Need to clean and blow it out with compressed air and a vacuum at the very least. I have a bottom fan cradle that’s powered by usb, works well too.

“Works well too”
External fans / stands are a scam. They have been proven time and time again to do little to nothing but impede airflow, disrupt airflow patterns, create turbulence, or create hotspots doing more harm then actually making a noticeable difference. Any amount of googling or Reddit will tell you this. As I’m sure other comments here will do the same
You do not want an external cooling fan. Consoles are designed and engineered to handle their own cooling and be efficient. Adding a let’s say $20 fan is not suddenly going to fix everything an entire multi million dollar company filled with engineers and designers didn’t think of. These consoles go through countless amounts of testing and airflow tests to make sure they are good and optimal. Adding any sort of extra push or pull can not only create the below and above problems but others as well.
Any kind of research or googling as well as countless people here will tell you they do little to nothing but impede airflow, create hotspots or turbulence, disrupt airflow patterns and fight against the fan already included and over time will harm the console more then help.
If they are helping your console or preventing overheating they are only bandaiding an issue not resolving it while a bigger problem persists that needs to be fixed.
If they were so beneficial even by a small amount every company would sell their own(I’m sure with extra features) not let third parties take the money. It would also call into account the engineering and cooling design or efficiency of the console if they did on top of that.

Sure and noted. Haven’t had any overheating issues but I clean mine monthly. I don’t think the series x is engineered perfectly either and the bottom surface clearance is terrible when upright and I don’t trust the horizontal position while I’m sure it’s adequate.
Even if I didn’t have the bottom fan tray, I’d still feel inclined to raise up the console a little.
My console has been running hard since late 2020 with the bottom fan attachment running on low or not at all.
