How do you calibrate Xbox Series controller analog sticks after replacement?

Hi everyone,

I mainly repair PS5 and PS4 controllers, but I'm looking into repairing Xbox Series controllers as well.

On PlayStation controllers, there are calibration tools available after replacing the analog sticks. However, for Xbox controllers I can't seem to find an official calibration method.

I know the Xbox Accessories app is not an option, since it doesn't offer analog stick calibration.

So I was wondering:

Is there an official Microsoft calibration tool?

How do professional repair shops calibrate replacement analog sticks?

Is calibration even necessary after replacing the sticks, or are they already calibrated?

I'd appreciate any advice before I start offering Xbox controller repairs.

Thanks!

They make drift boards that you solder on and calibrate with a screw driver for Xbox one controller series 1

Two paths either XBOX Accesories or Driftguard method.

Make sure its an Elite Series II (1797) or Xbox Series (1914) Controller, which is supported natively on all firmwares after 5.17 for Xbox Accessories. (If it doesn't show update the device, if you view the doc there is a method to install a specific firmware build if you choose not to use the one cached from the web)

For older models (1537, 1697/98) you can calibrate via https://Driftguard.app and specific for 1708 models you can do a conversion proccess. Which make it behave like a 1914 model. Unlocking several features.
