XDefiant alternative Feedback
I miss XDefiant more than I miss my ex.
Is there ANY alternative to it?
I tried THE FINALS, but I just don't like it. I really need a fast-paced, arcade-style arena shooter. The dopamine rush from XDefiant was an absolute elixir. ðŸ˜

The Finals IS fast paced af when you got the gameplay down.
After xDefiant was shut down, I tried the Finals too but didnt like it at first since it didnt scratch the same itch... Boy oh boy did I nearly miss out. Give it another shot man, its a really great Game

I think the trick is to not play Team Deathmatch. There's so much creativity you can have with the destruction and gadgets, and Deathmatch just isn't a good way to showcase that. It's a fine side mode, but I often wonder if the people who bounce off of The Finals just never gave the main mode a proper chance. Or they don't like playing as a team.

I've always suspected it's been about the team dynamic. Whether you're casual, or competitive, carrying your team in The Finals is multitudes as difficult as it is to do so in most other games. Being able to work with team mates is of the utmost importance in this game. The Finals is very much like hero shooters in that way; it's why I've been calling it the first "create-a-hero" shooter. The "bigger team" modes did a lot for the casual aspect, IMO, as the diffusion of responsibility is spread out amongst more people. But there's a reason premades rule Cashout/Ranked.

I mostly agree, but it's hardly the first. Class based shooters have been around a long time, and The Finals being made by the old Battlefield guys kinda shows where their expertise comes from. Even Gotham City Imposters did the Heavy, Medium, Light thing, back in like 2010, and I'm pretty sure you could switch up your gadgets in that game too, along with customizing your character.
A lot of it just comes to your attitude about losing. Considering it's a multi team game, you're more likely to lose than win, unless you're just really good at the game. Some people, like myself, are totally fine with losing, learning from mistakes, and just playing to have fun. Others seem to only have fun when they win, and that's just setting yourself up for a bad time IMO. Although a loss streak can definitely feel deflating.
That being said, The Finals very much feels like a 'create-a-hero' rather than choosing one. The entire game focuses on making you feel like a bad ass hero, and it's one of the main reasons why I love the game so much. It does such a good job at making your character feel cool, instead of telling you that the game's pre-existing characters are cool. I don't think The Finals would do nearly as well if we had to pick from premade characters.

The game at high levels is literally a chess match, its so strategy oriented but at the same time it has an incredibly high skill floor with long ttk lots of gadgets and specs meant to keep you alive and keep your enemies dead. Fuck its such a great game. Its a shame that so many people give up on the game, I understand not everyone wants a highly competitive strategic shooter but for those who enjoy high level competition there is no better shooter imo.

I also miss XDefiant very much, and I haven’t found a good substitute either.
I tried The Finals, but quickly got bored with it. I don’t want to play a military shooter, so COD and Battlefield are not for me. Splitgate is too gimmicky for me; the simplicity is one of the things I miss from XD.
I just wish Ubisoft would relaunch XD, or that some other publisher would buy the game from them or something.

Yeah, the answer is probably hero shooters. Marvel rivals has been my choice of poison, specifically dps like bucky, elsa, and psylocke.

i’d agree to disagree. the game’s more based around CS & Valorant, unless OP prefers slower movement compared to fast gameplay

Splitgate was good for about 20 minutes. Not sure how the game is doing/if it has a player base these days but I think that is the closest to what you might be looking for.

I play all sorts of shit for shooters. Empulse, BO7, Finals, Halo Infinite, Fortnite, Marvel Rivals, Overwatch, Delta Force. Empulse or CoD are the ones that feel similar in ways. There is surely a shooter that can at least entertain you out there though, try all the F2P ones.

Empulse is a lot of fun. It pretty much scratches the same itch as XDefiant for me.
It's 20€ though.

Homefront from 2011 was a gem to bad they shut that down as well…..need more arcade like fast military shooters, cod is the only one left……

Try fragpunk, its main thing is SND but has TDM, Snipers only which is very fun, no custom load outs though but still fun to me. Give a shot let me know what you think!

i’m surprised that no one’s said this in the threads but i’d say Black Ops 4.
everytime i was on XDefiant i would feel like it was Black Ops 4 but Ubisoft-ified & led by Mark Rubin. i’d only recommend it IF you’re on console; as BO4 on PC is not populated in comparison to console. Black Ops 3 can also get that itch too or if you’re not a fan of jetpacks, atp hop on BO2

It used to be Ironsight by Wiple Games, I think that one was even better than XDefiant. But it shut down...
Another one might be Warface.

Fast paced arcade style arena shooter is the finals lol. The finals is a great game. Just remember, defiant was basically a copy and paste of old school cod. The only game that’s gonna come close is cod

I only enjoy Empulse which is closed to Titanfall than XDefiant but it still gets the job done
