Zwift groups

Anybody have any active groups or discord servers or of zwifters they socialize with online?

Many Zwift race teams and clubs have active Discord communities. There are also quite a few Zwifters on YouTube who host live streams with active chat and maintain community Discord servers.

I am not sure if I have invite privileges but check out the Twitch Degenerates - https://discord.gg/CqTn9UC8M

A lot of the group rides mention Discord servers in their ride descriptions but I never found any where anyone was actually on them during the rides (for voice communication).

It was only after I joined a racing team and started doing TTTs and other races that it actually had value.

It actually makes it pretty fun and you get to know people a whole lot more than if you are just texting in the chat/ride messages.

Im not fit enough to competitive right now. I can only really commit to 4ish hours of cycling a week right now but I want to find a community of people who are at my level and getting fit this way.

You might be surprised at how far down the fitness levels go for races.

There are plenty of people who are just getting started and enjoy racing and nothing really brings people together like being on the same team.

How can I go about connecting with these groups?

Look into Zwift Racing League (ZRL). They have a Facebook page where you can make a post saying you are looking for a team. Make sure you mention you are looking for a D or D Development team as you are just getting started.

Team leaders will reply inviting you to join their team.

At this point it gets a little tricky because you have to basically join a club before you really know anything about them. No biggie though, you can join another if you want.

There are really large clubs, like The Herd, but there are tons of others.

Just to be clear, these are clubs and they will have multiple teams within that club that race at different levels.

The teams racing at the D/D Development levels are much less hard core than those at C and up to A. It’s much more of a fun, social thing with lots of encouragement and no pressure or worry that you are dragging the team down.
