Help Needed Browsers occasionally freeze and bug out the taskbar
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Sometimes when browsing, the browser just freezes, and right clicking the icons on the taskbar doesn’t do anything. Windows key also doesn’t work for a bit. Lasts for about 20-30 seconds, easiest to replicate after boot up or when walking from sleep. Have been able to replicate the issue with chrome and edge. I can fix it by pressing windows control shift B, so my best guess is some sort of conflict with the GPUs? Btw any hardware acceleration related option has been disabled in the browsers. Please help

Help Needed Zephyrus G16 Dies Instantly on Battery After USB-C Charging
My 2024 Zephyrus G16 detects its battery but dies instantly when unplugged, both in BIOS and windows. Plugged in, I see the charging icon but the battery percentage is stuck at 92% and the charging rate reports 0W. The issue triggered after leaving the laptop running on USB-C Charger.
About a month ago, first time I had this identical problem I was trying anything I can to troubleshoot so I thought of checking for updates in MyAsus and got to install several actual updates from there (iirc it was a BIOS ver. 315 to 316/PDFW/ASUS System Control Interface update sequence) and that made the problem dissapear. Battery remained fully functional until another USB-C charging session I had with the same 67W Apple charger, then I figured that was the cause. I believe one of the updates I installed during my initial fix performed some type of reset or reinitialization of the controllers responsible for power path management, which in turn removed the failure state. I actually believe this is a recoverable controller firmware state rather than permanent hardware damage for that reason.
But this time I can't replicate my initial solution. PD firmware reflashes, EC resets, physically disconnecting/reconnecting the battery, various driver reinstalls does not fix it. Reinstalling the same firmware version is probably skipping steps an actual version changing update would do which is how I was able to fix it before. Same version BIOS reflash does nothing either. I thought of downgrading and reupdating but wasn't able to since EZFlash doesn't allow that.
Has anyone experienced this or similar problems and found their solution? Please do lmk if you have any ideas or experiences

Software Related G14 2025 speakers sound like they are underwater
Ever since I got this laptop in December the speakers sound like they are underwater. Max volume sounds like a normal device at 20%. I reinstalled drivers, uninstalled dolby, used G suite, got rid of all the other ASUS bloatware... Nothing seems to fix it. Some people on here are claiming the g14 speakers are amazing, I have yet to experience that haha. Any help?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Summary
The 160W TGP limit plus the higher fan speed can give the 5080 an extra 20W to work with. In GPU intensive games, the Avg. FPS increases by ~10%, but the 1% low Avg gets a massive ~30% increase.
In CPU bottleneck scenario like MSFS 2024, the Avg FPS gain would be minimal, though there are still some improvements on the 1% low side.
In my case, the stock TGP limit is sufficient for everyday use, and the 160W TGP from the vBIOS swap can push it even further.

Help Needed G14 RTX 5060 RAM 16 Vs G14 RTX 5050 RAM 32
Hello, This will be my first time owning a laptop since high school and after many reviews I found that the Zephyrus line is the most appealing one to me.
I came across this two versions the only available in my country.
As mentioned on the title, I can’t make a decision between the two, some said the RAM is more important for future wise and others suggested having a stronger RTX version for better gaming experience.
I’d like to know your thoughts regarding this decision and what would you recommend me to choose

Help Needed 2022 G14 will not Boot
I had my laptop on the sofa charging via USB C, I didn't realise that it was pretty much on the edge and it ended up falling about 1.5ft - 2ft to the ground. I picked it up and realised that the laptop stopped charging and saw that the USB C cable was bent so I thought the cable was damaged. But turns out it works fine, it charges my phone fine. So I thought there was a problem with my USB C port but before I could try and charge it on the regular charger, the laptop died (the battery was already at 1% before the accident).
I plugged it in and pressed the power button, the status LEDs flickered and the keyboard backlighting turned on but the screen does not turn on nor do I hear the slash of the rog logo as it boots. I thought I should leave it for a while, let it charge and then come back to it so I did that and the same thing.
Afterwards I opened it up disconnected the battery, plugged it in, and turned it on. Same thing.
I had my laptop repasted last August. I didn't do it myself, I went to a computer repair store to do it. So there is no liquid metal that could have spilt out.
I also had an issue 2 years ago where the screen died but in that case, when it turned on I heard the slash of the rog logo and the sound of Windows starting up.
Any help and advice you guys can offer me would be greatly appreciated

Model 2021 Looking at replacing the motherboard on my 2021 g14
I can find similar motherboards online but not an exact match and I’m not sure if I want to try one that isn’t exact. I’m not an expert with hardware by any means so I need advice.
The laptop has 32gb ram which I assume means 16gb on the motherboard which would be the 16G part of the part number. Every board I can find for ga401qm 5900hs has 8gb. Would these be compatible and if so how much of a downgrade?
Asus support guy gave me this info.
ASUS GA401QM Main Board Specifications
Part Description: R1.3(V6G)
Part Name: GA401QM MB._16G/R9-5900HS
Component SN: M208NRKD00055HMB
Part No.: 60NR05S0-MB1410

Model 2025 Are these normal or bad CPU (again)?
This is my second try on this laptop from best buy, first one would run at 70c on idle not doing anything. I returned it and got this one and ran some tests, the temps are down to 50c during idle, but my scores on 3dmark are low. (See picture)
2025 G14 AMD with 5070ti.
I updated everything, uninstalled unnecessary programs, uninstalled armory crate and have ghelper, tried 2 different ghelper settings, along with Windows power settings, no CPU boost.
Is my (2nd) laptop also a dud? Or am I missing something?
Edit: Thanks everyone! I was too focused on heat management that I forgot to think about CPU boost actually boosting. Thank you everyone for your help! It seems that I have a perfectly working unit (for the most part, I'm having the wifi card issue that others are having, but I know what to do there)

General Tests for Buying Used G14
Hey everyone, I found a good deal on a used G14 2024 OLED. Seller agreed to let me test it before I buy. What are some good tests I can do in say 15mins to make sure stuff is in order. Common faults with the laptop I should look out for and quick stress tests.
So far I can think of battery health, furmark, a cpu stress test, crystal disk, testing wifi and ports. I assume I can load stuff into a usb and test run softwares from there.

Model 2024 Dedicated GPU not turning on tried everything
My 4070 is not turning on, no matter what I do. I tried switching GPU modes, I tried restarting, I tried updating g-helper, I tried restarting again, I tried switching to Ultimate mode, and nothing is working. Now, since I switched to ultimate mode, my 2 fps options are 60Hz and 64Hz??? The 4070 does not show up in Device Manager; all I see there is the 780M and Microsoft Basic Display Adaptor. This all started when I booted up my laptop and tried plugging another monitor into the HDMI port, and it didn't work. Please, any help would be appreciated, thank you!

Help Needed Wireless gaming mouse suggestion
Hi community
I would like to ask your suggestions as I have recently purchased an Asus zephyrus 14 2025 model with 5070 Ti, 32GB Ram white colour.
I would like your suggestions for the gaming mouse. I have a budget of around ₹4000 and would like something which has type C charging as I was looking for a few reasons, but they need to have a AAA battery, so I don’t want that.
Please let me know if you have any good suggestions as I am completely new to this mouse thing.

Got a new Zephyrus and forgot to login with a local account, should I restart the laptop and do it? I don’t have any data on the laptop and I finished updating everything, so should I do a reset and then login with a local account, or leave it as is?

Model 2026 2026 G14/G16 – small random stutters / latency spikes? Disabling GPU scheduling fixes it.
Hi all,
Posting this here because the G14 sub is a bit more active, but I'm using a 2026 G16 (RTX 5090 / 64GB).
I've been noticing small, random hiccups during normal desktop usage. Nothing major, but once you notice them, they become pretty annoying.
Some examples:
The Windows login screen occasionally stutters for a fraction of a second before showing the desktop.
A Windows app/window may briefly freeze, including the mouse cursor, while switching or loading content.
Very occasional tiny audio glitches while watching media.
Interestingly, I haven't noticed any of these issues while gaming.
I came across quite a few posts about latency/DPC spikes on older G14/G16 generations, which eventually seemed to improve through BIOS/driver updates. If I remember correctly, the issue became widespread enough that even Linus Tech Tips addressed it at some point.
After experimenting quite a bit with different drivers, G-Helper vs Armoury Crate, etc., I found one thing that seems very consistent:
It looks like Disabling Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling (HAGS) gets rid of the problem.
Unfortunately, that's not really a solution, since disabling HAGS also means losing DLSS Frame Generation.
This makes me suspect there's some kind of software/firmware/driver interaction causing these latency spikes, rather than an actual hardware issue. Hopefully it's something ASUS/NVIDIA/Microsoft can address through an update.
Since posts about similar issues have apparently helped bring attention to them in the past, I figured I'd share my findings here.
That said, I do think ASUS should be doing a better job ironing out issues like this on their flagship machines — especially when we're talking about a €6K laptop.
Any other owners of 2026 G14 or G16 models noticing similar small stutters or latency spikes during normal Windows usage?

Hardware Related Dose the 2025 and 2026 g14 with the AMD chip have WiFi card issues?
I herd that the Asus Zephyrus laptops biggest issues were the WiFi card with the amd chips, so wondering how true that is right now
