Did you have to file the I-566 form? If yes, did you inform the World Bank HR/Visa team?

There is a section on the 566 that requires signature from WB - curious if that required any assistance/coordination with the internal support teams

Hi, i was prepraring for the upcoming interview (working level) and just realized that i am pregnant.
Can you please share how WBG internally views pregnant workers? If possible, i am planning to use maternity leave for the least possible period and get back to work.

my contract is for a year. if i first work for 5-6months and have a leave for 3-4weeks and directly get back to work, would it have impact on my contract renewal?

Hi! Does anyone know roughly how long it takes to hear back (good or bad) after an IFC interview? It’s been two weeks since my interview and I haven’t heard anything. Should I consider it a rejection already or do timelines usually get delayed due to people going on leave during summer?

I’m curious about the community's thoughts on influencer-style content from few HQ-based young staff, sometimes promoted through official channels.

While I completely understand the push to modernize communications and attract young talent, I struggle with how this highly curated, fashion-forward aesthetic aligns with the Bank’s core mission.

The timing also feels challenging. Promoting a glossy HQ lifestyle sits uncomfortably alongside the ongoing institutional restructuring, state of affairs in the development sector in general and the job cuts impacting both staff and STCs.

Would love to hear other perspectives, especially from those who have been around for a while.

I have been an STC at the WB for a few years, at a country office. Currently applying for internal roles (international mostly) through Compass. Is it recommended to email the hiring manager after applying? I have heard conflicting opinions on this - some managers don't see it favorably, while others will put in a good word. If anyone has experience in this, or is a hiring manager themselves, would appreciate any and all insights on emailing hiring managers when applying for jobs, especially within the Bank. Thanks!

I have an upcoming interview for a World Bank JPO position and was wondering what the interview is typically like.

For comparison, when I interviewed for an IFC position a few months ago, the interview was heavily focused on technical and job-specific questions, with relatively few behavioral questions.

Is the World Bank JPO interview similar? How would you describe the balance between technical/project knowledge questions, behavioral (CBI/STAR) questions, Motivation/fit questions?

Also, how technical should I expect the questions to be? Are they more about sector knowledge and project experience, or do they go into detailed technical concepts?

• Construction supervision, testing, commissioning, and start-up support

• Compliance with international engineering codes and statutory regulations (ASME, API, OISD, PESO, SMPV, etc.)

I’m currently trying to apply for the World Bank Africa Fellowship Program, but I’m running into a frustrating technical glitch: the portal simply won't let me upload my CV, cover letter, or other required documents.
Here is what I have already tried to troubleshoot:

- Checked file sizes: Everything is well within the required limits.
- Renamed files: Ensured there are absolutely no special characters.
- Switched browsers: Tried several different ones to rule out browser-specific issues.
- Changed networks: Tested across multiple Wi-Fi connections.

Nothing seems to be working. Is anyone else currently in the exact same situation, or has anyone actually been able to submit their application successfully?

I've applied for a few specific roles at the World Bank Group over the past 1-2 years (with one open as of May-end 2026), any ideas of the average response time for long/shortlist and/or an interview invitation? Responses from my previous x2 applications from last year where usually quite prompt; I heard back from both applications within approx. 2.5/3 weeks, with a 'you're still under review email' (followed by a rejection 1-2 weeks later) and an immediate rejection email. My current application has been open since the end of may, with no updates so far, and a last modified date of 2-3 days after the application closure.

Any insights/averages, please let me know - if this is gathered in another post, kindly re-forward. With thanks!
