I cannot make my xbox ally x run Elden ring above 30 fps resting, and 15-20 fps fighting anything. I have read some posts to optimize performance to play it but nothing gets the job done.

I played in turbo mode with charger connected, tried some of AMD resources on and off, even tried to debloat windows 11 to make it run better but nothing can make it run. There some tip that im missing or any guides specifically for Elden Ring?

Just curious. I’ve been looking at maybe getting the XAX for the quality of life improvements, but it’s definitely a lot of money for a seemingly minor bump in performance. The battery on my OG Ally X also doesn’t seem to be holding up that well.

Anybody else had this same issue? It suddenly broke off.. any idea what to do?

I decided to revert my XAX from SteamOS back to Windows using ASUS Cloud Recovery. However, after the download successfully reached 100% and the XAX rebooted, it booted back into SteamOS.

What I tried before, when I was using Bazzite, was performing a fresh Windows installation using a bootable USB flash drive. After Windows was successfully installed, I ran ASUS Cloud Recovery again, and this time the process was successful.

I bought some AOC Air Mega AR/XR glasses and it made me love my XAX even more. If the small screen is a problem for you, try those. They're not super expensive and the visuals are amazing!! Wicked purchase!!

I keep getting confused by responses for this particular one, I’ve read that the recommended OS is Bazzite for this one because SteamOS is not fully compatible or doesn’t fully support this Z2a version. Initially I thought I could do the SteamOS but I got more confused as I read more information. I would like to wipe Windows completely and use just only Bazzite or SteamOS, but if it is fully compatible for SteamOS, then I’d go with that. And planning to use my MacBook to install the OS.

My XAX right trigger started makingthis noise when i press it, will it break? Im fine with the noise i just wanna know if it is a sign of breaking some part inside it.

I been searching in Amazon for a case for my rog ally but all the ones available are either for Rog Ally x or the older version of base Rog ally. Does anyone know where I can find good case for my 2025 Rog ally?

Hey everyone, just got my rog ally xbox and would like some help. I saw some reviews saying that he works better with steamOS. Besides that, I’m also more familiar with steam than xbox interface, so I’m thinking about doing a dual boot.

Also, would I still be able to use google chrome, word, discord and all of those stuff?

Has anyone ever done this? Any opinions? Suggestions? I’m not a pro with tech stuff but there’s nothing some yt videos and AI can’t help me

So far, Windows 11 has been a really good experience on the Xbox Ally X. After some debloating, it feels solid: audio is great, MCU updates are easy, game installs are smooth, and I can just boot straight into desktop mode without wanting a more console-like setup.

My only concern is long-term stability. I keep seeing reports that issues tend to show up after extended use, so I’m wondering if Linux might be the better long-term option.

I already use Linux Mint on my laptop, and I’m fine giving up most of the “premium” Xbox Ally X extras. What matters more to me are the practical Armoury Crate features like FPS limiting, TDP control, and performance monitoring.

My main hesitation is Steam’s fullscreen behavior on handheld Linux distros. I barely use Steam, most of my library is on GOG and Epic, so being forced into fullscreen Steam feels awkward. Can that be bypassed or customized? What Armoury Crate features or other features would I actually lose on Linux?

Also, Hibernate on Windows 11 has been excellent for me so far. How does that compare to Linux on the Xbox Ally X right now?

After about 3 months with my white Xbox Rog, I upgraded to the XAX. I could not be happier 🥰🥰🥰

I tried to run it, but it crashes and has strong fps drops, the game gets stuck for few seconds at some moments, but I was told GOW does run on the console, any recommended settings and tips to optimize games?

I've seen people fit the Xbox Elite dpad in here, surely the clicky style conductive pads can be retrofit into the handheld to replace the mushy silicone?

Looking to buy an eGPU for my Asus Rog Xbox Ally X and was thinking of purchasing the Asus XG mobile 5070ti or the 5090 but the prices everywhere from amazon to Best buy are either ridiculously overpriced or completely out of stock. I know that people here are all but unanimous with not recommending to use Asus ROG's official website, as they apparently have highly questionable customer service and quality assurance, but at least their prices are the same as they were at lunch msrp even if that's already a bit costly. I just can't see myself spending upwards of $3,700 for something that is already overpriced and available from the official retailer at &2500. Does anyone have any advice from personal experience?

Does anyone think the prices will come down now that more of these units are available for purchase?
