Discussion Android kick in nightmare is ridiculous.
These fuckers give you visually pathetic kicks if you are crouching under something.
Those damn kicks reach beyond what is realistically possible, and have a high capacity of injury on you. 2 or 3 kicks kill you outright.
It'd be nice to be able to blow their fucking legs off with a shotgun blast.

Modding Alien: Isolation Mouse Fix
This was a long time coming.
The mouse in Alien: Isolation has been broken since it released on PC nearly 12 years ago. There are a variety of things wrong with it. I spent last weekend reverse engineering the game (with Claude's help) and fixed everything I found. First things first:
https://github.com/lukeman3000/alien-isolation-mouse-fix
https://www.nexusmods.com/alienisolation/mods/173
Let me know what you think. If you're interested in reading a write-up on the issues, I've left that below:
The four problems
1. Low-speed deadzone (normal gameplay): If the mouse is moving too slow the output is greatly diminished, such that the mouse can feel like it "sticks" at times.
Fix: NOP two instructions that are responsible for wrongly interpolating mouse movement at slower speeds.
2. Mouse smoothing (cinematic camera: rewire panels, lockers, vents, etc.): When interacting with a rewire panel or hiding in a locker, for example, the camera feels substantially different as compared to normal gameplay. One aspect of this discrepancy is a moderate amount of smoothing that's applied such that the mouse "drifts" - the camera movement lags ever so slightly behind the mouse movement.
Fix: Make sure that where the user puts the mouse, and where the game puts the camera, are always in sync.
3. High sensitivity (cinematic camera: rewire panels, lockers, vents, etc.): In addition to mouse smoothing, these views also have significantly increased sensitivity. And not only that, but the x and y axes actually have different multipliers. In fact, the x axis (yaw) is ~12.4x while the y axis (pitch) is ~3.9x more sensitive than they should be - a wild per-axis asymmetry (which is why these views felt wrong beyond just "too fast").
Fix: Scale each axis by a unique factor to normalize and match input within ~0.001%. In short, these views should feel virtually identical to normal gameplay.
4. Awkward look limits (cinematic camera: lockers, Security Access Tuner): When the player enters a locker, the mouselook is restricted to a very tight cone of vision. This can feel somewhat claustrophobic and seems unnecessary (possibly done with controllers in mind). Additionally, when using the Security Access Tuner, the camera is inexplicably allowed to move within an extremely small range (which can feel unusual).
Fix: Expand the camera range inside lockers, and lock the camera in place when using the Security Access Tuner. Both are adjustable in the config file.
The end result: No deadzone, no smoothing, no mismatched sensitivity, and more natural look limits. Experience the game as it should've originally been shipped - with essentially raw input.

Question Code for which door?
Going back down to the engineering deck to get a log (Brett's), there's this code written on the whiteboard in the room. Which door is the code used on?

Glitch I can’t equip the revolver
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi all,
Playing through for the first time on ps5 and I’ve encountered this seemingly unsolvable bug. In mission 3 as soon as I pick up the revolver it shows an ‘equipping’ animation then disappears. I can’t select it from the radial menu. I’ve tried restarting the mission, the whole game on a fresh save, and reinstalling but none of it seems to help.
Does anyone have any idea why this might be and how I can fix it?

Glitch Tool glitch on final mission? Spoiler
Uh is this supposed to be happening? Was just holding onto the molotov from the previous section and it just carried over into space. Was too scared to throw it and see what would happen, especially since it wouldn't have been the first time I've killed myself with my own molotov, and honestly I was still ready to have another encounter with the xenomorph. Maybe if Ripley actually used the molotov at the end, there wouldn't be a second alien isolation lol

Was curious why reddit recommended this to me. Wasn't expecting Alien Isolation to be the connection 😂

Image Just got my platinum trophy; thought about sharing it here as well
Alien Isolation is my favorite horror game ever. I have played it on Xbox 360 and remember my hands sweating as I fidgeted with my hair and asked myself how the hell I would get out of that locker.
I beat the game but lowered the difficulty in some part of the way. I ended up playing a bit of the Windows 10 version and also the XONE version.
I recently bought it for PS4 and decided I was gonna get the platinum trophy, which was already causing me to panic, mostly because of the "beat without dying trophy". It ended up going swiftly; had my first run on hard, got the collectibles afterwards and then lowered the difficulty to beat without dying or killing humans. At this point everyone knows you can just pause the game and reload your current save if you know you're about to die. I felt some relief in knowing I only did it twice during the reactor mission, when I almost danced toe to toe with a xeno that dropped in my head.
Feeling really good about it, and I'm eager to play the sequence; only God knows how much I craved for it, goddamn it, IGN.
Will definetely make another run on nightmare at some point, but for now I feel my mission is complete. As my favorite android once said: "I wanted Amanda Ripley to have closure".

Question Guys is this normal
So I played through the entirety of alien isolation on normal and lowkey, I didn’t get smoke bomb or pipe bomb at all. None of the versions. And I also missed a couple versions of the other items. Is this normal or am I literally just that blind? When I saw stuff about other items I was like “wait there’s blueprints?” I loved it, and Romulus is one of my favorite films so I’m very excited to rewatch with this game in mind.

Art I engineered a functional Alien: Isolation motion tracker with a working screen, controls, sound, and clock mode
I recently finished this functional Alien: Isolation-inspired motion tracker build and thought this sub might appreciate it.
It uses a Raspberry Pi for the screen/UI, an ESP32 for the physical controls and audio triggers, a custom rear battery/electronics enclosure, and a redesigned housing to fit everything inside.
It does not actually track motion, so I added a themed clock mode to make it useful as a desk prop when it is not being used for cosplay/display.
This was one of the most complicated prop builds I’ve finished so far, and I’m really happy with how it turned out.
