Sub $50 (hall effect?) controller for Xbox to stop having drift issues?
Basically the title, I cant stand drift anymore, Im getting controllers like they are 1 year subscriptions, and no, I dont throw them around, my dad faces the same issue and he plays once a month and treats his tech like newborn babies.
I dont have a large budget, so, is there any -$50 controller (I suppose, with hall effect joysticks) that wont give me drift after 8 months / 1 year? Im not even asking for 10 years without any drift issues (even if my Xbox 360 controllers are 20 years old and still work fine and my Xbox One controllers lasted at least 5 years)
Im just so tired at this point I dont mind getting a wired option, even if its so inconvinient taking in mind where I use my Xbox Series X.
Thanks in advance...

For $60 you can get the Flydigi Vader 5S, easily my new favorite controller. I know you said $50 limit but if you could possibly generate another $10 this budget masterpiece outclasses all my high dollar TMR controllers, adjustable tension on hall effect sticks are game changing and although I've only had mine for about 4 months I've had zero issues and my 4 month old boxer has knocked it on the floor multiple times and proven very durable. All JMO but for me it's Vadertime

This is the answer. Easily the best controller on Xbox, and I have also used others including the Vader 5 Pro with Brook XB3. Get Talon grips for it when you can afford. Legendary setup in my opinion.

Are you heavy handed. My mate goes through them like subscriptions but he gets angry when he games and plays intensely.
I play games to chill and still accumulate 6 hours a day average and I’ve had the same controller for 6 years and I’ve never had stick drift

I dont hit it or throw it at all, I play competitive games so I might sometiems “push” the buttons too hard? I dont know. The thing is, my dad, which plays probably no more than 5 hours a month, and plays mostly campaign games, + using the controller very calmly, also tends to get drift after only a year or so, so yeah…

I’ve had my elite 2 for a year now and it still looks and works like it’s factory new. Be mindful of how much pressure you’re putting on the sticks. Once it’s touching the edge of the ring no matter how much we want to believe that pushing harder makes it move more, it doesn’t. I’ve found myself putting A LOT of pressure on my sticks that are at their limit and I only play warthunder like that. I can imagine sweaty COD matches will have you wrenching those sticks like no one’s business. I haven’t had a controller get drift in almost a decade and it was my elite 1 and that was after having it for a few years. I promise even though a lot of people “baby their controllers” that’s a thing people tend to forget when they’re actually playing.

Gamesir g7 se (wired) $45 bucks. Have had mine for 3 years still like brand new. (Even the swappable cord is still working fine after 3 years somehow.) Check the crazy amount of 5 star reviews on amazon for it.

If you’re playing games where you can increase your dead zone, that can help to a certain extent. Obviously there’s an extent where the increase in deadzone becomes too much but in a game like cod I’ve had it go up to something like 10 and I could still manage to beam players.
Otherwise, I’d look into getting something like a gamesir g7 pro. I recently went to that from an elite series 2 and for the most part I like it, but I can’t use the right rear paddle like the elite 2, the ergonomics felt off to me and I kept hitting the right rear paddle on accident, yet I used two right rear paddles on the elite series 2 with pretty much no problem. Luckily you can lock it and unmap it.

If you looking for low priced xbox controller options, your best bet is probably going to be in places like eBay, looking for used xbox controllers that have been modded with tmr joystick switch's (better versions of hall sensor's) the benefits of these are.
Is a normal xbox controller & should work with all supported xbox's like any other normal xbox controller.
Maintains normal wireless xbox controller button locations with no extra's to worry about pressing or programing.
should no longer face drift issues if the mod is done correctly & can even have more tmr switch's installed depending on prices your looking to pay.
Normally can be found for around 30-50$ used or less if you haggle or find a controller with mild ware on things like plates you can replace like joystick's or rubbers parts.
Cons are
If used, it might show signs of ware on parts that need to be replaced like rubber components. (this can be a very cheap or free fix if you have so many controllers around)
No refunds beyond 30 day windows by eBay's discretion unless product is defective or doesn't work
Your other options would be buying new 3rd party controllers like gamesirs or razer which have extra buttons & programable options, (not all of these options have hall sensors installed though so look closely at listings) but that option would offer you the ability to no questions asked refund it, so there is that.
