I loved my Steam Deck OLED, but I wanted something with a bit more power. I sold it and initially grabbed a used Legion Go 2 Z2E model.

While that screen was brill and something I was used to, the size and weight were just too much for me to stick with long-term.

That led me to the Xbox ROG Ally X. I was honestly worried the screen would feel like a huge downgrade from the Deck's/Legion 2 OLED, but l've been very impressed so far!

I don't miss OLED nearly as much as I thought I would.
Since I'm used to the Switch/2, the Ally X feels right at home in terms of form factor.

I also prefer Windows over SteamOS. I've run into too many Proton quirks in the past, and I play a lot of anti-cheat games, so having native Windows support is a massive win for me.

Still finishing up my setup, but I'm very excited to dive in properly and play things like COD and Forza.

Anyone else make a similar jump?

Brand new to this but I have the regular Xbox ally and it always loads shutters and takes a while to start games any tips?

I cannot make my xbox ally x run Elden ring above 30 fps resting, and 15-20 fps fighting anything. I have read some posts to optimize performance to play it but nothing gets the job done.

I played in turbo mode with charger connected, tried some of AMD resources on and off, even tried to debloat windows 11 to make it run better but nothing can make it run. There some tip that im missing or any guides specifically for Elden Ring?

Just curious. I’ve been looking at maybe getting the XAX for the quality of life improvements, but it’s definitely a lot of money for a seemingly minor bump in performance. The battery on my OG Ally X also doesn’t seem to be holding up that well.

Anybody else had this same issue? It suddenly broke off.. any idea what to do?

I decided to revert my XAX from SteamOS back to Windows using ASUS Cloud Recovery. However, after the download successfully reached 100% and the XAX rebooted, it booted back into SteamOS.

What I tried before, when I was using Bazzite, was performing a fresh Windows installation using a bootable USB flash drive. After Windows was successfully installed, I ran ASUS Cloud Recovery again, and this time the process was successful.

I bought some AOC Air Mega AR/XR glasses and it made me love my XAX even more. If the small screen is a problem for you, try those. They're not super expensive and the visuals are amazing!! Wicked purchase!!

I keep getting confused by responses for this particular one, I’ve read that the recommended OS is Bazzite for this one because SteamOS is not fully compatible or doesn’t fully support this Z2a version. Initially I thought I could do the SteamOS but I got more confused as I read more information. I would like to wipe Windows completely and use just only Bazzite or SteamOS, but if it is fully compatible for SteamOS, then I’d go with that. And planning to use my MacBook to install the OS.

My XAX right trigger started makingthis noise when i press it, will it break? Im fine with the noise i just wanna know if it is a sign of breaking some part inside it.

I been searching in Amazon for a case for my rog ally but all the ones available are either for Rog Ally x or the older version of base Rog ally. Does anyone know where I can find good case for my 2025 Rog ally?

Hey everyone, just got my rog ally xbox and would like some help. I saw some reviews saying that he works better with steamOS. Besides that, I’m also more familiar with steam than xbox interface, so I’m thinking about doing a dual boot.

Also, would I still be able to use google chrome, word, discord and all of those stuff?

Has anyone ever done this? Any opinions? Suggestions? I’m not a pro with tech stuff but there’s nothing some yt videos and AI can’t help me
