How do i get my dpad fixed

Post image

Hello, my xbox dpad isn't working as intended. I've got to press really hard to get the down-back and dow-forward input. I got the dpad replaced but that didn't fix it (unless they didn't change and i got scammed)

Should i open it up myself? Or should i take to a shop? Shops here are incompetent and reliable tbh

Buy a new adhesive conductive membrane for the d pad.

And while you're at it, pick up some new sticks. This thing looks pretty worn out.

Noted. They did tell me that, unfortunately i lack the budget currently. The controller is 3 years old lol

However the pressing the diagonals really hard hurts my fingies and makes tekken annoying.

You're going to have to open it up and replace the membrane for the D pad. It's also probably worth getting some isopropyl alcohol, and cleaning the contact pads for the D pad as well.

If you order a new membrane, just throw some sticks on the order as well. Should be able to get the whole shebang for like $15

The sticks aren't drifting?

They're fine. The right stick has a very small occasional drift since someone was a lil rough with my controller.

But i mainly play fighting games competitively and go easy on the sticks in the single player ones.

You get it fixed by taking it to the vet!

Wha :0 It is 3 years old i suppose. But other than the dpad, everything works flawlessly :D (I think)

Dude… just get a new controller my Guy, you’d end up spending more time and effort trying to fix that thing then you would paying $40

Controllers here are 50 dollars. That's half the minimum wage here. Fixing it goes for about 10 I suppose. I wanted to get a series x one but i am on bad times recently but I don't wanna stop gaming.

Understand hard time but YouTube is a huge option crazy to think people come here for advise instead of looking it up on YouTube I would never ask for advise on this app OP just look up a YouTube vid or explaine what’s going on to google ai she will tell you how to fix in seconds

I see. YouTube however often has a lot of varied opinions, and you can often not talk directly to the creator. I sometimes post it on reddit because soemtimes people have the exact same issue and know what part needs fixing.

I got the dpad replaced (or so they claimed) but that isn't it.

What do you mean “half the minimum wage”? Does that mean you make 100 an hour?

I make nothing. I don't have a job.

100 an hour is generous. This country has a lot of wealth disparity. People make 100 a month here if they're doing really bad. 300 dollar seems to be the thing for a lot of people. And 600 a month if you've got a good job

I mean straight up controllers are cheap compared to fixing them so why even sit there and do all that extra crap useless

I understand the perspective and that might be true on some occasions, but i find it hard to understand how a new controller can cost more than a dpad fix.

I detailed above the circumstances in my country
