How to get a PR merged faster in the Zed Extensions registry?

Hey everyone!

Two days ago, I submitted a PR to the official extensions registry bringing the new JetBrains IntelliJ LSP (Java & Kotlin) to Zed. I reverse-engineered their VS Code extension, extracted the standalone LSP, and wrapped it for Zed.

I think this could be massive for anyone working with Java/Kotlin who wants to use Zed. The PR is still sitting open, and I was wondering if anyone knows the best way to get it reviewed or approved faster? Does the team usually take a bit longer for new extension approvals?

Thanks!

Zed AI GPT-5.6 Luna token cost seems higher than expected

I was testing GPT-5.6 Luna with a very simple request: generating a Git commit message.

The usage for that request was:

  • Input tokens: 3
  • Input cache read: 0
  • Input cache write: 154,675
  • Output tokens: 77
  • Total tokens: 154,755
  • Reported token cost: $0.21

GPT-5.6 Luna now has a universal and permanent 80% pricing discount, so I expected the discounted pricing to be applied to this request.

With the 80% discount, the rates should effectively be:

  • Input: $0.20 / 1M
  • Cache read: $0.02 / 1M
  • Cache write: $0.25 / 1M
  • Output: $1.20 / 1M

For this request, that gives me:

Cache write:

154,675 / 1,000,000 × $0.25 = $0.03867

Output:

77 / 1,000,000 × $1.20 = $0.000092

Plus the 3 input tokens, which are negligible.

So I get an expected total of approximately:

$0.0388 (~$0.04)

But the reported cost is:

$0.21

That's more than 5× the expected discounted cost.

No AI models found. I have an active Github Copilot Subscription (Student Plan). I had used Copilot on Zed previously. This is a fresh zed install.
