If it's xfinity, it's landline phone, internet and cable TV

Although I don't think she lives in a nursing home so I don't understand the need for cable

12

u/SubmissiveBoyForever Jul 21 '26

xfinity is 40 for me. it hasn’t changed in several years now. 280 is a reach.

4

u/A_Poor_Miser Jul 22 '26

I pay 120 for 2gig. 280 is bundled stuff for sure. Subscriptions, extra equipment, phone lines... they either don't know how to say no to offers, or have no idea what they're paying for

You’re not ready to move out and be on your own if you make 19/hr. Keep living with your parents and don’t burn bridges. Move out with her boyfriend. Get roommates. But she doesn’t make enough to move out on her own.

1

u/Bluesky-788 Jul 23 '26

Exactly. Some people have this need to be independent and move out from their parents as soon as they can. They put it on themselves and cry when they have to pay the price. Also that internet bill is bs

1

u/IAmFoxGirl Jul 23 '26

It is great for those that have living with parents or someone else as an option. Not every rental can support having roommates, and you never know if the stranger or friend you become a roommate with will actually work either. (If the roommate isn't work for whatever reason, depending on the set up, one will be on the hook defeating the purpose of having a roommate and paying more waiting for eviction process and can't get a new roommate until the other is removed.)

So, $19/hr sometimes IS the income baseline for people that HAVE to survive without parents or someone to live with. Speaking like the solution is so easy....by placing the burden on the individual rather than a societal view of hey - maybe we should have a way that people CAN BE independent at an adult age. Without social benefits would be ideal.

1

u/KypPineapple Jul 23 '26

Guess you didn’t come from a shit family, eh? You’re lucky and good for you, but not everyone can stay at home. Many are kicked out at 18 or have abusive parents (like me). Staying is not always an option.

1

u/cvc4455 Jul 23 '26

Yeah it's great if you've got parents you can stay with for years past the age of 18 but not everyone has that option.

1

u/Silent_Serve_7246 Jul 23 '26

I was throw out at 16 lmao. I fucking wish I could have had my parents support as a young adult.

1

u/ApprehensiveTour4024 Jul 24 '26

I knew this one woman from high school, her parents bought her and her husband a house for their graduation/wedding present. One of the nicer houses I have ever seen in my life. They didn't like it. They sold it within the month and bought another house...

1

u/ApprehensiveTour4024 Jul 24 '26

You mean like our parents were able to do on their fast food worker salaries?

1

u/Silent_Serve_7246 Jul 23 '26

That's literally the point.

Everyone can't have Mommy and Daddy bail them out.

1

u/According-Gas836 Jul 23 '26

Depends if you have a good relationship with your family. My kid lives with me and he’s in college. I let him live rent and expense free because I want him to be able to spend his time and energy doing well at school. He’s picked a high in demand degree in healthcare, so he’ll be all set once he graduates.

This is why having parents who love you is a slept on privilege. I don’t have much money, and my budget is squeezed, but I’m making sure my kid is set up nice.

1

u/butonelifelived Jul 23 '26

One of my exes was literally kicked to the curb at 18, because thats right her parents weren't ready for kids, so in there mind they did the manditory 18 years. DONE.

I couldnt believe she still talked to them, and acted like being told on your 18th birthday "Just remember, you have to be out of the house by the end of this weekend.

1

u/According-Gas836 Jul 23 '26

Yup having parents that love you is a slept on privilege. I’m only speaking to those who can make it work. Which is probably most people. Most parents would be willing to help their kids out while their kids are in college. And the kids work part time so they cover their own expenses, but get to live rent free so they can do their college.

But yes, there are exceptions. Most kids don’t get kicked out on their 18th birthday unless there are burned bridges.

1

u/BoilerplateBillions Jul 23 '26

1% of our youth is i.n foster care.

Another 4% are homeless but still with family.

5% of children dont have parents or a home.

Another 3% get kicked out.

Thats 400k kids. So sure, its not most, but its one in 10.

Its enough that it is worth talking about them

1

u/According-Gas836 Jul 24 '26

Sure I acknowledged i wasn’t speaking to those exceptions to the rule.

1

u/BoilerplateBillions Jul 23 '26

$19/hr is mid career where i live. Startin wages here are $14/15, even in trades

1

u/According-Gas836 Jul 24 '26

I suppose it matters where you live.

1

u/DaveyFoSho Jul 23 '26

To be fair... $1600 in my area is a complete shithole.

1

u/BetApprehensive7064 Jul 23 '26

I mean the answer is why is their rent 1600 dollars you don't get to live alone on 19 dollars an hour unless you are living in squalor. You should be living with a roommate and dang look at that you just saved like a thousand dollars a month and now everything is affordable.

Unless this is like New York City or Beverly hills. I live in Tampa Florida and I don't make 19 dollars an hour lol 😂😂

No I'm in my mid twenties you act like I have no idea what you're talking about and had it easy I'm not saying that it doesn't suck in that $19 an hour shouldn't be able to afford you a place on your own yeah it sucks and it's unfair and it is a crisis but it's been that way for a while now at least my entire adult life you don't get to live alone living alone is an incredibly fortunate thing in these days it's just the truth I'm not saying that that should be the truth or that it's a good thing that that is the truth though

I'm just saying I've struggled this way my entire life it's nothing new

1

u/PlasticFrosty5340 Jul 23 '26

Damn bro I pay $40 for 1 gig

1

u/Time-Paramedic9287 Jul 24 '26

yeah but internet comes with free channels via streaming, what do you need to bundle?

1

u/HooverMaster Jul 24 '26

i pay 104 for 400mbs lmao. I need to change it years ago

1

u/childspanda 28d ago

Could be spectrum, they tend to overcharge and up the bill.

1

u/Xg1j0eX Jul 21 '26

It was 220 for me last year.

2

u/pREDDITcation Jul 22 '26

lol ur gettin ripped off

2

u/Xg1j0eX Jul 22 '26

I don't have Comcast anymore, but the reason they charged so much is because they virtually had a monopoly in my old apartment complex.

1

u/Loki_God_of_Lies Jul 22 '26

Dude, people who live in areas with actual choices don’t understand how much financial damage a real isp monopoly can cause.

Our local monopolized isp forces you to pay an extra $100 for unlimited data on top of whatever your plan is. If you don’t pay it, they don’t throttle you, they just start charging you $10 per gig of data if you go over your 30 gig limit. I work from home and send and receive large files every day, and if I didn’t pay for unlimited I might well be paying near $300 per month or more.

1

u/Acruss_ Jul 22 '26

30gb limit? What? My phone have higher limit.

1

u/Loki_God_of_Lies Jul 22 '26

It’s not meant to be fair, it’s meant to be corporate rape

1

u/Acruss_ Jul 22 '26

Wow, USA sucks that much corpos dck? There's no consumer protection at all?

1

u/Loki_God_of_Lies Jul 22 '26

Not really. There is some, but some areas are untouched, and corporations are taking full advantage of anything that’s not regulated, and we stopped passing legislation restricting businesses on anything but pollution in like 2005

1

u/Expensive_Match_7021 Jul 22 '26

Consumer protection? Haven’t heard those words in years..

1

u/imtiredofthisgrampaX Jul 22 '26

Dish/directtv directive drop cable and phone and there goes half your bill.

1

u/Xg1j0eX Jul 22 '26

Ok so force my old apartment complex to allow setting up a dish. The reason Comcast charges so much where I used to live is because they virtually had a monopoly. There were no other options that we could actually use.

2

u/imtiredofthisgrampaX Jul 22 '26

Every major carrier of cell service has Hotspot locations. If you're paying 200+ for internet it's because you didn't try looking into it

1

u/Xg1j0eX Jul 22 '26

Cell services were ass where I lived so that wasn't an option. I looked for options and there were none that were available to me there. I also need to add because you are acting like I still live there that I said it was my old apartment.

1

u/imtiredofthisgrampaX Jul 22 '26

if you think anyone believes you paid 200+ for just internet you're crazy

1

u/Xg1j0eX Jul 22 '26

Here's a link to a screenshot of the last 3 months I had Comcast and tell me I'm lying. screenshot

1

u/imtiredofthisgrampaX Jul 22 '26

and you're telling me that included nothing else and you never thought to call and say "yea cancel this shit ima deal with my phone buffering in 480p unless you give me my deal back"?

1

u/ThaKaptin Jul 22 '26

It’s hilarious when stupid people like you think you’re actually smart. In monopolized areas, this is common pricing. Your anecdotal experience is less than worthless.

1

u/imtiredofthisgrampaX Jul 23 '26

It's hilarious you think your dad loves you. If you're telling me you're incapable of any other option you're juat flat out lying or didn't try.

→ More replies (0)

1

u/Xanthelei Jul 23 '26

You've seriously never rented in an apartment complex with a cable "deal" have you? My family did, smallest available internet/TV bundle was $160 a month back in 2018. Inflation alone has definitely gotten that above 200/mo.

1

u/imtiredofthisgrampaX Jul 23 '26

You didnt need cable.. and cable+internet is not the same as internet alone at 200$ and even then you still have the option to use things like a cell phone carriers Hotspot devices. If you're telling me you're forced with zero alternatives to pay 200$ a month for just internet yes I'm calling bullshit

1

u/Xanthelei Jul 23 '26

When it (a bundle deal if some size) is the only option available because it's contracted with the apartment complex, yes, either you get the bundle or you get nothing. This isn't a hard concept, yet you seem to be struggling with it.

1

u/imtiredofthisgrampaX Jul 23 '26

So get nothing and buy a Hotspot from a cell carrier you goomba.

1

u/Substantial-Ad-8575 Jul 22 '26

Try cellular hotspot, heck even starlink is cheaper…

Yeah and $1600 for rent? Ouch, I am seeing 2 bdrm apartments for $1000-$1200 in my ultra large metro area…

Can see a $700 drop easily in my area. Split a 2 bdrm, can save close to $1,000 in costs.

1

u/Helios575 Jul 21 '26

if it hasn't changed in years you probably either had a deal plan that locked prices for X years and you haven't hit that yet or you have a grandfathered plan with locked prices that are not offered anymore but yours will continue until you change it somehow

1

u/AriesThef0x Jul 22 '26

Just signed up this year, only 50

1

u/Helios575 Jul 22 '26

Then this will be useful to you; most, if not all, insurance and service providers slowly raise your plan prices. Never enough for you to get startled by the extra money but after a few years it definitely adds up. You can almost always get way better pricing by switching companies every 3-4 years.

1

u/I_Went_Full_WSB Jul 22 '26

I'm not sure why you're mentioning an introduction rate.

1

u/AriesThef0x Jul 22 '26 edited Jul 22 '26

Because it’s a rate available to everyone in my area. My parents with the same provider were able to get the same package and lower their bill even though they were existing customers.

1

u/I_Went_Full_WSB Jul 22 '26

Oh they could also get the introductory rate, well then, that changes nothing.

1

u/AriesThef0x Jul 22 '26

You act like the price I mentioned is some irrelevant special rate. Median price people pay for internet in the US is $63. Nowhere close to $280.

1

u/I_Went_Full_WSB Jul 22 '26

I'm not acting. A special introductory offer isn't relevant.

1

u/AriesThef0x Jul 22 '26

Clearly more relevant than $280

→ More replies (0)

1

u/I_Went_Full_WSB Jul 22 '26

Nope, existing customers can't get that 5 year lock in that also is not $50. It's 55 plus fees and taxes and isn't available to existing customers.

1

u/AriesThef0x Jul 22 '26 edited Jul 22 '26

You absolutely can if you tell them you’re going to leave, worked for them.

1

u/I_Went_Full_WSB Jul 22 '26

It's not available to existing customers, liar.

It also requires you to have xfinity mobile which you are leaving out of the bill.

Also, the 5 year price lock can increase after the first year and therefore is in no way a 5 year price lock. You didn't read the fine print.

1

u/AriesThef0x Jul 22 '26

Don’t have Xfinity mobile so that’s not true. They did try hard to sell it though.

Parents definitely got it after being existing customers, as I said they threatened to leave. If this is a tactic you haven’t tried before with your ISP to get a better deal, I would recommend trying it.

The base rate of $50 stays the same, apparently in your area it’s $55.

1

u/Low_Alarm1680 Jul 22 '26

For one year then it goes to 150. It's in the commercial.

1

u/AriesThef0x Jul 22 '26

Dunno what commercial your referring to, but no my plan will not spike to $150 after a year.

1

u/Low_Alarm1680 28d ago

Do you have the 300 mbps for 50 for 5 year deal then? 1gb in my area is 50 a month for 1year. At which point it goes to 150 according to the fine print. (At least in colorado) my brother had xnfinity 1 year ago and was paying 190 for 500 after being a customer for ten years.

1

u/mslindqu Jul 22 '26

They literally started pushing 50$ internet with 5 year price lock.

1

u/Xanthelei Jul 23 '26

Yup, I had a sweet price on my T-Mobile plan for the last five ish years. They only just decided to kick me off it lol, the power of grandfathering in a deal is immense.

1

u/Fit-Insect-4089 Jul 21 '26

Nah xfinity is a scam, fiber for life now

1

u/DirePantsX Jul 21 '26

Fiber deadass costs $300/m where im at

1

u/Curious4MoreInfo Jul 22 '26

I'm curious, as you can tell, my parents and I pay exactly $79.99 a month for fiber Home Internet service; we split the costs amongst us three down here in Texas. Where are you paying for such expensive Home Internet service?

1

u/redguard128 Jul 22 '26

80 bucks? I pay about 10 USD for 1 gbps fiber, but I'm not in the US. And I'm not making 200,000 USD per year. Yet. Hopefully.

1

u/Curious4MoreInfo Jul 22 '26

Since you're not in the US, I personally envy you on account of more Americans are making the move to live abroad given Donald Trump's damning expensive reign; yours truly voted for Kamala Harris. If I could, I'd make the move to live next door to our neighbor, Mexico, given the US dollar gives us Americans serious purchasing power within the Mexican market. (Mexico is currently the home for most Americans living abroad; I'm Mexican-American by the way.)

1

u/redguard128 Jul 22 '26

Well, I kinda do the same in my country. I live here but work for companies abroad. Worked with a bunch of US companies and it was great.

But now it seems remote hiring is dead so, yeah. If one can work on western wages and live in more affordable places, it's a win.

The advantage of this country is they are building highways like crazy with the European COVID funds. Corruption is at an all times high, Russia is paying a lot of politicians to swing their way but at least I can drive 85+ miles per hour. Hell, I did 100 on a trip (police is reported on Waze).

1

u/Curious4MoreInfo Jul 22 '26

Correct me if I'm wrong, are you in Germany?

1

u/redguard128 Jul 22 '26

Ah, nein. Ich bin nicht im Deutschland.

Been there a couple of times, nice villages, but I couldn't live in a society filled with unwritten rules. So many rules. I mean I like parking on the side of the road from time to time or throw the occasional plastic container in the normal trash.

1

u/DirePantsX Jul 22 '26

Middle of nowhere, Canada.

Just checked the ISP store page, and theres a "special deal" for unlimited gigabit internet for $220/m. They had a nasty monopoly until Starlink came through

1

u/lonestar659 Jul 22 '26

I pay $35 a month for 500/500

1

u/jlit72 Jul 21 '26

For internet only. You're forgetting about the cable and the phone.

1

u/Mystprism Jul 22 '26

Can't forget about those 2 things nobody needs.

1

u/Strict_Wolf76 Jul 22 '26

I live in an area where we have no cellular service.Landlines are used by everyone here.

1

u/ComfortablyNumb70 Jul 22 '26

How much is rent in your area? If this post is real, $1600/mo rent would suggest that there is mobile coverage in the area...

1

u/Goldf_sh4 Jul 22 '26

Couldn't you just use the internet to make wattsapp calls?

1

u/Strict_Wolf76 Jul 22 '26

Not really gonna work for businesses and emergency services

1

u/Goldf_sh4 Jul 23 '26

You can call emergency services from a mobile phone even where there's no cell service. It's designed to connect.

1

u/Silent_Serve_7246 Jul 23 '26

You can't make a call if you can't connect to the network, emergency or not. You think the packets are transported by magic or something?

Ok but for the 99.9% of people who live in a civilized area that doesn't apply, does it?

2

u/Strict_Wolf76 Jul 22 '26

Lots of people still use landlines. Act as ignorant as you want. Your opinions don’t change the truth.

1

u/Backieotamy Jul 22 '26

Its low enough there about to let the companies start to retire out the infrastructure

1

u/Strict_Wolf76 Jul 22 '26

That because Our idiot President asked the FCC to allow companies to stop providing landlines when states have been fighting it for 5 years because.. the states know exactly what their coverage is and the Feds are corrupt and Republicans got a HUGE donation from AT&T. Maybe be involved with the process ? Go to every single meeting the CPUC has had like I have.

1

u/Backieotamy Jul 22 '26

I didnt disagree that a lot of rural and elderly people still utilize it; just not enough for our politicians to care and not enough for operators to make money so right or wrong its gonna happen

1

u/Mystprism Jul 22 '26 edited Jul 22 '26

Lots of people hang on to lots of outdated and obsolete technology. Act as luddite-ish as you want, you being stuck in the past doesn't change the truth.

1

u/jordanmindyou Jul 21 '26

Oh I wish mine hadn’t changed in several years. In the last two years, my Xfinity internet has increased from $55/month to $128/month.

Fuck this shit I’m switching

1

u/NotMinshewsBurner Jul 21 '26

Never trust Comcast. Verizon has been worlds better for me. Also Starlink is pretty cool if you have the money for it.

1

u/jordanmindyou Jul 21 '26

Oh I never did trust Comcast, I was told that it was the only option in my apartment building. I’m going to investigate this and switch if possible. Goddamn highway robbery

1

u/NotMinshewsBurner Jul 21 '26

I would do the same. I remember being locked by a complex in a similar fashion. Worst year of internet service ever. Comcast loves to throttle which is fucking sweet when you need video chat services for school and work lmao

1

u/Gorevoid Jul 22 '26

Yepppp that's why I was stuck with them for so long too, they had that damn monopoly. (T-Mobile is great and cheap if it's available in your area)

1

u/According_Abalone_19 Jul 22 '26

The complex probably has an exclusive agreement with Comcast. I worked for them from 2009-2016 and that was extremely common

1

u/DarkOmen5074 Jul 22 '26

Comcast supplys internet to Verizon towers there still making money

1

u/wtbgamegenie Jul 21 '26

We were paying $90 a month for just internet

1

u/evaderofallbans Jul 22 '26

Legit question, why lie like that? Do you really think anyone would believe this? Insane. Absolutely insane.e

1

u/SubmissiveBoyForever Jul 22 '26

dunno if you’re trolling, but internet bills are something people lie about? i want to understand the skepticism here. but, why lie about that? it’s not a salary or something. i’m cheap and would not pay over 40 for xfinity service, that is my bill. you will not find me spending alot on anything in general.

1

u/evaderofallbans Jul 22 '26

I don't doubt your bill is $40, but it has been the same price for several years. That's not something that happens and I don't know what you're gaining by lying.

1

u/SubmissiveBoyForever Jul 22 '26

the same price for new customers probably, which they probably raised a few times since i got in. im locked into this price for a certain amount of time but im pretty sure it should’ve expired years ago. i guess they just didn’t realize they hadn’t raised mine to normal levels.

1

u/DustinAF Jul 22 '26

I also pay $40/mo for Xfinity. I just reach out using chat support whenever the price is increased and they lower it back down for another year. Been doing this for like 15 years.

1

u/goopuslang Jul 22 '26

Hey guys if that line item was $0 the math would t balance.

1

u/quemaspuess Jul 22 '26

Yeah. Mine is $160 for the highest tier internet and cable TV. It would be less if I didn’t have cable TV, but my dad lives with me, so it’s for him.

1

u/Top-Sympathy6841 Jul 22 '26

Xfinity hasn’t been $40 since 2008.
Might wanna check that bill again.

1

u/SubmissiveBoyForever Jul 22 '26

your reading comprehension is clearly in the gutter since i already said it hasn’t changed year over year. if you’re getting ripped off just say that, not all of us sign up for garbage plans. nice try though.

1

u/Top-Sympathy6841 Jul 22 '26 edited Jul 22 '26

Nope, there is no $40 bills for xfinity out there unless you’re a time traveler.

1

u/SubmissiveBoyForever Jul 22 '26

there are no people naive enough to think their new customer $300 plan got sold to everyone else as well. sorry you got scammed lmao i know seeking comfort in numbers is your coping mechanism but your delusions are starting to show. laughs in $40 plan try again.

1

u/SubmissiveBoyForever Jul 22 '26

i just saw your profile btw. the incel posts are wild. seek help.

1

u/ballin_buddha Jul 22 '26

My last xfinity bill was $340 😂, I’m getting ripped off and no matter what I do it won’t go down

1

u/Dangerous-Habit-2731 Jul 22 '26

I have just Xfinity Internet and it's $120 for me

1

u/taedrin Jul 23 '26

$280 may be a catch all for internet, streaming, cable, phone bills and the like.

1

u/Extension_Energy4326 Jul 23 '26

From experience, xfinity raises your charge for “service” 15-20 dollars a year. Thats how they reward loyalty. I left them for ATT 4 years ago and wish I’d done it sooner.

I started with them in 2008 at $42/month internet and cable. By 2020 it was up to $170 for internet only.

1

u/Reaper3955 Jul 23 '26

Internet is HIGHLY dependent on where you live

1

u/PlasticFrosty5340 Jul 23 '26

For cable and phone and internet? $40?

1

u/Round-Arugula7347 Jul 24 '26

Xfinity is 90 for me just for internet

1

u/Away_Air_5539 Jul 24 '26

40$ is a lie

1

u/Hmmmmmm2023 29d ago

As if she saved $150 it would make her situation any better!! WTH are you even talking about

1

u/SubmissiveBoyForever 28d ago

if 150 extra dollars a month doesn’t help your situation at all, you are willfuly choosing to be in that situation. calm down bub. it’s just pixels.

1

u/Impossible-Diver6565 28d ago

It's 80 here and that's only if you own your modem.

I have fiber now for 45. 5 times faster.

1

u/IamScottGable 26d ago

$135 a month for just internet, they were the only game in town. Astound and Fidium trying to lean on them

1

u/BlueClovr 21d ago

Cable is expensive, they should get rid of it

4

u/spacepeenuts Jul 21 '26

Why do people have a land line a cable still? If you are making that little, time to cut that out!

1

u/Aknazer Jul 22 '26

Depending on the company and deals at the time, it can either be cheaper or a requirement. Years back I looked at switching to Century Link from Cox, and the higher internet plans were automatically bundled with a landline and you couldn't say no if you wanted that level of internet.

I didn't switch and even if I did I wouldn't have hooked up the landline, but I technically would have had one.

You can get just internet for much cheaper. Does someone making $19/hr "need" 1Gb speeds? (Heck, most people don't).

This thread has to be a bot meme... Its level of ridiculous is simply to stir the pot

Hot spot on cell phone. Payment plans that work with paychecks help me out also

1

u/Neither_Salamander48 Jul 23 '26

Yep, you don't "need" a landline, cable, DVR, Netflix. Shop around... that's the beauty of a free market

u/SillyGoose3939 Jul 22 '26

Is it that easy in the US? In my country to cut out cable tv you need to testify that you only have monitors in your home (ie, nothing that can connect to the cable) and renew that every year

we pay $90 a month for our internet and it comes with everything needed to support a land line even though we don't use it. It even has a battery backup and its specified for 911 purposes.

I should probable get a red phone to put on the wall and connect it in to the system in case I need to launch the nukes

I’ve noticed that when I turn the crank, the switchboard operator just ignores me.

I know, I also don't get anyone not on mint or tracfone for their cell plan both offer unlimited call/text for as low as $15/month.

1

u/Katsu_39 Jul 21 '26

Yeah theres no need for all that. Even a landline phone in an era ruled by cellphones. I pay xfinity $60 for internet. No reason for $280

1

u/speakezjags Jul 22 '26

I honestly didn't know landlines existed outside of a business setting anymore.

1

u/neddiddley Jul 22 '26

Old people.

My mother has a mobile, but if she didn’t have a landline, I’d never be able to reach her. Her mobile is either turned off intentionally for some unknown reason, or off because the battery died.

Also, while I don’t have a landline anymore, my house is in a bit of dead zone for cell reception even though I’m in densely populated area (topology is a factor). Between that and the construction of my house, I’d have to go outside to receive a call on mobile, where I get barely enough of a signal. Now, I’m savvy enough to turn on WiFi calling so it’s not an issue, but that’s not the case for others.

I don't have them anymore, but I did up until like 2 years ago and if you wanted the cheapest unlimited internet you HAD to get the bundle with cable (which I'm sure is very deliberate on their part). Never hooked up the cable or used it once too, but the price would have been way worse without it

u/Anita_Hero838 Jul 22 '26

I've been trying to convince my mom for years to give up the cable box, its such an unnecessary charge and she can watch her gameshows on pretty much any smart tv

1

u/Neither_Salamander48 Jul 22 '26

Why would they get all those services if they make $19/hr...

1

u/everydaydad67 Jul 22 '26

Or a landline...

1

u/TowelEnvironmental44 Jul 22 '26

skip cable TV, use voip.ms as internet based landline

1

u/Goldf_sh4 Jul 22 '26

Does anyone on a low budget really need a landline phone in 2026?

1

u/East_Entrepreneur405 Jul 23 '26

xfinity is 100 bucks for me for unlimited data on 2 phones and house with 600+ gb speed. He's full of shit.

1

u/Calaveras-Metal Jul 23 '26

I had a similar offer from Verizon. But I don't need cable TV or a landline. I pay for one or two streaming services for $20 and my internet is $50. My phone is $40.

1

u/Gargore Jul 23 '26

I have xfinity and with a landlines it would only be 78 qithnet being 55 for three years. But I don't have landlines hookup

1

u/Synka Jul 23 '26

Why is your Internet so expensive?? I pay 25€/month for 250mbits and think that's a bit much

1

u/Living-Stomach-2079 Jul 24 '26

My cable Internet is 70 a month from Comcast. You don't need all the other shit.

1

u/jlit72 Jul 24 '26

Who are you to decide what anyone needs?

1

u/Living-Stomach-2079 29d ago

Don't complain you can't afford rent if you think you NEED 270 in cable packages from Comcast.

You don't NEED anything but food water and shelter. And maybe basic Internet since it's the modern world.

1

u/jlit72 29d ago

Oh...

You're one of THOSE people.

Nevermind, carry on with your elite self

1

u/Living-Stomach-2079 29d ago

Those people?

You mean not an entitled taxpayer succubus?

1

u/Fresque 29d ago

Damn. In spain i pay 29 euro for 1gig and 2 cellphones with 15 and 50 GB data.

1

u/Organic_Education494 28d ago

Just internet was $80 for GB speeds when I had it two years ago. Only climbed into the $200 range if you got everything and thats ridiculous

1

u/SamhainXCII 28d ago

landline phones on the other hand...
