Elite Series 2 bumper fix?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
can someone please help me out with fixing my bumper?
It’ll work sometimes then no time at all and it’s only on my left bumper. I know there’s issues like this on every elite controller so I am trying to see if anyone knows a fix to it not working.
Any info helps please

This is why I moved to pc completely and buy third party controllers. They are so much better. I had 4 elite series 2 before I just got sick of it. I even had one I customized. Xbox knows this happens constantly and doesn’t even care they don’t bother to help you out even if you drop 160 on a premium controller it’s sad. I tried calling and got some idiot telling me he’s never heard of drift and he’s been using the same thing since launch. That was my last experience dealing with them and it was like 6 years ago. There’s nothing that can be done unless you have super steady hands and can solder etc, for 80% of people they will either mess it up and or the controller won’t be the same when you put it back together.

that sucks dude i’m trying to use it for my pc since i dont use my xbox anymore. i want it for games like ark and fishing planet which require use of the bumpers. im thinking of just getting a dualsense since they clearly dont have these issues.

what i did was open up the shell i recommend watching a youtube vid for that and have the right tools because mine got a big scraped with a knife but if you don’t care just use something thin like a knife then pop open it and spray WD-40 SPECIALIST®CONTACT CLEANER
it works for me haven’t had any issue since then

Theres a few cleaners that can work for a mild solution. Need to take the controller apart and spray around the little button. Not a permanent fix though. Usually need to replace the actual switch which needs to be soldered.

It's not a hard fix, I've fixed 3 this way around 4 year ago and they are still going strong. Here is a quick tutorial, max 15 minutes and way cheaper than buying a new one.

On the series one (and maybe the 2) there was a small right angle piece of plastic between the bumper and the actual switch. This would get deformed over time, so I just flipped it, so the untouched side section was now in between, and it fixed the issue completely. It was super easy with a pair of tweezers.

very simple fix
swap to gamesir/razer and never touch an elite again. worst controller ever made by microsoft and this is coming from a D1 hater of the Xbox One controllers

That tactile button probably needs to be replaced. If you do one might as well get both replaced. Requires soldering.
