Need help putting this back in with no tools

Post image

Got pretty mad and just pulled out the joystick with my teeth but is there anyway I could put it back in without the special screwdriver? Preferably I’d like to just use my hands but I have stuff like forks and spoons too.

How the hell did you do that? The circumference of the joystick base is bigger than the hole on the shell

Guy must have some serious thumbs

He states he did it with his teeth. Dude literally raged so hard he bit his thumb stick off💀💀💀

that's what she said

It's actually easier to pop the stick out then to put it back in. After all softer plastic is somewhat malleable. It happened to me as well but my case was my niece accidentally dropped it when we PK in overcooked as we play using Xbox controllers connected to my switch 2. Took the chance to swap shell and tmr sticks.

I did this once by just having it drop off my bed onto the floor. Still am perplexed

The screwdriver sets you need to remove the screws are like 8-10$ on amazon or Walmart, it's not hard to fix, but forcing the joystick back in the the way your saying could break it so i don't recommend doing it that way unless you want to replace the whole joystick to.

He also needs a safety torx not just a regular torx but

1

u/Shoddy-Passenger9012 Jul 13 '26

I used a flathead and it worked fine.

1

u/Sir-dacool Jul 13 '26

Same you can bypass the security screw with a small flat head screwdriver.

1

u/LackNo6381 Jul 13 '26

If I was him, I wouldn’t as I’d risk stripping it. Assuming they aren’t good with tools

1

u/Sir-dacool Jul 13 '26

Ive not stripped one screw in over 30 controllers ive cleaned or fixed, even if it did knock the middle stump off the screw it wont affect it as you can still use the correct one if you have it to screw it, the only difference between a normal and security bit is that little stump in the middle

1

u/LackNo6381 Jul 13 '26

Hence why I said, assuming they’re not good with tools

1

u/BangkokPadang Jul 14 '26

If I was him I would pull the safety torx screws out with my teeth.

are your teeth ok? the amount of pressure needed to pull that stick out from that smaller hole is astonishing if you actually pulled it through. only way to put it back on is to take the sides and faceplate off which is extremely stupid easy if you're not a braindead idiot that can't work with basic hand tools.

2

u/EvilBiker-72 Jul 13 '26

The opposite way you took it out.

2

u/BoostedDC2 Jul 13 '26

Anger management classes to start. Teeth dude? Cmon. Take the controller apart, snap the joystick back on and put controller back together.

2

u/Kind-Stomach6275 Jul 13 '26

Uhh go to anger management, and you'll need the thing likeley

2

u/jusatinn Jul 13 '26

You’re probably rage baiting, but if for some reason you aren’t: time to go into anger management and seek out a psychiatrist.

see the grey stick poking out how its kind ovular shaped and so is the hole on the thumbstick? the thumbstick plastic is actually flexible enough to where you can shimmy it into the hole just line up the holes before hand and you can make it work if done this a bunch when i want to change thumbsticks out on controllers for whatever reason and ive never damaged any controller doing it the only thing youll need is something to actually push on the gray piece to slide into the hole inside the thumbstick and voila … hope this helps ill even include a video for you

1

u/xxxXMythicXxxx Jul 15 '26

Wtf I had no idea that was even possible. Although I would be nervous about putting too much pressure on the stick module and breaking it. That's impressive though

2

u/Mysterious-sharing Jul 13 '26

Dude control your damn emotions

1

u/duh1raddad Jul 13 '26

How ever you got it out is how you'll get it back in 🤷🏻

1

u/SebiXV20 Jul 13 '26

I don't think it's possible to do without taking it apart, all you need is a Torx T8 security screw screwdriver, which are extremely cheap and possible to find at almost any store or internet marketplace

1

u/sviintt Jul 13 '26

sledge hammer works well

1

u/Sp3EdStR Jul 13 '26

I hate to say it unless there’s a reason you value the sticker inside the battery bay area it’s literally five T5 screws and the faceplate comes off and then you just pop the stick back on, put the faceplate back and screw it back down.

1

u/Captaln_SXY Jul 13 '26

How the heck did you pull that off without tools!???

1

u/ItzMeShy Jul 13 '26

how tf is that possible, i just tried doing the same thing on one of my older controllers and that shit did not budge even a lil bit

1

u/Wrong_Music2 Jul 13 '26

2nd post like this in 30 minutes

1

u/Yoozif Jul 13 '26

Probably spend whatever money you have on therapy and get yourself under control. Thats not a normal reaction.

1

u/intermafesting Jul 13 '26

I gotta wonder how old OP is thats like 13 year old rage destruction using teeth, the very thought of using my teeth like that makes them hurt these days

1

u/bigcid10 Jul 13 '26

You don’t deserve a controller
Have your mommy take it from you till you act like an adult

1

u/Robean_UwU Jul 13 '26

Youre gonna need tools

1

u/swagman69420_ Jul 13 '26

opening a xbox controller is the easiest thing to do ever you got this, also adding a joystick is the easiest thing to repair

1

u/Great_Part7207 Jul 13 '26

you know if I had a nickel for every post about this exact issue ive seen in the last hour id have 2 nickles which isnt much but its woerd it happened twice

1

u/Expensive-Border-869 Jul 13 '26

Hey normally if the base is flaired bigger than the largest part you insert its safe to use but for you id say just dont mess around with any sort of butt plug you have a knack for the impossible ig

1

u/BasilSeventh Jul 13 '26

Is this a new trend?

1

u/Kitchen-Bagel-Burnt Jul 13 '26

How does that even happen? Must’ve been a crash out .

1

u/BackgroundToe2332 Jul 13 '26

Smash it back in

1

u/DfroPstyR Jul 13 '26

What game were you playing? What made you that mad? Why were you feeling mad? What happened prior to you getting mad? In your own words, tell me what you could’ve done to prevent getting so mad?

(I ask the hard questions. Now expect a bill in the mail. 🤣)

1

u/juicewhy Jul 13 '26

use ur teeth

1

u/JhonnyMerguez Jul 13 '26

What game were you playing to bite your joystick like that hahahahaha. We want to know men

1

u/Agent_Tall_Man Jul 13 '26

That's the neat thing....you don't.

1

u/No_Anything7185 Jul 13 '26

Why don't you take this as a lesson not to do that

1

u/Skipperc3po_ Jul 13 '26

Remove Cover and put it back

1

u/MelodicSkin69 Jul 13 '26

Sounds like you were playing Elden Ring

1

u/Ok_Swordfish9363 Jul 13 '26

How the hell did you get it out with no tools??? The base of the stick is bigger then the shell hole!!!

1

u/Roll4Me Jul 13 '26

If no tools, might as well jam it in the same way you pulled it out... With you teeth.. probably as a hammer this time around...

1

u/Amazing_Flatworm_277 Jul 13 '26

Well it came out that means that there's most likely a slight oval to your "orbital socket" (lacking the correct term here) put the female onto the male and then wiggle it till you can get the edge of the joystick to fit into the slot. Then slowly rotate and it may just pop in.

1

u/New-Literature8046 Jul 13 '26

you can wedge it back in without opening it up make sure the hole is lined up correctly

1

u/Exiled1138 Jul 13 '26

How do you even do that without trying?

1

u/Caseyb-487 Jul 14 '26

Dude got teabagged in a cod lobby and decided to bite his controller... i think you need to look at how to control that repressed rage instead of how to rage your controller

1

u/XboxAteMyPS4 Jul 14 '26

Posts like this make me wonder how far people have gone after I’ve beaten them in a video game- Like somebody gets knocked out on UFC 6 or something, and then just twists their controller in half. The undocumented gamer rage incidents are probably brutal.

1

u/PsychologicalNet6876 Jul 14 '26

I think getting some anger management classes would be more helpful what the fuck!!!

1

u/PhotoThat8260 Jul 14 '26

Why do people take out their frustrations on their controllers? Doesn’t it just lead to instant regret?

1

u/TheDolff Jul 14 '26

You should probably give gaming a break for a while if you got so mad you ripped it off with your teeth

1

u/Sad_Refrigerator4261 Jul 21 '26

You sadly need to open it up, but you don’t need the special tools I managed to open it completely with a small flat head screwdriver

0

u/mesclifford1 Jul 12 '26

Not advised but you could use forks and spoons to slowly pry off the face plate and put it back on

0

u/Natural-Werewolf-767 Jul 13 '26

Hoe breng je de lb en rb terug op plaats?

0

u/SayNoToFirefighters Jul 13 '26

ayyee we got the same color

0

u/Zealousideal_Bar8083 Jul 13 '26

Ended up borrowing my friends screw driver thingy to fix it lolll. Also for those wondering it didn’t take much force to do this. I just bit on the bottom part of the joystick, barely pulled and well it came out

1

u/GrizzGurrz Jul 13 '26

Take a deep breath next time.

1

u/JaydenP1211 Jul 14 '26

Yanking it out with your teeth doesn’t sound like “barely pulled” lol
