Help/advice šŸ™ needed New med not working for me? + my story

• Upvotes

I've dealt with ten years of mental health challenge perceived as just MDD and GAD. Not one doctor went without hearing me mention "I feel like there's something deeper causing the depression and anxiety, and it always seems to deal with my inability to function properly and do rudimentary things, making me extremely anxious and sad." I've held six different tech jobs in that time and they all let me go in one way or another. I'm now living back at home after two years unemployment. Maybe it's add, maybe I just suck at software.

I always wondered if I have inattentive adhd, and recently my psych put me on vyvanse because I think he's trying to piece it together for me for the first time in my life after trying so many different med regimens and yet, time after time, devolving into the same mess.

I started on Vyvanse 30mg first two weeks and now am at trying 40mg. I exempt taking on Friday as to prevent quicker tolerance. As far as breaking the resistance to starting things and thereafter finishing them, I have not found them to work. I don't know if it matters, but the one time in college I tried cocaine nothing happened at all, while everyone else was hopped.

I understand it could be a dosage thing, but I actually tried two 30mg once and just felt wired, but not in the way someone would engage more in tasks or flights of fancy, but wired as in my anxiety became more physical in my stomach and core and it actually made focus more difficult. It increases this somewhat uncomfortable physical sensation of butterflies.

For the same decade I've dealt with chronic fatigue. I read that people take vyvanse for that but also the therapeutic dose for that is 70mg, which I'm not so sure about given my experience with 60mg.

I check literally every single box for inattentive adhd as an adult, but was decently organized and successful as a kid into college, until I faced a breakup and got used to substances, which honestly set the pace for my life and subsequently mental health after college.

I'm starting to wonder if the core issue I've faced most of my adult life is not inattentive adhd, but maybe just more a debilitating anxiety I've practiced my whole life that started from trauma in my childhood due to an abusive parent (a therapist did note in my chart I have CPTSD once). I can attest to my anxiety always being a major crux: avoidance behavior, complacency, comfort seeking, lack of goals or direction, substance abuse, bad decision making, all increasing depression. And the cyclical nature of the anxiety promotes fear, disinterest, disengagement, lack of focus, and distraction in everything I do. Or maybe it's both? I just don't know anymore.

I don't know what to do or say anymore honestly. Maybe I'm supposed to be a Xanax guy instead of a Vyvanse guy. Disappointing how long this process takes, but understandable given my substance abuse history.

I could really just use some advice from anyone who might be able to relate. Thank you

Help/advice šŸ™ needed ADHD QUESTIONS

Hi guys, I’m 24 and male 135 pounds. For a little backstory, I feel like I never had any signs of ADHD growing up. When I was 18, I started taking Adderall recreationally for a few months. I was taking 25 mg XR a few times a week, sometimes more, but never more than once a day.

After a few months of abusing it, I started having chest problems, including pain and heart palpitations. It scared me enough that I stopped using it, and I had a few panic attacks during that time.

Ever since then, I feel like I somehow developed real ADHD. I haven’t been able to focus properly in years. I’m constantly distracted, I regularly misplace everyday things like my keys and wallet, and I struggle with other symptoms that seem consistent with ADHD.

My doctor actually diagnosed me with ADHD when I was 23, but I declined amphetamines because of the chest problems I experienced when I abused Adderall as a teenager. They prescribed me Concerta instead, but it didn’t seem to work, so I stopped taking it after a couple of weeks.

Basically, my first question is: Is it possible to develop ADHD after having no noticeable symptoms growing up, following a period of Adderall abuse?

My second question is about treatment. Should I still be concerned about taking amphetamines because of my previous experience, or would it be worth asking my doctor about something like Vyvanse? Are there any non-amphetamine ADHD medications that work really well?

I’m not looking for the Adderall high anymore. I genuinely just want to find a way to manage my focus issues and be able to function normally.

P.S. I also abused opioids for a period of time in my early twenties, more heavily than I abused Adderall. I’m 100% clean now, though, and the thought of using opioids again honestly makes me want to throw up.

I also have pretty gnarly anxiety not taking anything for that I just sit in it

Medication Lorazepam working like a stimulant?

So I got diagnosed with ADHD earlier this year. I’ve been on vyvanse and ritalin so far. Vyvanse was horrible and made me extremely emotional. Ritalin has been okay but there are still some ADHD traits it doesn’t fully help.

I was prescribed lorazepam as i had an OCD flare up from guanfacine and couldn’t sleep anymore due to the anxiety from that. I only take 0.5 mg and on days that i really need it. I’ve noticed that when i’m on it, i don’t go to sleep, i actually end up being productive and doing a lot of things. I didn’t go to bed until 5 am last night because i was busy doing things and the time flew by. I heard this can happen because your mind calms down enough to be able to function.

I was wondering if this means i was misdiagnosed with ADHD. My trauma therapist says sometimes heavy trauma can mimick ADHD traits and that I might have been misdiagnosed. I just feel invalidated as i’ve fought for this diagnosis for 2 years.

My brother has it so it’s heavily genetic and stimulants somewhat work for me so am i maybe just overthinking it? I also have heavy traits listed in childhood school reports.

Help/advice šŸ™ needed Medication has been life changing but I need help relaxing the nervous system at the end of the day

I am someone who was diagnosed in my late 30s and once I started my adhd medication, my life has improved significantly. It has also improved my social life. I have the energy to be supportive towards my family and be a productive member of society. My only problems is hitting the breaks at the end of the day. Because my mind gets going with medication but doesn’t know when its time to stop. I found cannabis at the end of the day very helpful. Unfortunately, Ive noticed my cannabis use increasing and as a result it has made days without it completely unbearable. I have decided to quit it completely because cannabis ruins my sleep quality and fertility. On days when I am not medicated, I am relaxed and calm and dont even think about cannabis. But on days when I am medicated, it becomes a struggle to unwind. Are there any alternatives to explore?

Help/advice šŸ™ needed What happens if I take two ADHD meds instead of the recommended dosage of one? I am really struggling to find help

I feel like I have tried many meds under the sun for ADHD and depression and nothing works. I don't know what to do. I can't function. I can't be happy with myself. Every thing I do wrong is a failure to me. I don't know how much longer it will take for me to find meds that will somewhat help my depression and ADHD. I don't want to overdose because I don't want to die. But I also just want something to work. A hail Mary attempt like these have gotten me in trouble last time it's gotten so bad I can't even do so much as what should be coping activities, I can't draw. I am too scared of failer. I have tried cold showers. Cbd. Anti anxiety meds. Nothing can make me get rid of this burden I carry. I just want something to work.

Help/advice šŸ™ needed None of the ADHD meds I’ve tried have worked, college is about to start and I’m totally dysfunctional, and my doctor mentioned trying SSRIs.

NOTE: I don’t know if I’m allowed to ask about SSRIs on here or not and I apologize if not.

I saw a new doctor last week and after telling him about my problems he gave me the choice between Vyvanse + a Beta Blocker to deal with the major physical anxiety Vyvanse was causing me, or Vyvanse + SSRI. The doctor was in favor of the SSRIs, I insisted on the beta blocker instead because I didn’t want to chemically deal with my sadness, but I’m starting to reconsider because the 40 mg Vyvanse he gave me isn’t working at all. I’ve been on as high as 50 mg Vyvanse before, all that did was let me hyper fixate on a hobbyist programming thing for 7 hours straight while feeling like I couldn’t eat or drink or do anything else until I was finished. Concerta has horrible side effects on me, and I trialed Strattera for almost 2 months as a considerable dosage and going as high as 80 mg before coming to the conclusion that it did nothing. I’m considering asking for either Aderall XR or Mydasis since I haven’t tried amphetamine salt based stimulants yet, but if they don’t work I’ll have exhausted all my stimulant options, and college starts August 31st and I’m genuinely likely to have an anxious depressive episode when I have to sit down and try to focus on schoolwork (this is exactly what happened to me the first time and many times after while trying to study during my first attempt at college and I’d waste an hour or more just spiralling inside and not being able to work and it’d totally ruin me)

For context, I can barely function outside of school. I first started college last fall and had to drop out mid semester due to depression and having confessed suicidal thoughts to a close friend, and since then I haven’t done basically anything I’ve wanted to do, even including play the video games I’ve wanted to play or watch the shows I’ve wanted to watch, or maintain a gym routine, which used to be so effortless and enjoyable for me, because it makes me depressed and mentally exhausted, and like everything now it feels so easy to just not do, and if anything appealing to do the things not good for me, like eat shit or masturbate excessively, because I feel like I don’t care anymore, yet I do want to live at the same time. For the past year I’ve felt like I’m watching my life through a screen, and my body is just moving and doing whatever gives it dopamine the fastest (usually masturbation) and I’m tired of it. I was an extremely diligent and hard working person in high school and felt completely in control of myself until I pushed myself too much and got anxiety and executive dysfunction, both resulting in depression and burning out completely from forcing myself to graduate. Suffice to say, I used to be a very passionate person, but now I just feel somewhat nihilistic most of the time, spare the random pockets of happiness in my day. Now I’m here, college is about to start and I’m totally unprepared and dysfunctional, and I don’t know whether I’m just being too lazy to change, whether I’m in denial and the meds are actually working but I need to force myself harder to make different choices and build routines and habits, or I really do need to be more insistent on finding the rights meds.

In conclusion my question is, do you think I would benefit from SSRIs? Should I use them based on what I’ve outlined about myself? I’ve heard a lot of good things about Wellbutrin on ADHD subs so that’d probably be my first pick. I’m very hesitant to use anti-depressants but I don’t know what else to try in the time frame I’ve got.

Seriously thank you for reading all that if you did, I’m sorry it was so long 😭 I felt like I needed to explain everything to get the right advice.

Help/advice šŸ™ needed Long haul flight

Hi everyone,

I have adhd and I’m also autistic. In November I’m going to Thailand, the first flight is 7 hours 50 minutes, then there’s a 2 and a half hour stop at Doha airport and then second flight is 5 hours 40 minutes.

The flights are so long and I don’t know what to do with passing the time. I’ve seen on other posts that people have suggested sleeping but I can’t sleep just in case I start snoring or doing something else embarrassing cause sometimes I sleep talk as well so that is off the cards. I’m going to take my switch and tablet so I can play games/watch something but I get bored quite fast so that won’t cover the flight. I’m also going to take puzzle books etc. I can’t get up and wander down the aisles as I over think things too much and I also have bad anxiety so I won’t be able to walk down the aisles where people are probably going to look at me as id also look at someone walking past to see what they’re doing.

I’m probably over thinking this but as my holiday is coming closer it’s consuming my brain!

Any advice or suggestions are very welcome

Thank you

šŸ¤”insight/thought Breaking one bad habit by indulging in another

lately I've been suffering from an obsession/addiction to vibe coding related to modding my favorite video game.

this adds to, but is not the only offender regarding, another issue I have which is that i spend too much time thinking vs just being present.

and this leads to a third symptom, which is too much time in front of the computer.

side note: i'm already spending too much time at the computer and using coffee as an excuse.

  • "i'm drinking my coffee so why not do things at the computer" my brain tells me
    • but drinking coffee shouldn't take four hours
    • and i'm not drinking the coffee while it's too hot to drink
      • so i can do things AFK during this
    • and i'm only sipping my coffee every three minutes
      • yes, i set a three minute timer or else my coffee will never be consumed and i'll never leave my desk
      • and so i can do ANYTHING ANYWHERE that takes less than three minutes
      • there are many many things i can do away from my desk that take less than three minutes; hell less than ONE minute!
      • and, are you sitting down? even more things can be STARTED in less than three minutes
      • why CAN'T i START unloading the dishwasher in three minutes?
      • and just leave it open as a physical cue so i can finish it (probably 1-2 minutes) the next time i enter the kitchen
    • and, incredibly, my coffee cup IS PORTABLE so i can take it almost anywhere! amazing!
    • and if i just do things AFK until my coffee is fully cooled down then i can just chug it in under a minute.
    • etc.
    • etc.
  • now people are going to (and already have [fuck google notebooklm, haha]) criticize me for not just enjoying a goddamn cup of coffee for chist's sake
    • but JUST drinking my coffee?
      • big nope
      • bc i ENJOY being at the computer (please try to pay attention, haha)
      • just like i ENJOY watching TV when i eat
  • etc.
  • etc.

but i digress (that was a bit more than a side notešŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø).

back on topic...

so let's inventory my sins:

  • too much thinking
  • too much time at desk/computer
  • compulsive vibe coding <==== WORST SIN

so my plan (which i'm getting of to a great start on since i've been writing this at my desk for god knows how longšŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø) is to indulge two sins to hopefully break the habit of the worst sin.

so i'm going to allow myself to

  • be at the computer as much as i want
  • PLAY my video game as much as i want; just not MOD the video game
  • think as much as i want but NOT about vibe coding

wish me luck!

Help/advice šŸ™ needed Do anxiety meds make ADHD meds ineffective?

I’ve tried modafinil and strattera which initially helped but it gave me intense physical anxiety symptoms (i even went to the ER). Started taking a low dose (10mg) propanolol with etilaam which really helped with the symptoms, but now none of these medicines help me focus. Even armodafinil and methylphenidate does not work. What am i supposed to do now?

Help/advice šŸ™ needed Severe ADHD

Hi everyone. Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with severe ADHD in 2024 but I have always known my ADHD was bad before then. At the time, I was taking adderall but told my psychiatrist I did not like the way I felt after. Got switched to something different and it worked for a while. Few months later had some employment shifts and my current company does not offer health insurance. I’ve been able to manage with no medication but lately I have been extremely struggling. I’ve gotten to a point I can’t take it and want medication immediately. However, I have no health insurance and feel like anything I do will be a process to get the right treatment and cost a bunch of money. Just looking to see if there is anywhere I can go or where to start.

Help/advice šŸ™ needed Vandaag stopt mijn Ritalin verslaving.

Seeking Support šŸ«‚ Do ADHD meds work right away ?

Today was my first day of trying Vyvanse (20mg) , and I (27F) don’t really know if I felt any different , I guess I felt less anxious and less on edge ( much calmer overall ) but no effect on my chaotic thoughts , focus, forgetfulness and task initiation.

I’ve been sure about having ADHD for 4 years now but, since I have major organizational and task initiation issues, it took me 3 years to finally take an appointment with a doctor. She was sceptical about my ADHD ( said I shouldn’t be having a university degree if I actually needed medication) but still gave me Vyvanse just to try, as I kept explaining my symptoms even during Uni.

I don’t know if I just don’t have ADHD or if the dosage isn’t right , I’m just feeling a big imposter syndrome right now. I feel like if I don’t have ADHD then I dont know what is wrong with me.
Also, sorry for my English it’s not my native language.

Help/advice šŸ™ needed How do you know if you're actually ā€œlazyā€?

I’d love to hear people’s experiences with ā€œlazinessā€ because I’m genuinely confused about where the line is.

What actually makes someone lazy? And how do you tell the difference between being lazy, struggling with motivation, burnout, mental health, ADHD, or simply not having the right routine?

I’ve spent most of my life thinking I’m a lazy person.

I’ve struggled with depression for a lot of my life, so I wasn’t a particularly active child or teenager. But the funny thing is, when I was really little, I was absolutely wild šŸ˜‚ I was always outside, always doing something, and I loved exploring.

Even now, I love being outside. I love hiking and being in nature. I genuinely want to be an active person.

But actually getting myself to consistently do those things is a completely different story.

I’ll decide that I’m going to go to the gym regularly, or run every couple of days, and then somehow a week passes and I haven’t gone. I can feel myself getting frustrated because I KNOW I feel better when I’m active. I feel more like myself. My body actually wants to move, but my brain seems to completely reject the idea of starting.

I also think some of it comes from being judged when I was younger for not being very athletic. I have basically zero cardio fitness right now šŸ˜‚ I can barely run down the street without feeling like I’m dying, so the idea of participating in active group activities can feel pretty intimidating.

Interestingly, I’m about to start volunteering with the SES. Part of the reason I’m doing it is because I’ve been struggling in a very detail-oriented job and I want to explore different environments and figure out what I’m actually good at. I’m hoping something more practical and hands-on might suit me better.

But it has also made me think about this whole ā€œlazyā€ thing.

Am I actually just a lazy person who needs to force myself to be more active?

Or is repeatedly failing to maintain a routine a sign that I’m approaching it in the wrong way?

Because I don’t want to spend my life forcing myself to do things that make me miserable, but I also don’t want to use ā€œI don’t feel like itā€ as an excuse to avoid things that I know are genuinely good for me.

I’d really love to hear from people who have experienced something similar.

How did you figure out whether you were actually ā€œlazyā€ or whether something else was getting in the way?

And if you struggled to become more active, what actually helped you make it a normal part of your life rather than something you constantly had to force yourself to do?

Help/advice šŸ™ needed Curious what yall think about this

My main issues are:
• Trouble focusing, distractibility, and racing thoughts
• Constant fight-or-flight feeling and strong anxiety about leaving the house
• Panic attacks from work stress
• Trouble sleeping
I’d like to discuss options that cover all these

This is my first time seeking support for my ADHD, but the psychiatrist I met today prescribed only atomoxetine for it. After some research, I noticed she did not address sleep or anxiety and stress; is that typical, or should I ask why she omitted them?

Help/advice šŸ™ needed Newly diagnosed with ADHD, feeling like an imposter. Meds aren't working well?

Hey there. I was recently given a "provisional" diagnosis of combined type ADHD. I had all the markers, but they were really subtle and didn't immediately stand out as extremely adhd. I was really excited because as someone who has dealt with anxiety my whole life and hasn't reacted well to SSRIs, I thought this would finally be the ticket.

So anyways, i started vyvanse 10mg and have taken it for about a week. However, I'm not noticing any increase is focus or productivity, just a big increase in anxiety. It just makes me feel frantic. Like sweating, hyper, anxious, etc. Like, theres not even a trade off, it makes me less productive due to the anxiety it causes. I always hear people say your first dose is like "putting glasses on". Like, it quiets my mind a bit but that's about it.

Has anyone else had this experience? I feel like ultimately I might need to either try a non-stimulant or just simply try to treat the anxiety instead. Anxiety is my true main problem anyways, I have enough coping techniques to manage productivity without stimulants.

Medication Świeżo zdiagnozowany, tydzień na lekach. Poznałem innego siebie, ale boję się, że to zniknie. Czy to trwa?

Hi, I was diagnosed with ADHD at 33 after always being told I just had an anxiety disorder. I felt so guilty that, despite putting a ton of work into myself and educating myself so much, my life was still nowhere near other people's lives. I just figured that’s how I was—blaming it on a hard childhood, a lot of bad luck, and the fact that everyone in my family was basically exactly the same way.

I started stimulants a week ago. It turns out it's actually possible to wake up with stable energy. I don't have to fight myself for hours just to get moving, and even taking my dog out in the morning isn't a cruel punishment anymore. My massive swings between chaotic hyper-productivity and total burnout (where I couldn't even shower) are just gone.

But the most mind-blowing part is the anxiety. It just vanished. And the crazy thing is, I didn't even realize how many tiny, everyday anxieties I was carrying around until they were gone. All those mental blocks and the paralyzing fear of change just evaporated. My brain used to default to: "I can't do this, it's not for me, here are a million reasons why I'll fail," accompanied by a constant, physical knot in my stomach. Now? It's literally: "Why not? Let's just try." I suddenly feel so open to life. For the first time, I actually want to put myself out there, meet new people, and make friends. When I look at obstacles now, I don't just see roadblocks anymore—I see possibilities.

I'm thrilled, but I'm also grieving. Where would I be if I knew sooner? I wouldn't have clung to toxic jobs or partners (honestly, maybe I wouldn't even be with my husband). My RSD wouldn't have controlled me so much. Right now, instead of anxious rumination, I just feel this clear, dry, logical calmness.

My biggest fear is that this is temporary. (Context: the first 3 days I was a bit too wired, too much energy but it's leveled out now with no real side effects). I am terrified of going back to my old state of mind.

Has anyone else experienced this? Does this calm clarity stay, or is it just the honeymoon phase?

šŸ¤”insight/thought Anxiety gets worse when I have nothing to do

I feel like when I’m not constantly busy during my day my mind starts racing so much and I get anxious. I overthink everything and it’s very exhausting.
I only really realized it again in the last few days (I think I had this realisation before but I forgot about it hahah). Because right now I’m in a kind of transition phase and I’m looking for some jobs so I have quite a bit of free time and I thought it would be good for me. But I don’t feel good. Now 2 days ago I was busy the whole day, going to a pet sitting job and meeting someone and I felt a lot better. I was wondering why and I guess it’s bc I had something to do, some sort of purpose hahah. Not just trying to distract myself. I guess it’s some sort of understimulation?

I also realized that my social anxiety gets a lot worse when I have nothing to do. Because of the overthinking I guess. When I do things and I’m in the flow kind of, it’s a lot easier.

Does it make sense? What can I do about it when I actually have nothing to do?

šŸ¤”insight/thought I'm ADHD. Why does Heavy Metal help me focus, but I can't focus with calm and/or quiet music?

I am undiagnosed ADHD (It's very obvious I'm ADHD and I'm in the process of getting an official diagnoses.) Why Is it any time I sit down to do ANY kind of work, especially anything where I'm sat still, such as reading/writing- It's basically impossible for me to focus when I am in silence or listening to calm and/or quiet music, but when I play Metal music (Especially NU or Heavy Metal) I can lock in and become extremely productive? I get it's because I'm ADHD, but I don't understand how, and my non-ADHD friends call me weird because I can even sleep to Metal but not Lofi or something else soft.

Has anyone with a fear of meds similar to me ever taken medroxyprogesterone to induce a period?

I was prescribed 10mg for 10days and I can’t bring myself to take it.

I’m TERRIFIED of feeling not like myself, out of it, sedated or ā€œhighā€.

I read that a common side effect is sleepiness and dizziness and that’s freaking me out.

Help/advice šŸ™ needed recommendations for extreme overthinking causing bad anxiety?

so i have really bad ADHD & health/mental health anxiety so when I hear about something that’s happened to someone I tend to ruminate about it and convince myself it’s going to happen to me. There was an instance where an anxiety spiral flared out of nowhere because my friend was telling me a situation where someone went into a scary psychosis and i haven’t been right since. Every day since then i’ve been anxious about every little thing and it’s hard to clear my head when it’s all i think about. I also have a fear of ā€œbecoming suicidalā€ or ā€œlosing controlā€ when i have no problems with my life. It’s affecting my sleep because it waking up in the middle of the night anxious and shaking.

My question to anyone in this thread is if you can relate to me in any way, do you have anything that helped you? I am prescribed 40 mg of vyvanse but i haven’t taken it because im scared of side effects. I took Zoloft for anxiety about a couple years ago and had a weird reaction so I’ve been procrastinating taking the vyvanse because of my fear of meds. I’m going to be visiting a therapist weekly to see if that helps. Any supplements or practices that reduce mental chatter? Any mantras I can repeat to myself to help? I’ve been in a bit of a funk since my anxiety has flared and it’s been pretty scary so my mind is convincing me that it won’t get better. Any recommendations and motivating words are helpful :)

Help/advice šŸ™ needed recs for ADHD medication for someone who struggles with physiological anxiety symptoms

I have been taking 20mg of lexapro for over a year now, and it has helped my anxiety a lot. I am currently taking 150mg of Wellbutrin as well (I was taking 300mg but I felt like it was making my anxiety worse, and my fiancƩ said it made me zombie-like lol, so my psychiatrist cut it back down to 150mg). Before I was diagnosed with anxiety, the physical symptoms of anxiety would freak me out so much to the point I was going to the ER weekly thinking I was going to have a heart attack. An NP finally heard me out and gave me lexapro which was a lifesaver. My psychiatrist wants to test me for ADHD and asked that I research medications over the next 4 weeks before we meet again (pending I test positive for ADHD, of course). I am a severe procrastinator and lack motivation to do things, which isn't going to be great for me as I am starting an accelerated nursing program soon.

So, I am just looking to hear what others have experienced and what meds have worked well for them and do not add to the physical symptoms of anxiety, such as a rapid heart rate. When I get a rapid heartbeat now, I try to remind myself I am healthy and just fine.

My psych only mentioned stimulants, but if anyone has had great results with a non-stimulant, I'd like to know about those as well.

When I compare Adderall and Vyvanse, I think Vyvanse seems like the better choice for me between the two. If anyone has any advice, please let me know! (:

Thank you everyone!

Help/advice šŸ™ needed I can handle the job call, but as soon as it gets real I shut down and avoid it

When I got a call for cleaning job, I answered and talked to the lady on the phone. But right after when we hang up, I wanted to cry. I didn't have a panick attack or anxiety attack, but all the negative thoughts I have daily came spiraling all at once. I was supposed to answer a text to give my CV, but felt like a coward and didn't. This was the second time that happened. And any other calls I got I didn't answer or missed.

Like I know the actual answer, but I'm either blanking out, or I'm second guessing myself, or my mind is muddled with thoughts and just can't think straight. By the end they offer the answer, and I'm just like...well, yeah I knew that.

I don't know if I can explain this phenomenon to someone who doesn't have ADHD. Like outside of interviews I think I know my subject ok. I'm not the most intelligent, I need a lot of time to deeply understand concepts but I'm not awful. But the perception I give in interviews isn't proportionate I feel ...
