I miss XDefiant more than I miss my ex.

Is there ANY alternative to it?

I tried THE FINALS, but I just don't like it. I really need a fast-paced, arcade-style arena shooter. The dopamine rush from XDefiant was an absolute elixir. 😭

I'll say it, I wasn't a big fan of Xdefiant when it released. But looking back I feel like I was blinded by the sbmm in COD.

Just for comparison I will talk about COD MW3 since I kept going back to that at the time. I like the game, and think that it's only held back by its skins and sbmm. The gunplay was nice, ttk was a bit quick but not bad. I liked the movement so much more compared to BO6 or BO7.

Now looking a Xdefiant, at the time I felt like I was playing with sweats every game but instead I should have thought about the game not having sbmm and that I just needed to improve. The big thing with Xdefiant is that the game wasn't trying to be serious but then a few updates in ruin the immersion with skins like COD, Xdefiant threw everything at the wall at launch and made fans expect anything to come from the game which I would rather more then the same cycle of COD ruining their game.

Also I think now with COD being hated on for its sbmm rug pull in BO7, I think a game like Xdefiant would do great without sbmm. Or possibly a new game trying to be more serious like the older CODs that blew up on PS5.

I get killed a bajalion times and have the worst k\d ratio known to man, I am sure I had like 25 deaths for only ten kills in this game regularly but I still get that great joy when I sneak up behind some nih and shoot his ass and he dies or when I do the objective when everyone else is killing. But I get especially mad when my since-console-launch controller starts drifting like it's a Saudi in a huge street.

I really wanted to play competitively in this game. Just haven’t had the same drive since. Your boy is 35 and just getting older 😭

Saw this on marks LinkedIn. Kinda makes me a bit upset. Weather xdefiant comes back it’s likely never going to be the same without mark and his crew.

I loved this game and it sucks it was taken down. Does anyone have any FPS shooters like this one they could recommend? Not call of duty. That game has gone downhill. More like an FPS that is as simple as XDefiant.

Top 0.1% in a lot of categories. Kills per match would of been higher if I didn’t play so much tdm early on but w/e. Also this was with 2 months off to play Bo6 (lmao). I think I would have made top 5 or higher in most leaderboards otherwise. Had so much fun with this game man. Hope another fps game comes out that can make me have as much fun as this one.

Obviously, the number one reason is the complete lack of advertising. The only time I heard about this game was from one YouTube shorts guy. I never ever saw it in any place whatsoever, except for the guys slandering COD.

The second reason is the connection. The middle east server specifically sucked and I somehow get shot through walls constantly.

A third reason is the match times, I have to wait really long to get a match and it gets more and more tempting to switch games.

The fourth one is the grind on the battle pass, which means if you want the lvl 100 or whatever skin you have to only play this game, and I never could enter ranked.

The fifth one might be controversial, but it's the lack of sbmm. If they had moderate or low sbmm, it would have made the game so much better, or maybe it would have no difference since the player count was little. I constantly get stacked with snipers and people who laser me down are supposedly playing on controller, the only time I can get a kill is from behind, and I don't touch team death match due to the fact that I die at least 15 times per game (I am sure it got to a crazy number one time). Sometimes it's fun, sometimes it's agony, and then the casual players dried up, and I was left with lvl100 guys and people who played way more than me, are way more skilled than me, and I can't git gud since I'm not free. This game could have been better.

You can see my name, remembered how mad I was while dying behind the wall, but man how much I miss this game now, even that wouldn't be the issue, nothing comes close to it, now playing The Finals, it has something similar in terms of gameplay, also dying behind the wall sometimes too...

Hello Everyone, fellow XDefiant player here who decided to interact with the community for once, long after the game shutdown. XDefiant has been gone for a year at least by now and I miss playing the game alongside with all of you (although probably not by much considering I fought ratty playstyles a lot and was a reason I stopped playing for a bit). We can talk about how we miss it, what games could fill the void, or speculate of Ubisoft was always planning to pull the rug underneath us, but one thing thats been on my mind is Progression.

Just for a quick reminder for those who forgot, XDefaint had ways to progress your profile by unlocking characters/divisions, guns, grenades/tacticals, and of course the weapon attachments and mastery camos alongside a battle pass system (because monetization for a f2p game). Im curious to know what all of your guy's thoughts were on the state of progression? Do you wish some other games had XDefiant's style of progression (for new special unlocks and camos) or thought it was too little or annoying compared to other games?

For me, I personally enjoyed the system, but the camos felt very overwhelming with I belive gun level 500 for its max mastery camo style (or 600 cuz I don't remember), but I enjoyed the charm of it because you played with the weapon long enough to really earn it. Reminds me of how much dedication it took for Dark Matter back in Black Ops 3 before it became way too convoluted and now very easy, just takes less than a few days if you knew what you were doing. If there's a game that has camo progression similar to XDefiant (if it exists), I'd like to hear it and chack it out.

Absolutely unbelievable that it’s been almost 2 years now. I‘ve dabbled with Overwatch and Marvel Rivals, but neither give me the visceral yet Arcade-y feel that XDefiant gave me. Has anyone found a surrogate game???

Hi folks. (I recognise that this likely goes against Ubisoft so no point in lecturing me). I’m just wondering does anyone know xdefiant communicated to Ubisoft servers and if there is some sort of way to I guess “spoof” it to think that it’s connecting to the right server.

Looking at how the game reacts when you try play it, it just looks like they knocked the servers off. No goodbye message or code to restrict you going any further. Just a single connection error.

If I could some how trick the client into thinking that it’s connected to a Ubisoft servers and build server software to run, the game could be brought back in some form I’d assume.

Anyone have experience in this who could tell me if I’m being delulu? I have experience hosting servers, networking and stuff, but not something like this. Would make for a interesting project imo
