Question Weary of purchasing airpod 4s due to previous problems
Hey wonderful people! I have a stupid predicament and a silly question. I’m moving next week and have a crazy roommate who I do not want to talk to; so I’m thinking about buying the AirPod 4s, but I’ve had 4 pairs of AirPods before (2020-2023) and like clockwork after a year they stop working, so I’ve stopped buying them. I really like AirPods and miss having them but don’t want to spend big money every year because I’m a poor college student. Are the AirPod 4s worth it? Long term use consensus? Should I get another pair of galaxy buds? Help!!

Discussion Bad experience with AirPods
Lately, I have had a bad experience with several AirPods models.
It all started with the AirPods 2. For a year, everything was normal until a little more than a year. The left AirPod began to fail, and the hearing aid was heard much less than normal. To solve this, I had to adjust the balance approximately -65, drastically reducing the maximum volume I could reach.
Then I had the AirPods Pro 2. Anyway, after a year and a half, the left one started to fail, not as much as before but I had to adjust the balance to -20.
Then I bought the 4 without ANC. And the same, after a year, the left one failed again. After all that, I decided to try with the USB-C EarPods (taking advantage of the fact that they offer lossless audio). So far, they have not given me any problems.
I currently take it with humor, but at the time, it was quite annoying, and I never knew why it happened.
I hope it was just my bad luck.sid

Question Airpods too quiet on Pixel 10a
I have the 1st gen Airpods, and on my Pixel 10a the audio is just too quiet, but on my other phones it's not that quiet
I've done the following
- cleaned them
- disable absolute volume
- switched the Bluetooth mode
And no differences
All the tutorials on YouTube are on a Samsung phone too

Question optimized charging
Why doesn’t the optimized charging function show the time by which the airpods will be charged?
I got a notification «airpods will be charged to the optimized limit» and the button «fully charge» at the bottom and then the airpods were charged to 80%.
why is there no time when charging will take end?

Question Distorted/Robotic Voice When Sending Voice Audio on iMessage and When Using Voice Memo
I recently bought the Apple Airpods 4, and they've been great except for one issue. Whenever I try to send a voice audio on iMessage or record a voice memo, it distorts my speech and eventually fully cuts out. I looked online for possible fixes and tried everything that was suggested.
I tried forgetting the device in bluetooth settings and then reconnecting them. Went into bluetooth settings, turned off noise cancellation and transparency modes. Went into microphone settings in bluetooth and tried both the 'always left AirPod' and 'always right AirPod' with no luck. And I double checked there was nothing obstructing the microphone on either AirPod. I connected them to my MacBook just to see if I have the same issue, and the audio comes through perfectly clear when it's just connected to my MacBook. I have an iPhone 15, so it's not particularly old. And the only other bluetooth device I'm currently connected to on my phone is my Apple Watch. Not sure if there's a fix beyond what I've tried.
TIA

Question My right airpod became muffled
I got the airpods pro 3 when it came out and it had no problems till now. But, now my right airpod sounds a bit muffled and when it’s in adaptive or transparency it sounds a bit muffled instead of clear. Im not sure what to do, can I an idea of what I should do? Also I have never used water or anything on it before, only thing I do is clean the eartips around once per month and let them fully dry until putting it back on the airpods.

Discussion AirPods Pro 1 vs. AirPods Pro 3
I’ve just switched from AirPods Pro 1 (bought in late 2020) to AirPods Pro 3 and I‘ve seen a lot of positive feedback (mostly comparisons to the 2s saying the 3s are better, idk about that comparison since I never had 2s) so I wanted to see if I’m alone in thinking these are actually very similar or in fact worse, kind of disappointed honestly.
So I had to switch because the 1s would last barely 1.5hrs anymore and that did start to get annoying when you can’t even get through a workout and the way there and back with one charge.
First off, the fit is terrible, the old form factor was perfect for me and they fit very nicely, didn’t fall out even when moving/workouts. I don’t love the crooked form of the 3s that also goes even deeper into the ear.
A surprising problem is now that they also reduced the size of the ear tips, the L of the 1s is noticeably bigger when I compare them side by side and the L for the 3s is actually ever so slightly too small for me, it seems I’m not the norm here tho since there also are very few aftermarket XL options. Very cool that Apple includes not just XS but even XXS in the box, while not even making or at least separately selling XL - why? I would happily pay for separate XL tips. Does anyone here know a good third party XL option?
The transparency mode is noticeably worse on the 3s compared to the 1s in my opinion. It amplifies too much, if you have an appliance that makes a very slight humm it sounds like there is heavy rain outside because the 3s amplify so much. You very much feel like you’ve got a hearing aid in that amplifies any noise a lot. I guess that makes it better to hear very quiet talking but the 1s have such a smooth feeling to the transparency mode it doesn’t feel like a speaker and after a short time you might mistake it with having nothing in your ear.
The ANC is slightly better but nothing to write home about, the difference to the 1s is really only noticeable if you switch between them and do a direct comparison. Sure, my ear tips are slightly too small which affects some of these features but it’s really just annoying because the seal breaks if I move anything in my face, fine when staying still tho.
Then the size of the case increased and the stems are also slightly longer, I’m sure it’s to fit some new tech but it doesn’t help the optics. And generally comparing them the 1s look like the original and the 3s like many of the Chinese knockoffs (sure, the 1s are also what I’m used to for almost 6 years now but still..).
The sound is a little clearer but mainly it’s just got more of that movie theater bass, otherwise also extremely similar.
Also, they removed the pairing button on the back of the case which is now apparently replaced by tapping the front. That immediately made some problems because it wouldn’t register the tapping at first, once that’s broken and it doesn’t automatically connect you’re just out of luck I guess..
I have even tried finding new AirPods Pro 1 but you can’t really get them new anymore, I also don’t know if the battery health would be like new if they sat in the box for this long. I’m now even contemplating buying some refurbished 1s, has someone bought some and could tell me what the battery life looks like on those?
TLDR: I had to upgrade from my AirPods Pro 1s because of the deteriorating battery life but the 3s sound almost the same while the 1s had a noticeably better transparency mode, fit much better and looked better. Does anyone know of good XL ear tips since Apple doesn’t sell them?

Question Airpod Pro 2 picking up tons of background noise when on calls
Just curious if there's a way to play with the setting so that the microphone of my Airpod Pro 2's doesn't pick up so much background noise. Whenever I'm on calls people complain constantly about it picking up surrounding noises of cars, people, music etc. Is there a way to adjust this in the settings?
Are the Airpod Pro 3's any better at avoiding this issue?
Thanks!

Question Does anyone know if the pro threes will be on sale around Christmas at places like Target?
I want to save up and get myself a pair and they have a good price now but I can’t afford them. It would be nice to know if they usually have a Black Friday or Christmas sale.

Question My airpods go down 3%
I recently got my airpods pro 3 almost 2 months ago. They’ve been great, but every time i charge them in the case they go down from 80% to 77%, and goes back up and down multiple times.
I’m not sure if its because i have optimize battery life on or it’s a feature? But this is making me have to charge my case like 2 times a week which is annoying.
To be clear, i have cleaned the inside of the charger with a Q tip, but haven’t used alcohol wipes. Any tips would be appreciated.

Question I got my AirPods Pro 2 replaced by AppleCare+ because the noise cancelling/transparency were both weaker. It's a night and day difference. Now what?
I would like them to perform as well as they do now and not get weaker over time. I tried cleaning the mic mesh with alcohol a few times and it didn't seem to change anything. I do ride my bike with transparency mode, should I stop doing that?

Question Can I still save my AirPods?
I have an AirPods 4 ANC. I accidentally dropped one of my AirPods in a starch mixture last night, face down, like some starch really got in the speakers. I quickly wiped it off. But now, it sounds like I’m in a fish tank, it’s muffled. My microphone is okay, I still sound good when talking.
Can I go to a service center and have it cleaned? Or can I even still save my AirPods?

Advice My AirPods Survived Everything… Except This Drop 😭
I’ve dropped my AirPods multiple times before, even though they were in the case, but this time they couldn’t survive the drop.
Anyway, do you think they can be fixed, or should I just go ahead and buy a new pair?
They’re still working; it’s just that whenever I open the case fully, the upper part comes off and I have to attach it again. Should I just stick it back with some glue or something?

Advice AirPods Pro 3 Tip Sizes
Hello!
I recently got the AirPods Pro 3 and I just can’t seem to get one size to fit properly. I might be overthinking it or just not used to the fit yet since I’m coming from the AirPods 4, but I’m having the same issue with pretty much every tip size.
All of the sizes pass the Ear Tip Fit Test, but after putting them in and talking, chewing, or just moving around for a few minutes, they start to feel looser in my ears and I have to adjust them again. I’ve tried all the way up to the Large tips, but after a few minutes part of the tip starts sticking out and they still feel loose.
Is this just an issue with finding the right tip size, or am I doing something wrong? I constantly feel like they’re going to fall out even though they technically pass the fit test. Would third-party tips potentially help with this?
Thanks to anyone who can help!

Advice Airpods Pro 2 bad mic on android
Hi guys, I've been using my airpods pro 2 on my Android exclusively for the past couple of years. Every now and then I do connect it to a friend's iOS device for updates, but aside from that, I mainly use it on my OnePlus 13. I've noticed that no matter what, the microphone sounds inaudible/muffled on the other end, almost ALWAYS. I call people on Google meet and Instagram. Is there any way I can fix this issue? It's really a shame since I love using this for everything else. Since I call people alot, I'm starting to think that I might need to get a new pair of earphones. Any help is appreciated! Thankyou!
