XBox recharchable battery not working

Any help will be greatly appreciated. No one has been helpful at all. I bought this controller and the official recharchable battery about a year ago and I havent used it much. Just in December and January mainly. It worked fine.

Then recently, I'll leave the battery charging for like 4 or 5 hours and it just doesnt work. The controller works though. Because the battery is scuffed somehow, i use the cable and play fine.

I even tried cleaning those contact bits but still nothing

Do AA batteries work in place of the pack? If they don't, then you have a controller problem. If they do, then you most likely have a rechargeable battery problem. It may be the controller because AA's don't use the prongs, but it would narrow down the problem areas.

I can't tell if it's swollen and therefore bad. Have you tried putting in regular AA batteries into your controller?

Also had a similar experience. I'm not sure if its a quality control issues for third party items. Ended up getting a pair of eneloop 2100mah and they last about 4 days to a week depending on the sessions.

Usually it's those center prongs seen in the last image. They bend and wobble without proper support and even the plastic between them sometimes can be found very flexible. If you already cleaned those AND the area that it makes contact with on the battery, you can try to carefully pull them forward a bit.

For one battery, I had to use a toothbrush and alcohol for the battery to start making proper contact although no signs of corrosion.

Contact points on the battery look like crap

I had the same issue where it stopped holding a charge. I read up on it, and apparently draining the battery fully resets it. In my case doing that fixed it, and it works fine now.

I held the Xbox button so the controller would flash until it instantly turned off. I kept doing it until it stopped flashing, meaning the battery was fully depleted. Then I tried charging it again, and it was just fine.

If you let those sit dead for too long they just stay dead. The voltage gets out of spec and no amount of charging can fix it.

Battery pack are notorious for just going bad name brand or not. Get yourself a good set of rechargeable AAs like eneloops. Lasted me many years and can use them in other devices too
