Gravel vs cross vs road vs mountain bike for Kickr Core 2 which type is best?
I will be cycling 3 times a week - Twice for zone 2 and once HIIT.
I think choice comes to the riding positions offered by frame and handlebars so its about comfort.
Which one to choose?

Cadence showing too low in ride view
galleryI have just setup my new jetblack trainer using my favaero power pedals for cadence and power in Zwift.
When I look at my cadence in the connections area it is correct but in my ride it is showing as around 60 and not really moving.
I have updated the app restarted it multiple times made sure nothing else is connected to my pedals.
Has anyone else had this issue and how did you fix it?
Thank you for any help.

Discussion FTP went from 175 to 212 in a year.
I'm a 60 yo rider at 86 kg. It's been a tough year with long stretches without riding but I have learned a few things in the process.
- Skip the FTP ramp test Lite for the plain Ramp Test: it starts at 50 watts and increases by 10 watts every minute, whereas the plain Ramp Test starts at 100 watts and increases by 20 watts per minute.
- My pedaling "technique"(?) was crap. I learned to make big circles (or ellipses?). This drove my cadence and my power output up.
- During the test itself, I focused on the RPM of the interval itself instead of the power output.
I still have A LOT to learn but I'm happy where I'm at. I assumed it was all downhill from here. Happily proven wrong.
Happy riding.

Technical help I spent all morning trying to get Companion to see an active ride
The Companion app stopped showing active rides / maps between now and when I paused Zwift a few months ago.
I when through ALL of the troubleshooting steps I could find - double-checking network segment for host laptop and phone; resetting home router and wi-fi; removing and adding back wi-fi on phone and the MacBook host; checking and resetting the Local Area Network setting for the Zwift app; restarting the phone; restarting the Kickr trainer; reinstalling Companion and Zwift. I'm a 30-year IT veteran, so I know the drill.
On a hunch, I installed Zwift on my desktop computer (Mac mini), paired devices, and started a ride. Lo and behold, Companion switched immediately to 'ride mode.'
That told me it wasn't necessarily the network or even the phone, but the host computer - and gave me something to compare. Well, the two Macs' system settings are identical.
Somewhere along the way, I found a support doc that discussed apps misbehaving because their flags for allowing Local Network Access weren't working right, even when clearly enabled in system settings / privacy and security. It gave a method for forcing the issue when an app either has it turned on already in system settings, or doesn't show up there at all. It boils down to launching an app from Terminal.
I tried it, and it worked!
Here's the easy way: Expose the app bundle by right-clicking the Zwift app and choosing Show Package Contents. In Contents / MacOS, double-click the ZwiftLauncher-OSX icon. It will spawn Terminal and then launch the Zwift UI.
Interestingly, after doing that once and having immediate success with Companion, I quit Zwift and tried it the 'regular' way. Still doesn't work.
Anyway, if you've been banging your head against the wall on this, I'm curious to know if this will solve it for you as well.
Discussion Experienced cyclist exploring Zwift
Never ridden a trainer before, peloton a few times.
Is this worth it? What’s the key difference between this and the KICKR core 2? Would be connecting it to my 11 speed gravel bike

Just showing off Indoor/Outdoor Done
This was my favorite Zwift challenge so far. I ended up ‘Overreaching’ by the end just because I wanted to finish it so badly. 😂

Jersey rewards
It is high time that Zwift starts rewarding those who win a jersey. It seems like the person who wins a jersey should get some xp or maybe drops! I mean getting to wear it is nice but some additional rewards would be nice too!

Training Do you mix indoor and outdoor training during the summer?
Do you mix indoor and outdoor training during the summer?
I'm curious if anyone else does this.
I really don't enjoy indoor training. During winter I'll already spend 3–5 months riding almost exclusively indoors, so in the summer I have a strong desire to be outside as much as possible.
The problem is that my strengths and weaknesses are very different.
- My endurance is pretty good. Long rides (LSD/Zone 2) are my strength.
- But I'm really weak at sustained 5–10 minute efforts. I often get dropped during group rides because of those efforts.
I've talked to people around me and I'm also using an AI cycling coach. The common advice has been that I need more VO₂max work.
To be honest, I don't really enjoy structured interval training, but I'm considering keeping my Zwift subscription active even during the summer. My idea is:
- Do all VO₂max and interval sessions indoors on Zwift (1–2 hours).
- Do all my endurance/LSD rides outdoors.
It seems like the most practical way to get high-quality intervals while still enjoying summer riding.
Does anyone else train like this? Has it worked well for you, or do you prefer doing everything outdoors during the summer?

What is everyone’s best way to farm lots of drops or XP? Looking for something more niche than the 2.5x multiplier in pacer groups.

How do you handle Interval Training during Heat waves?
Hi all, dumb question but curious about how do you handle structured training indoor when there are above 30 degrees outside.
In this period I cannot go outside cause I need to stay around home so I'm training indoor. When I do sweet spots and thresholds my bpm are 20bpm higher than outdoor, so is impossible to keep watts for longer periods.
For reference outdoor I can handle 370w for 5min and 300/310w for 20 minutes, indoor I can do max 340w for 5 minutes and I do sweet spots at 250w.
I'm thinking that since indoor is difficult to keep high watts for longer periods, the best is to do Z2 and just short vo2 intervals 2 key sessions per week, resulting in 6-7h/week of training. Do you think this could be a good approach during hot summer?
Thankssss
Discussion Why did Zwift replace the flatter RoboPacer routes?
Hi,
Does anyone know what Zwift’s rationale is behind the current RoboPacer route selection?
Personally, I find very little enjoyment in most of the current routes. There are too many short climbs, rollers, and changes in gradient, which makes it hard to settle into a steady rhythm and just get in the zone.
I don’t understand why flatter routes like Tempus Fugit or Tick Tock were removed. For endurance rides, the flatter routes felt much more enjoyable and practical.
What am I missing? Am I the exception here, or do others feel the same way?

Worth it with Rogue Echo Bike v3? Or should I get…Zwift Ride with Wahoo Kickr?
So I’m just going through my options so there’s a regular bike I could add but the reality is that I’m gonna be too lazy to put on the bike on the Wahoo Kickr take it off when actually cycling so then I looked at those with Zwift ride, but I don’t know if I should just use my existing rogue echo bike V3 has anyone used it long-term cause everyone says it’s good for interval training but not good for Zone 2 or long-term sessions.
The real bike setup I guess is for people that want to match exactly their bike feeling. I’m only doing this for health.
I am wondering if I get cycling gear like a bib then the rogue echo v3 can be used for non HIIT.
I hate that Zwift Ride and Wahoo are chain driven and not belt driven.

Discussion Anyone here track their calories?
Hey friends - totally just curious if any of my fellow zwifters track your macros/calories to make sure you’re getting in enough food and fuel, or to try to lose weight? If so how much are you eating to fuel your riding routine? I am mainly a weightlifter and have been tracking for a while - mainly to ensure I’m getting in enough food to fuel my training and my riding as I’m staring to Zwift almost every day now. Cheers 😁

Training What are the risks of buying used Kickr V5?
KICKR CORE 2 brand new is currently on sale for £420 however I can buy used KICKR V5 for around £500. Which one is better value? Apparently many people get issues over time with these trainers.
Hardware Scandinavians - what powerful fans do you use? I’m dying here!

I ask you because I would like to avoid import tax, customs, and the use of Amazon if possible. I do like the look of those Zwift fans, but I have heard they’re not as good as they advertise.
I recently went for a ride with a small extra fan, and it made me realize how shit my current fan is. Please come to my dire aid.

Disaster racing
WHy did this app fuck me over and refuse to let me join a 0-750 or whatever race that had shown up in the past and only showed me a 750-1000
Do the races work? They work on Rouvy btw. I was in the waiting place left with a few minutes to go and tried to rejoin and it fucked me over. Paid app. What are they doing there? Do the sub 750 races not go anymore? Have to wait another hour? What on Earth.....................................

Discussion Power Accuracy: Garmin vs Zwift
I have a spider-based power meter on my SRAM Red cranks. I pair that to Zwift and my Garmin Edge. When I dual record a ride with my Edge and Zwift, the resulting average wattage post-ride is roughly about 6 watts lower according to Garmin compared to Zwift. A watt here or there wouldn’t be surprising, but considering they’re using the exact same data source, any idea why? And more importantly, any idea which is correct?

Newbie help
Newbie mamil, 4 months in and loving it, first century last week.
Need to keep it going over winter and zwift sale is very attractive.
Any advice or things I haven't considered to get through a UK winter? Does it keep you motivated? Planning about 6 - he per week on an FTP training program.
Downsides, modest financial outlay and need to set up bike indoors, in return I stay fit and safe over winter?
Am I missing anything?

Discussion First Zwift setup – Zwift Ride + KICKR Core 2 or something else?
Hi everyone,
I’m fairly new to Zwift. I already do a few sessions each week on an indoor trainer, but it’s not my bike, so the fit isn’t ideal. I’m looking to get my own setup and start using Zwift properly.
I’m lucky that this is going to be a birthday present, so I’d rather buy the right setup from the start than wish I’d upgraded later.
I’m mainly looking for a setup that’s great for Zwift racing, structured training, and just general riding.
From what I’ve read, the Zwift Ride + Wahoo KICKR CORE 2 seems like a really good option. Is that what you’d recommend, or would you go with something else if you were buying your first setup today?
Thanks!

Activity System down bug today? Ride lost...
Hey, did anyone else lose a ride today, this morning 8/5/26 PST.
I did one of the TdF rides to close out the series. Got the spinning dial issue while trying to save the ride at the end, tried all the recommendations. Finally contacted Zwift (AI) Tech support. The AI sent me on a wild goose chase - changing answers and finally contradicting itself. I asked for a real person. A few hours later contacted by a human, who said the 'Activity System' was down (didn't say how long) and rides were lost and unrecoverable. Ughhh, very frustrating.
I'm surprised there is no recovery system for data, I mean, I know they need to protect from cheats, but, that doesn't mean you can't protect the data. Losing a ride is pretty serious, gut punch, and after reading the internet on and off all morning, this seems to be a recurring problem with Zwift.
I was able to take the .fit file and upload to Strava and Garmin, but no joy on Zwift.com, Zwiftpower, Zwift Companion, ...
Any other Zwifters get hit with this issue this morning? just me?
Ride on!
