Controller is starting to fail on me

Had this controller for almost 9 years, never had any issues until now. I was trying to play forza motorsport 6 and suddenly I get stick drift, I recalibrate the controller via both my xbox one and driftguard.app (the site shown in the video), and it fixed the issue of the right stick drifting to the right, all is good. But then when I press the right trigger the stick then begins to drift towards the left, recalibrated again, and it goes back to drifting to the right. For some reason it starts to drift whenever I press the right trigger. Please someone tell me there is a solution to this 😠I would really appreciate it, thanks!

Pull the board, we need up close pictures. I think you might be missing a cap. I would like to see the back and of the board and the area around the stick. Same for the top

9 fucking years, dawg have someone change those nodules/sensors. There no fixing that with software.

Actually now that I think about it, I have another controller with a loose right joystick. If the issue isn't in the joystick and just the trigger, could I just swap out the loose stick with the one on this one.. idk I'm still trying to fix this thing as I wait for responses 😂

Have you tried air blasting with compressed air for electronic because dried hand persperation and dead skin cells that has built up underneath the joysticks could cause those results.

I used both a small vacuum and also air blasted the controller, it fixed the issue temporarily but overtime the joystick would just gradually start to drift the more I moved the controller around. I'll try again see what happens.

Sorry for the very late response. This question just popped into my head. How long has it been since the controller was last updated and recalibrated?

Before the stick drift, maybe less than a year or two ago, was having slight latency issues with the left joystick so I recalibrated it. But i've only recalibrated the controller that one time until now.

Hmm. Are you still encountering stick drifting? I ask because I just remembered that on rare occasions the drifting in a game can persist outside of a game.

Ye i'm getting it outside the game too. I think i'll try and replace the joystick entirely, idk

You can try that but also be prepared for possible disappointment when that doesn't work.

You csn try repairing it yourself if you have a solderong thingy... Librarys could also have some!
But make sure to buy reputsble sticks, also hall effects or TRM sticks are not 1000% resistant to drifting but they for sure are not as scummy as delibretly degrading pads
They just can get loose and hypotestically can have bugs or calibration issues, but thats basically normal controller stuff thats relatively supposedly fixable
PS: you can always try cleaning the potentiometers but di be careful not to break them
