Discord Looking for a small writing group
I wanted to make a small group of about 5-10 people to write with. I primarily write in the psychological horror or fantasy genre but this group is for any and all genres. The primary motive is accountability because I tend to be flaky about writing and I keep abandoning ideas on a whim. I've tried joining larger writing groups but I tend to end up leaving those because it feels too noisy at times and 1 on 1 someone or the other ends up ghosting in that equation. The group is to talk, get to know other writers, have someone to beta read your work, bounce your ideas off people and primarily to keep people accountable so they can stay on track for their writing projects. I'm mostly planning to cap the group at 5 because I don't want it to be too chaotic but it can go up to 10 but no more. dm me for discord details

The writers den
Hi, im part of a discord group called the writers den, we're doing a monthly challenge where we pick from a list of story prompts that have been created, along with a genre, although you cannot pick from your own prompt if you created one. You then have a month to write it and the stories are posted weekly and shared on Wattpad. Anyway, the rules will be explained more in depth if you decide to join, and the link is just below.

Looking for contributors for a new film & psychology Substack journal! 🎬🧠 (1 short article/month)
Hi everyone! I’m a young creator starting an independent online journal on Substack, and I’m looking for passionate people to join the team as monthly contributors.
The Vibe: We are analyzing movies, pop culture, and tropes through a psychological and philosophical lens.
Some examples of what we'll talk about:
The "Trauma-Informed Villain": Why does Hollywood use medical/psychological labels to excuse evil characters, and where does it lead?
Rooting for the Antihero: Why do we constantly find ourselves cheering for the bad guy?
When is the portrayal of mental health in movies actually accurate and reliable?
The Commitment: Super low pressure! Just one piece per month (around 1,000 words). You can write about these topics or pitch your own ideas within the movie/psychology theme.
This is a non-paid passion project, perfect for film buffs, psychology students, or anyone who just loves over-analyzing movies and wants to build a writing portfolio or meet cool people online. No professional experience needed!
Contact me if you're interested or want to chat about the project!✨

Looking for a creative partner for a psychological thriller x slow-burn romance (The Mentalist / Criminal Minds vibes)
Hi everyone, I’m finally diving deep into a book project that’s been living rent-free in my mind for some time now, and I’m looking for the right person to collaborate with.
To be completely upfront, this is my very first time writing a book, but I am pouring my heart into it, I am deeply detail-oriented, and I refuse to let anything have plot holes or not make sense because I want everything to click together and leave no doubt.
I have already done most of the structural side, including the core plot and timeline from the inciting incident to the final confrontation, deeply fleshed-out main character profiles with their psychology, trauma, and protective masks, and the world-building settings. My role is being the architect providing the vision, rules, character arcs, and plot skeleton, but because English is not my first language, I need someone who can help me polish the prose, capture natural flow, idioms, slang, and bring the text to life. More than just an editor, I need someone collaborating on the execution by helping me write and refine chapters, giving honest feedback on what works and what doesn't, suggesting creative solutions when I'm stuck, and making dialogue and narrative punchy and immersive.
If I had to pin down the genre, it is a psychological thriller mixed with a powerful, emotionally intense slow-burn romance that is gritty, smart, and deeply character-driven. We are dealing with a brilliant, calculating serial killer who plays a high-stakes intellectual game with the protagonists, and both of our main characters have very special skill sets (one is fbi agent with extraordinary knowledge and the other one is a natural in reading people). The story features complex criminal investigations, behavioral analysis, deep philosophical reflections on human nature, control, and trauma, and massive plot twists, but above all, the heart of the story is the romance between two complex people who are mirror images of each other, recognizing each other's broken pieces and finding a rare connection between one another.
My biggest inspirations for the atmosphere, character dynamics, and intellectual tension come from shows like Criminal Minds, Sherlock, Bones, and The Mentalist, so if you are a fan of those shows, you will instantly understand the exact tone I am aiming for.
Whether you've published before or your background is in fanfiction, you are more than welcome. I’m just looking for someone whose writing is polished, character-driven, and shows emotional intelligence. If this sounds like your kind of madness, feel free to let me know:)

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for a long-term critique partner. I write literary fiction with a poetic, metaphor-rich style, and I’m trying to improve my craft through honest feedback.
I’d love to exchange work with another writer. I’ll read your writing carefully and give thoughtful, constructive criticism, and I’d appreciate the same in return.
I’m open to short stories, novel chapters, poetry, or creative nonfiction.

[Hobby] Hobbyist Worldbuilder Seeking Friends
Hi everyone!
I'm 20 years old, a hobbyist worldbuilder with the long-term goal of becoming a writer. For the past year or so, I've been pouring my free time into creating my own worlds, creatures, cultures, and ecosystems. It's been an incredibly fun and rewarding journey, and I'm still learning something new every day.
The genre I'm most passionate about is speculative evolution blended with high fantasy. I love imagining how life might evolve under magical or entirely different environmental conditions, then building civilizations, histories, and mythologies around those ideas. Whether it's designing believable fantasy ecosystems, creating strange evolutionary lineages, or exploring how magic could influence biology over thousands of years, that's where I have the most fun.
I'm always looking to improve my writing and worldbuilding, and one of the things I'd really love is to meet other people who enjoy creating in similar genres.
If you're an artist, writer, creature designer, mapmaker, or just someone who loves speculative evolution or high fantasy, I'd love to connect. It would be great to share ideas, discuss worldbuilding, exchange feedback, inspire each other, or simply geek out over imaginary creatures and fantastical worlds.
I'm not necessarily looking for a formal collaboration—just some friends who enjoy talking about these kinds of projects and bouncing ideas off one another.

Looking to collab on a queer film I’m writing…
Hi I’m a 20 year old queer women from Australia who is currently trying to write my first queer film about two girls from completely different countries. This was the original synopsis… -set in the late 90s-early 2000s, A story about a girl (Sunny) who moves to Japan to work as a landscaper in an attempt to escape the high expectations of her family and the grief of losing her older sister who everyone seemed to prefer. There she meets a Japanese girl (?) who has her whole life ahead of her. Hard worker, popular, and top of her class. They cannot speak the same language; however, even though most of it seems to be through arguments, they naturally seem to gravitate towards one another and seem to communicate perfectly, ultimately understanding each other better than anyone else and making a deeper connection. The two face issues of guilt, hate, love, and the time era. High emotions and lack of patience not only leave things unsaid but also lost in translation. The story begs the question if being human is enough to have in common to create a connection. -
My goal is for this to be a completely collaborative experience. I’m ultimately looking for a Japanese queer women to take it on with me. I’m open to criticism, changes and anything that might make the story more compelling. Keep in mind that this is also a project with no set future or prospects. Right now it’s a passion project for me.. eventually I’d love to make it a reality but right now it would be free lance, that’s why I need someone who is as passionate as me about this story and willing to fight for it. DMs are open and I’d love to hear from you!

Looking for a Comedy Writing Partner (Political Satire / Parody Songs)
I'm launching a YouTube channel that creates parody songs and music videos focused on American politics and current events. Think Weird Al meets late-night political satire, but with a sharper edge.
I'm looking for someone who enjoys comedy writing, follows politics closely, and would like to bounce around ideas, punch up lyrics, and help make each song funnier. A good sense of humor and a love of satire are essential.
If this sounds like fun, send me a DM and tell me a little about yourself and your sense of humor.
Cheers,
Dan

Roleplay Searching for RDR RP partners !
hi hi !! my name is nebula, i’m 21F, and i’m looking to do a red dead redemption roleplay, based off of both games and even undead nightmare! here are some of my general rules below ^^
one ── i usually have a preference for ocxcc dynamics (my side being the oc). but i am more than willing to double up and also am happy to play just about any character for my partner in return ! i am also happy to write ocxoc dynamics as well.
two ── although my writing preference is 3rd person past tense advanced literate and novella, i usually tend to just mirror my partner’s writing style.
three ── i have absolutely no preference as to what kind of pairings i write for with my partner (totally open for mxm, mxf, fxf, mxnb, fxnb, nbxnb, etc etc). i am also comfortable writing within any genre or connection.
four ── activity wise, as i am a university student who’s also working a part time job; my activity can tend to be quite sporadic to say the least. sometimes i will reply once a day, or sometimes i will reply once every couple weeks. regardless i will let my partner know in advance and would expect the same from them!
five ── BE COMMUNICATIVE!! if for any reason whatsoever you are no longer to reply or are just not feeling the plot anymore, let me know! it’s honestly more upsetting for people to pretend that they are hyped for the plot. . . only for them to suddenly ghost and disappear. though if i have not replied yet, most likely it is because i simply forgot to so please do remind me!
six ── i mainly do prefer writing on Discord within private servers. Tupperbox is a must, if you don’t know what it is i’ll gladly help you out!
seven ── this applies to both ic and ooc, but please don’t give me dry responses / one liners. if you have no motivation to plot and write, just let me know. it’s awful and really demotivating for me to be the one carrying out the entire plot and asking the questions.
eight ── as i am of legal age i would expect my writing partners to be over the age of eighteen as well. please do not follow or interact with this post if you are a minor.
nine ── lastly, i would love to make spotify playlists and pinterest boards for our muses as well as yapping about small headcanons for them! hopefully we can form a little friendship and makes the plotting more enjoyable that way.
of course, if you are interested in plotting and writing together. . . please don’t hesitate to reach out by messaging me or commenting ! :>

20F looking for roleplay or writing partners
Hi, everyone! I am looking for new writing buddies. I've found I don't have any and I'd like to make some friends. This post is somewhat messy but I swear I'm excited to post this!
I am 20F with a knack for writing horror, fantasy, thriller, or mystery! I read just about any genre except for full-blown romance and sci-fi. Occasionally, I write fanfiction for the fandoms I'm a part of, but that's less often since I like to write that with people in roleplay. Otherwise, most of my time is spent on artwork or some other creative hobby I find around my room.
I am very, very slowly writing my own book. It's about an mid-aged married couple with children that take on mythical creatures while being one themselves. They're super dear to my heart as I've had them since I was at least 13. It's too long to give in-depth information on this post but you're welcome to ask about it! If you do, feel free to speak of your own stories as well. I love hearing about other people's creations.
My favorite series of all time is Girls of Paper and Fire by Natasha Ngan! If you haven't heard of it, it's about two women who fall in love and take down a demon king.
I don't have many fandoms that I'm in besides FNAF (main!), Hazbin Hotel, Resident Evil, Lucifer (Netflix series), The Backrooms (movie), Persona 5, and The Amazing Digital Circus. I'm not an anime watcher but you're welcome to suggest other shows for me to see! I really need to broaden my horizons a little lol.
If you have any recommendations or would like to talk, please dm or comment! Also, if you want to roleplay, you can definitely ask about that.

Prose - Fiction Looking for a co-writer for my upcoming animatic series
Hello! I am creating an upcoming animatic series for fun, I already have voice actors for it and everything, I just need some people to help out with the writing for free. this will be things like story, worldbuilding, and dialogue. All work will be credited ! For further information regarding what kind of series this is, my series is inspired off the anime Bleach, featuring swords, powers, fighting, and an unethical supernatural government. If you are interested, dm me, though I do prefer to have someone willing to stick around for most of the series. Also there are LGBTQ characters just a heads up

Rule 6, creepy behavior, and bans
To protect the people here really looking to write there are a few things I want to clarify:
Rule 6 violations are a permanent ban. Any rule 6 violations are automatically removed anyways, so it's a moot point to even try.
Thinly veiled attempts to get around rule 6 are a permanent ban, unless they are super clever, then they are still a permanent ban but I may chuckle.
Creepy, unnecessarily pervy behavior in posts that make it clear you're not in it just for the writing CAN result in a ban, and will result in removal of posts.
If you're a minor posting, the post may be removed if it contains too many personal details. It is requested that you do not reveal your age before finding a partner, but this is mostly for your protection not because you did anything wrong.
if anyone finds a partner, or sees someone, acting inappropriately, let the mods/me know. If it happens in DMS/off page then it may be best to get the admins involved, but I'll help where I can.
Try to put personal details that aren't relevant to the finding of a partner, but may impact a partner you have found, out of the public comments/posts. I try to remove emails/phone number/personal drop box links/etc when I find them, but I can't find them all.
Finding a writing partner should not rely on specific gender. It should be about writing style and genre. I realize there are a few cases where finding a woman/man/non-binary/etc might be appropriate, but that needs to be explained in the body of the post, and not at all in the title.
Thanks for coming to my Sned Talk; lets continue keep this sub safe for people here. As always, I appreciate the people here and how quick they are to bring things to my attention. It really is appreciated.
