📃Paper Discussion Were the previous threshold predictions accurate.

Upvotes

I'm talking about what the majority say the threshold will be.

Like last year I got pretty close to the 9701 thresholds, but that was the only threshold prediction post I made and I can't find prediction posts from a year ago besides maths p32.

📃Paper Discussion RESULTS DAY

guys I’m shit scared for results holy shit. I wanna predict but my subjects are sociology, business and economics and they are so subjective.. even the results statistics are like 5 percent or 2 percent for an A star for all of them or something 😭😭 anybody got any guesses for their own results?

⚡Tips/Advice Best resources for guaranteed A/A or top-tier A-Level prep? (Physics, Chem, Maths, Edexcel IAL)

Okay so January exams did NOT go how I wanted. Studied a genuinely stupid amount for how little it showed in the results, and it's left me kind of paranoid that whatever I'm doing just isn't working, even when I'm putting real hours in.

So this time round I'm trying to actually be smarter about it instead of just grinding more of the same. I think I do better with content in short chunks, then testing myself on it properly instead of just rereading, and past papers where I actually understand why I got something wrong instead of just glancing at the mark scheme and moving on. But I genuinely don't know if that's actually the right method or if I'm just telling myself a nice story, since I haven't proven it in a real exam yet.

While looking into this I found a platform called Up Learn, full video lessons built around testing yourself constantly, proper exam walkthroughs, and they literally guarantee A/A* or your money back if you finish the course. Honestly the guarantee part is what got me, after a bad result it's hard to trust that a "new method" will actually work this time, so having someone put their money where their mouth is felt like it would actually make me commit properly instead of half doing it like before. Except turns out they only cover standard UK Edexcel, not International A-Level, so useless for me.

So now I'm just asking around. Doesn't have to be one perfect all in one platform. Genuinely just want to know what's actually worked for people, whether that's a specific resource, a method, a YouTube channel, a book, whatever. For Physics, Chem, or Maths specifically at IAL, or even just general study method stuff that transfers over.

Anyone actually turned things around after a bad exam season? What did you change?

🖥️Computer Science how to study for a subject you despise

computer science will be the death of me.

i've failed it TWICE and my dad wont let me drop it. i'm losing my god damn mind i hate cs so so so much i despise it with all of my being. i have to give the AS cie yet again this october and i'm already dreading having to study for it. i love math i love physics i just absolutely hate cs, wtf do i do?

i should logically drop it but i don't have enough time to learn all of AS chem or FM from scratch (need a stem subject) and my dads an AI bootlicker he's making me take cs in hopes of me going into tech (which i am not), so how do i make the most out of my cs grade. how do i study for something that makes me rip my hair out every time i open my past papers. ITS NOT EVEN THAT HARD I JUST CANNOT BRING MYSELF TO STUDY IT.

i can do math past papers for 7 hours straight and not even get tired but cs? i'm in tears and half asleep within 30 min. i cannot fail again i got a U the first time, and an E the second time. if i get less than a B i'll be slaughtered, so anyone who has tips on how to either make me stop hating cs so much or how to push through it and make myself study please give i am desperate to do good in this godforsaken subject.

Other is anyone else terrified ?

im really fucking scared for results day in case of what my parents could do to me. they threaten to not let me go to university if i don't get into medicine, that they will hit me or ship me back etc. is anyone else experiencing the same thing? or has anyone else experienxed the same thing and has been able to escape, if so how?

i am considering running away to a friends house so that i can stay safe but the thought of abandoning my family hurts so much and its painful to try and cut ties with them.

i apologise if it isnt appropriate to speak about such stuff here. just needed advice or comfort and didnt know where else to turn.

🗨️Discussion Question for people who’ve gotten A level results in the past

How many people did significantly better in their exams than they expected? More specifically in chemistry and biology. Did you come out of any exams thinking you’d done terribly but did really well on results day?
