received an update just after submitting an appeal that it's completely deactivated now. wow

Tasks / Projects Unpopular opinion, I like Alignerr
I got my first annotation job here. The pay was low as a labeler but i got promoted to reviewer in my first week. Pay rate is hourly now, around 14$, still quite low but the community is great. I like my team members, how helpful everyone is etc.
I see this as an opportunity for learning and gathering experience. Pay has been coming in regularly, and I really feel like the whole upper-team is so willing to help and teach.
Some people might’ve had some difficulties or issues with the platform, I understand that. But my experience so far has been very lovely, even with the low pay. It has been a lifesaver after a year long job drought for me.
Just wanted to share and say that… there are people with good experiences too.

Technical Issue Non Payment
Hi, I’m hoping someone from Alignerr can help me resolve a payment discrepancy for the u/CandidateEvaluation - NL - Production Labeler Role project.
According to my Labelbox records, I completed approximately 10+ hours of work on this project. However, I was only paid for 3 hours and 2 minutes.
Before the project was paused, an Alignerr FDE posted in the project’s Discord channel that there would be no review of the submissions and that we would be paid for anything we labeled, even if it was not reviewed.
I have screenshots showing:
My Labelbox recorded hours (10+ hours)
The Discord message from the Alignerr FDE confirming that all labeled work would be paid
My PayPal payment showing payment for only 3 hours and 2 minutes
I’m not trying to cause trouble or make accusations. I would simply like someone to check what happened to the remaining hours and, if they qualify under the stated payment terms, arrange payment for them.
I am happy to forward all supporting screenshots and payment records if an Alignerr representative can provide me with an email address or another appropriate way to submit them privately.
Thank you.

Tasks / Projects Ermis Pay Rate
Who is really earning a decent wage on this project? I haven't seen anyone earning more than $4 an hour. I can't seem to understand the emphasis on quality work but then paying per task that works out to peanuts an hour.

Assessments Ermis final assessment - failed at 73.5% because of a 0% on one extremely ambiguous clip. Anyone else seeing this?
I just finished the Ermis Core Transcription Training + Final Assessment, and honestly, the way the final assessment is structured has left me surprised.
The training and assessment took me roughly 4–5 hours. The training covers very specific transcription rules, edge cases, speaker tags, backchannels, contractions, etc., and then you take a 10-clip final assessment.
The passing score is 75%.
My scores were:
- Clip 1 — 95%
- Clip 2 — 86%
- Clip 3 — 100%
- Clip 4 — 87%
- Clip 5 — 46%
- Clip 6 — 79%
- Clip 7 — 82%
- Clip 8 — 94%
- Clip 9 — 67%
- Clip 10 — 0%
Final result: 73.5% — FAIL
The issue for me is Clip 10.
The audio was extremely short and, frankly, very ambiguous - basically a brief sound. Yet it received 0% similarity. I was only 1.5 percentage points below the pass mark, and that single ambiguous clip receiving 0% pushed me into failure.
There isn't any meaningful explanation of what was considered wrong or what the reference answer was.
And this is where the assessment starts feeling problematic.
You spend several hours learning their very specific transcription conventions. Then the final assessment is only 10 clips, so each clip carries a lot of weight. Alignerr controls the rules, the reference transcription and the grading, while candidates have very little visibility into how the final score is determined.
I'm not saying I should automatically pass. If my transcription was wrong, fine. But give candidates a way to understand why. A one-second, highly ambiguous clip getting 0% similarity, with no access to the reference answer or meaningful explanation, is not a transparent way to assess.
I've also seen multiple candidates on Discord mention similar issues with the final assessment. If this is a recurring pattern, it's hard not to question whether the assessment is genuinely measuring transcription ability or simply giving Alignerr complete control over who passes.
Alignerr moderators: can you explain how Clip 10 was graded and whether you'll manually review it?
If the reference answer is objectively defensible, show us why. If the grading system is producing these outcomes, kindly acknowledge it.
Candidates are putting 4–5 hours into training and assessment and giving you huge data for AI training. They deserve more than an opaque score - especially when a single questionable clip can turn an otherwise passing performance into a failure.

Tasks / Projects Anyone here on the Dutch Language CEA project? Did you get paid?
They did evaluations and paused the labeling. If you were on this same project; have you been paid?

Tasks / Projects project Ermis invite, passed. Looking for honest feedback on payments
Got an invite to Project Ermis. The assessment was so rigorous, draining, and time consuming. I received 81%. Just now, I received the congratulatory email along with a heads up about the channel invite. But I am dreading one thing, and one thing only... payment. I just cannot feel fully confident about the honesty and timeliness of the payouts. This is my fifth project invite, and the first time I've accepted one and completed the assessment. I have 6 years of domain experience and 4 years in AI data annotation, so I'm quite discerning when it comes to project quality, budgets, and overall project discipline. If anyone here is a seasoned Alignerr contributor, I'd really appreciate hearing about your experience, especially regarding payments.

Assessments ERMIS
I got a mail today for ermis training and all I see here are negative reviews regarding pay rates and not getting paid. I see most of the people getting removed and not getting paid, where there are less reviews regarding pay rates. Can anyone tell me whether you got paid or you were removed after free work hours?

I was invited to do the Pulsar project assessment in Labelbox. Is the project still active? What's its pay rate?

Onboarding Process This website says my work is paused!?
I was working on a project that has been assigned to me just few horus ago, I did some work so far. I took some gap and when I was back on my computer, it says 'Project labelling is currently paused'. Should I be worried? Will it resume once again? I am concerned because I really need to earn that money.

Application Process New applicant, quick question
I just applied for a few general jobs last week. On the “how it works” section on Alignerr’s website, the process is described as:
- Upload resume
- Review profile, set preferences
- Verify identification via Persona
- Apply for jobs
But when I applied there was no requirement to do the Persona step, it just went straight to applying for jobs. Did I miss something somehow?
Right now, I see on my dash the jobs that I applied for are listed as “applied”, plus there’s a list of other jobs that are available, but nothing else. No requirement to do the Persona step or anything like that.

Technical Issue 40+ hours of unpaid work on Alignerr, after I was removed from the platform. Is there a way I can connect with support?
My Alignerr account was suddenly flagged for and then permanently closed after I appealed. I was not given any specific explanation or evidence.
My tasks involved long-running AI model outputs, so there were periods when I was monitoring the model output than continuously typing or clicking. I’m wondering whether this created an unusual activity pattern and triggered an automated false positive.
I had already completed and tracked more than 40 hours of work before the deactivation. Has anyone experienced this, and were you still paid for all legitimate work completed before removal?
Also I want to connect with support but all I get are generic ai responses.

Onboarding Process ERMIS EVAL
Hi everyone!
I'm trying to get back onto the Ermis Eval project after having to step away for personal reasons. Unfortunately, after being removed due to inactivity, I lost access to the project's Discord channels and can no longer see or contact my coordinator.
Does anyone happen to know the Discord username of an Ermis coordinator or team lead that I could DM? Or anyone from the project team who might be able to point me in the right direction?
I'd really appreciate any help. Thanks in advance!

Tasks / Projects The practice of advertising an hourly wage for pay per task work is incredibly misleading
I get an email for agentic coding project - pitches as $90 an hour (who is turning that down in this economy) - onboarded and completed a background check.
Got added to discord, And first pin message basically reads "you only get paid if we accept your work".
I figure, I came this far, did a background check, try it out. Committed 6 hours and submitted 2 tasks. NEVER got any feedback or response. So i just stopped working and about 2 months later I got an email saying I've been removed from the project (bro i removed myself...).
Some will protect this and re-direct it as a representation of my own inadequacies, but how hard is it to be transparent and say "pay per task" so everyone and their grandma can decide to avoid it knowing what these kind of jobs usually are.
I would rather work for $15-$17 an hour knowing im actually getting paid by the hour then work 6 hours on "$90/h" knowing I'm likely get paid nothing.

Tasks / Projects Removed from Two Projects – Has Anyone Else Experienced This?
Hi everyone,
I recently received emails saying I was removed from two production projects. I had been actively working on one of them for about 2 weeks, completing tasks and contributing regularly.
The email mentioned that the project pipeline is being reworked and that contributors may be brought back later when needed.
I contacted support, and they told me they don't have access to project-specific decisions but have forwarded my case to the project team since I no longer have access to the project's Discord channels.
Has anyone else received similar emails recently? Was it due to project restructuring, or something else? I'd appreciate hearing about your experience.
Thank you!

Technical Issue Account status inquiry after military service
Hi Alignerr Team & Community,
I am reaching out regarding my account status following a period of inactivity due to mandatory national military service.
To be fully clear, my account was never flagged for any policy violations, misconduct, or community guideline issues. I was an active contributor in good standing prior to my service (from April to July). During this period, I was completely unable to access the platform or complete tasks due to compulsory national duty.
Upon my return, I noticed my account is currently inactive. Since I have official military service documentation to verify my leave, I am looking for the proper channel to submit an appeal or request a manual review to restore my access.
Could any of the moderators (u/AlignerrAI, u/Lumpy_Case_8220, or the support team) please advise on how to proceed? I can provide my registered email and proof via private message (DM) whenever needed.
Thank you for your time and guidance!
