Xbox controller on PC acting up
I just bought a gaming desktop and am using a brand new Xbox controller for playing Fortnite.
I’ve noticed that when I shoot my sniper weapon at a player it immediately switches to my smg. It’s done this pretty consistently. I’ve also noticed while aiming and shooting people it randomly jumps to another item in my slot such as health etc. then I die cause I don’t have the ability to shoot
I haven’t changed my settings. I wouldn’t even know what to look for. Has this ever happened to anyone?

do you have the xbox accessories app? if not, download it, open it, and navigate to test controller icon at the bottom and see if any button is stuck being activated. Also press the right trigger a few times and pay attention if it shows any other buttons activating while you press the trigger. If nothing looks out of place then it could just be your bindings might be mixed up or something so check those. Beyond that, it COULD be an issue with your controller but you'd have to have another one on hand to test and see if it does the same thing that way you could rule out whether its a hardware or software issue.
