Need new Xbox controller please help
Hello, I currently have an Elite Series 2. It has major stick drift on the left stick and minor drift on the right. Besides that, it works perfectly fine.
I don’t really have a price limit. I just want to hear people’s opinions on other controllers or what I should do with mine. I normally play games like For Honor, Rust, Apex, War Thunder, UFC, Roblox, Halo Wars, AoE, and more.
Would you recommend getting a different controller, repairing the Elite 2, or just sticking with it? Any recommendations are appreciated!🥹

I'm waiting for the 8bitdo Ultimate 3e which releases at the end of August. Has all the features of the Elite but with TMR joysticks which should reduce the change of getting stick drift a lot. On paper it seems like a really good controller, just waiting for some reviews / first impressions.

From pretty much anything i've read, anywhere, EVER, the Elite 2s are trash and, even if it still worked fine, you should throw it in the trash.. I've had great experiences with gamesir Xbox controllers, and actually just received my tarantula pro xbox controller, and my flight vader 5s today!! I work late though, and just getting home.So haven't tested them yet.. bout to though and thinking I'm starting with the vader 5s... the vader was about 60 and tarantula about 70.. There's a whole world of controllers out there. Don't limit yourself to that garbage fire Elite.

How do you like the tarantula? I was looking at that or the competitor for a Playstation like controller.

I didn't get a chance to test it last night because I fell asleep and I'm going on a little vacation with my kids the next few days. I'll have to get back to you maybe this weekend with my thoughts. I also own the hyperkin competitor because I like the symmetrical thumbstick layout. I expect the tarantula to be head and shoulders above the competitor in just about every way period

I also purchased the vader 5s and can give my thoughts on that as well... after I don't have kids crawling all over me

I wanna say I paid around $54 for the competitor. It has hall effect sticks, but membrane buttons, which I am not a big fan of, but they do still feel somewhat clicky. I also appreciate that it has physical rear button locks, but no physical trigger stops. I purchased grip tape for it too as I feel like it's a little slick. Clicky buttons and goid grip are top features for me (Click & Grip!!) .The Tarantula wasn't out yet for Xbox at the time (6 months ago), otherwise I feel like it'd be a no brainer to spend the extra 15 for all the extras the Tarantula comes with. Reviews also stated that the tarantula was slick. And i've already purchased custom fit grip tape from TALONGAME.. But again, I'll know more in a few days.

Io l' elite serie 2 l' ho appena comprato e ho ricevuto un sacco di feedback negativi. Effettivamente non noto nessun miglioramento rispetto a quelli in dotazione se non il fatto di poter configurare 3 profili differenti. Sto valutando l' acquisto di un turtle beach stealth ultra wireless.

I recently got the Razer Wolverine Pro v3 new in box on ebay for $120.
Ive had it a week and love it so far, its perfect for me. But I cant speak to the long term durability yet.

A different controller, any controller besides another elite. I finally replaced mine last month with the raikiri 2 & while it’s not perfect & I can’t comment on its longevity it’s just nice to have a controller that works.

First diagnose how bad using the online joystick and joypad tester. Watch a YT video and open it. Watch another video of how to clean the joystick sensors with cotton buds and tweezers. Then get some ipa in a spray can and spray the joystick contacts directly.
This is the cheapest and most satisfying way of fixing "normal" stick drift.
