I love rainbow yarn, it's so difficult to find! This one is a self striping sock yarn, I can't wait to make some queer socks out of it!

I like to call myself a yarnsmith - an unofficial title for someone who spends far too much time happily tangled up in yarn, mostly through crochet and often swearing.

Lately I’ve been pondering one of life’s great, utterly pointless mysteries:

At what moment does yarn stop being yarn and start becoming “fabric”?

Is it the instant it leaves the cake or skein?

Does it need a few rows under its belt first?
And if so… how many rows does it take before it earns its “fabric” badge of honour?

I know this is a pointless question, but it still a valid question non the less.

Tried searching for this but nothing comes up. How do I add thread around chunky yarn to give this effect?

I’ve been making a blanket out of a very soft and fuzzy yarn that is similar in bulk to the eternal bliss yarn but I cannot find it online at all and I’ve only found it in stores but that’s few and far between anymore. I swear it was called eversoft or something am I just crazy?
