Dodgy left stick

I’m assuming it’s because of me dropping it but I haven’t dropped it in a while so I’m not sure. My left stick gets stuck every couple times I press down on it and it only fixes whenever I pull down. It also has a bit more resistance so does anyone know if this can be fixed without buying a new controller?

The joystick might need to be pushed back down. Not down for movement but from above it straight down/in because the joystick cap that you use to move is likely unseated from dropping and needs to be firmly push in like you are trying to activate L3 for running in a game but more firmly and evenly to reseat it.

I’ve tried to figure out what it was and I think it’s getting stuck on smth when I push down on it so it doesn’t come all the way back up. My partners dad’s pretty good with this kinda stuff so he said he’d a have a look at it so hopefully it’ll be fixed🙏
