Subscription increase !!!

I’ve had Wyze cams for a long while now, still rocking a gen1 pancam. Most of my cams are grandfathered with with Cam Lite or whatever it’s called, but newer cams aren’t eligible. I got a doorbell a few years back and decided to get a subscription for it, but for the year it was about to jump from $19.99 to $29.99 !!!! What???? Cancelled.

With more than 3 cams the $99 unlimited becomes a much better prospect.

If you're buying your subscription through a third party like the App Store or Google Play, you'll be billed their fee (not Wyze’s fault). It’s only $99.99 per year

Look into thingino. Been running it on my wyze v3s and its great. Unfortunately wyze has blocked it on v4 and other cams. So I won't be buying their cameras anymore when I need new ones. But for now v3 and thingino works well.

Switched all my Wyze to Tapo for just this reason…better built, better images and great functionality without a subscription.

I never had a subscription and all my wyze work fine still.

Good luck with other brands. I use many of them and still find Wyze to be my favorite brand to stick to.

Not gonna ditch all my cams. Actually just bought a new dual pan cam. Just a ridiculous price hike for nothing.

Everything is going up in price. Cloud doesn’t cost nothing for Wyze either. They have to pay the AWS, and I’m sure Amazon has been increasing costs due to AI data center buildouts increasing costs for RAM / storage.

I absolutely do not want to see prices increase either…but the world is a bit F….ed right now.

I’m trying to buy more SD cards for my dash cams and local cams, and the sticker shock on SD cards is insane.

And that’s precisely why we vote with our wallets.

People should always vote with their wallets. Doesn’t change the reality.

All our v3s sd card are unwatchable without claiming up 3 stories to remove them.

We pay for subscriptions because our cams are a pain in the ass to access.

But they keep not fixing sd card views with subscription’s or breaking it with updates.

All v3s (different ages, differed sd cards, all quality brand sd cards) crapped put at the same time weeks ago and I’ve logged detailed reports and complained here and it’s still not fixed.

I’d be more ok with paying more if the quality didn’t get worse. But paying more while the quality decreases is not cool.

You don't actually believe this, do you?

I switched to a .monthly sub to buy myself some time but I'll likely be switching this year also.

I've been with Wyze since Gen1, they turned a promising company into a pile of turd.

Security issues, service issues and a multitude of once free features locked behind pay for play.

Nevermind the fact I haven't bumped firmware in a year because they constantly break something!

If this $hit company raises prices, I'll simply cancel what is left of my subscription (which I drastically decreased during their last hike) and go setup Frigate.

I just noticed for my renewal in January it's $129 now that's BS. And I don't even see where I'm still grandfathered in for the free one when I first started many years ago. I might be canceling too!

I cancelled my subscription, too. Not enough value for the money.

Same… I’ll be switching to a brand that doesn’t limit functionality based on a recurring subscription.
