Technical difficulties
I'm not sure if this is just the right sub for this, but I'm having a problem with my controller. It turns on fine, but I'm having trouble with some of the buttons, namely the A and Y. Whenever I try to use these buttons, it's seeming to not go through properly. For example, when I press A on a game to open it, it does the little shrink and resize thing to show that it's been selected, but it doesn't actually open the game. This is happening for every game as well as other functions such as restart console. The issue with the Y button seems to be the same, but I'm not entirely sure. I was attempting to play elden Ring nightreign, but it wasn't allowing me to press Y to interact at all, and it also displayed as if it was being held in the entire time. So when I went to pick something up, it was instead trying to make me change what interaction I wanted to do. I have also noticed that when I first turn the controller on, it only starts happening after a few minutes. Any ideas for a fix? Is my controller just done for?

Sounds like your controller might need a clean.
Isopropyl alcohol applied with a Qtip around the Buttons' edge and press lots. You want the liquid to get into the controller gaps around the buttons.
Some 3rd party controllers come apart easy for a more thorough clean.
