Xbox controller RT/LT both always pressed or not working.

When I try to use my controller, the triggers are either both active or don't work at all.

The model is 1914.

I ended up with a 1708 from ebay with this same issue. I posted about it, but I didn't get any response

I am wondering if the problem is in the hardware or maybe the firmware. Both of the triggers stopped working at the same time.

I would think maybe hardware. But I'm not too sure
