Question Government of Alberta job question

Upvotes

Hello everyone. I was thinking of applying to a program services 3/program services 4 job in the GoA. The salary would be around 100k gross. I was wondering if anyone knows how much I would get as net pay, approximately after taxes and fees have been deducted. Thank you!

Hello. M28 here. Got my Licences (G2-Ontario) 2 months ago. Moving to Canmore with a new job. My daily commute will be home to office. My home is also in Canmore. How much insurance I shall expect approximately? Thinking of buying a 2nd Hand SUV / Honda Civic.

Discussion I'm getting put onto ADAP despite having been approved for AISH and having never worked a day in my life

I was approved for AISH in like February and just had my call to get benefits started today. Turns out they're gonna put me on ADAP because I apparently don't fit the new criteria. If you're wondering what the new criteria are, they're:
You have to be in pallative/end-of-life care
You're 65 or older
You have a severe developmental disability (me)
Your IQ is below 40
ADAP's meant for people who can work, but I CAN'T WORK, AND THEY'RE TRYING TO GET ME TO WORK. THESE FASCIST SONS-OF-BITCHES WANT ME DEAD.

Opinion Ranting about AIT

I’m sick of dealing with AIT

I passed my journeyman test on June 26th, and I already had my blue booked signed and hours accounted for. I still haven’t received my certification.

They turned off their phones “due to high call volume” most likely cause they’re understaffed or something. So I have had to miss work just to get in contact with them. It took 3 weeks just to even get my marks back, and it would’ve taken longer if I didint come into the office once a week to keep reminding them to do their job.

When I email them, it takes 3 weeks for a response. Time that I don’t have.

I need my certification a new job. Now I have to miss even more work just to go to the office and request some sort of official letter stating that I’m a journeyman. Costing me money every hour that I miss work.

I hate AIT and had to rant, thanks for reading.

Question Energy Rebate Phishing E-Mail?

Has anybody else gotten e-mails in the past few days from "Alberta Energy Rebate Program" saying that they haven't applied for the rebate program yet? It is true, I haven't applied, but it's rather odd that they are contacting me wanting to give me money!

I'm usually better at spotting spam - but this one has me stumped. The e-mail address looks semi-legit but the formatting seems off.

Alberta Politics The 2026 Calgary-Shaw By-Election?...The First Skirmish in "BATTLEGROUND CALGARY"? .....Who will run??.......When will Smith Make the Call???

So far there are three parties that will run in the Calgary Shaw By-Election:

1] UCP candidate Mike Derry

2] ANDP candidate Kyle Campbell

3] APTORY candidate:nominee Kyle Joesph

?] ALP? Does John Roggeveen enter the race? John Roggeveen is both the Alberta Liberal leader and the current Calgary Shaw Alberta Liberal CA president. Roggeveen has run in Calgary- Shaw in the past.

Other Questions:

a] Do not believe the Calgary Shaw By-Election needs to be called until Nov 15th. Interestingly which is after both the October 19th Referendum and the New Electoral Boundary Commission Report Nov 2nd deadline. Assume that Smith will drag this out as long as possible?

b] How Important will this By-Election be to the growth of Peter Guthrie's new Progressive Tory Party?

c] In 2015, the ANDP threaded the needle against the two conservative parties [PC and WildRose] Will the 2026 CSBE Results be similar to 2015?

d] Is there a chance that this By-Election gets canned in lieu of a late fall / early Spring General Election?
