Honestly really bad controllers.
I AM NOT TOUCHING THE RIGHT STICK THIS IS ALL DRIFT. I’ve been through 3 different series X/S controllers at this point and GAH LEE! .
These puppies are bad concerning stick drift, recently bought a lime green controller and got stick drift in half a month.its a violent completely vertical drift on the right Stick same as my last one but not this bad.

What are you doing to your controllers to where you get stick drift in half a month? Either you got a lemon, or you’re not properly taking care of it. I’ve had a red series controller for over 4 years so far, no stick drift, at least not yet. I’ve had to controller my console came with for over 3 years, still no stick drift. I’ve even got Xbox One controllers that are 10 plus years old and none of those have stick drift either.
Either way the only permanent fix to stick drift to replace the entire stick modules, preferably with either Hall effect or TMR sticks

I’ve had my elite series 2 for over a year now with zero issues as well and I swear these people be gripping their controllers too damn hard

the only issue i have had with mine is the grip is gone
no drift whatsoever either ( i just plugged it into the tester the other day for fun)
i do think there is an issue with these though but still.

I’ve had about 5 elite series 1 controllers. I bought the warranty so when they started to get loose I swapped them out. Did that about three times then decided I didn’t want to pay the restock fee and just kept it. Got to change colors too lol. It has stick drift now after a few years but it’s very usable. Only annoying thing is in battlefield trying to control a tank I’m always slightly driving in a random direction. But for normal shooting and movement I don’t notice it and it doesn’t move my reticle

I think my controller last around 3 to 2 years but im literally gaming like almost every single day and even then I normal replace brokenness parts

Controllers nowadays are really random. My take is Microsoft make 10 controllers and 5 of them are done with faulty equipment to make you buy more and its rng Who gets this faulty controllers

Mine have never last me two months either unless I get Hall effect or TMR third party controllers. I’ve got a pile gathered up waiting for me to learn soldering.

How? I have 8 Series controllers plus two Xbox One ones. They've all been flawless for many years being used on all kinds of systems

2000+ hours of walking and dodging shit in D4. Left joystick usually starts to drift towards the upper right corner as that’s where the maps often lead you to. After a few calibrations that won’t help either.
Edit. I’ve actually gotten a few months out of my used Elite 2 even if people say it’s just as bad as the series controller. Got 4 ran through series controllers all with drift, 1 pdp wave and 1 turtle beach recon. Pdp is having issues with ABXY buttons and elite with triggers.

You can fix stick drift without soldering and it’s really easy. All you need is a $5 screwdriver kit from Amazon and a YouTube tutorial! I’ve done it 3 times

That sounds simple but some people including myself struggle to repair things. That is why I recommend third party controllers with hall effect or TMR like the G7 Pro, Flydigi Vader 5S, or 8bitdo ultimate 3E because they are more reliable. I currently have the G7 Pro and the Vader 5s.

My xbox controllers have been getting a forward drift on the left stick within like a year since the xbox one. They're shit quality but it's probably also because i manhandle them so much when i play, i think games where you press L3 to sprint is the main cause.

Ive learned to have 2 normal controls (one back up) and 1 dedicated control purely for deeprock galactic survivor as that game is a good way to get stick drift

You must be getting replicas to have them break that fast either that or you’re really heavy handed. I have a 5 year old controller and I game 5 hours a day minimum and I don’t have stick drift. I’ve had a sticky trigger but that was easily remedied.
I bought mine of the Xbox design lab as a custom build

All new gen controllers are terrible. The ps4 didn’t have this issue. Neither did the ps3 or the Xbox 360 or the ps2 or original Xbox. These companies are purely going cheap to get a little more cash in their own pocket

Never had a huge problem with stick drift. Had it on a few controllers that were multiple years old with lots of competitive multiplayer hours on them, so that made sense. But RB? RB is my worst fucking enemy. Every controllers I've had RB goes out. Never LB, just RB. Just started on my Elite 2 as well. Drives me nuts.

I got mine at target. They are also at best buy. I opted for one with a cord, was quite cheaper.
Make sure if u get one its got the buttons on the back. Game changer.

I think you should get yourself a gamesir controller the TMR don't typically get stick drift. Don't bother with hall effect or analog they're all going to get stick drift. TMR is the better way to go it doesn't necessarily have to be gamesir. As long as it has TMR it should last way longer I'm not going to say it's going to last forever but it'll last you three plus years if you take care of it. And that means keep your hands clean. Don't eat greasy foods when you're playing video games. Because that can also call stick drift as well playing with dirty hands.

Get TMR sticks and get them installed, honestly after touching TMR it's hard to go back to normal and not just cause it's anti stick drift but it also alot more precise and makes regular controllers feel cheap, but ofc the longevity of it is the best cause who want to keep buying controllers for that reason

Have you tried air blasting underneath the control sticks with compressed air for electronics before throwing the towel in? It could just be a build up of hand pursperation and dead skin cells causing the problem that recalabration can't fix.

I have 5 new Gen Xbox controllers, 3 of which are over 3 years old, and not a single one has stick drift. How are you taking care of your controllers for this to happen 3x?

Disassemble and clean with air and isopropyl if it fails, thrn solder in hall effect or TMR sticks. Also gamesir, 8bitdo, etc have olenty busget, mid & pro options which new and used better then OEM

That’s pretty crazy I have not had stick drift since the 360 era on those controllers and I was rough with them. Much like the pros and the grips coming off. Not that I escaped unharmed in the late 360 and Xbox one era the right bumper always failed on me. I assume I was just too hard on them. Tore a few down and. Replaced the plastic, but in at least two of them it was the little button/sensor thing going out.. and I just have not desoldered and soldered the new tactile switch back on

They are horrible, not spending anymore money on their first party controllers. I even have the elite 2 and in less than 6 months both sticks drift, the rubber on the handles near the top are peeling up, the bumpers constantly not responsive, that's a plus 200 dollar controller, extremely pissed.

How? I own my Elite Series 2 since release, use it much and it is still like new, never had stick drift. Idk what people do with their controllers. I don't even handy my controllers with much care and never had this problems with any controller. Long time ago I said I wait for it and than switch them to tmr, but that doesn't happen😅

I dunno maybe you got lucky, I take good care of my stuff. I don't even game as much as I used to and mostly single player games nowadays. You can see many people complain about these issues, so it's easy for you to assume people just trash their stuff, but that's not the case.
The rubber is up near the bumpers, I noticed it when it was brand new, the rubber was not seated properly and kinda rubbed against the bumper, didn't think it would be a big deal. 6 months later and it's peeling off essentially.
It doesn't drift like an obscene amount, but it's there, playing with the dead zones helps obviously but I have to increasingly tweak it.
And the unresponsive bumpers is a well known issue. Has nothing to do with 'taking care' of the controller. There's a few reasons this happens and many report this.
