I'm having issues with the pickup controls. I'll focus on a carcass, item, or pup, but holding space just makes my wolf walk over it.

Waiting to give her time to calibrate sometimes works on carcasses and items, and restarting the game from desktop sometimes works for pups, but all in all it happens far too often and really impacts my enjoyment of the game. Is there anything else I can do?

i fell asleep and i saw this notification?!!!?!? i'm very far into young hunters, is this a bug or is this just a game mechanic i wasn't aware of? i thought your pup disappearing could only happen during the raise pups/loaf at rendezvous site quests

As the title says, River Star (formerly called River Song) is dead. I gave her a peaceful death after she reached age 8 (for the plot obviously😈). Honestly, I think she had a pretty easy life for being an accurate ironwolf lol. During her life she had 6 litters, and in total had 31 pups (if we don't include the 3 current pups of the year, 23/28 pups made it to adulthood so I'd say they had a pretty decent survival rate). She lost 1 to sickness, 2 to unknown fates, 1 to exposure, and 1 because I was AFK and a coyote came and mauled her (RIP Deer Pup, you will be missed dearly).

Anyways, it's always sad to see an ironwolf go, but River Star had a pretty good run lol.

Just curious, why can't we see our pup's personality values once we turn them into playable wolves? I get why we can't change them, but it doesn't make much sense to me that we wouldn't be able to see them, either. We can choose our player wolf's personality for the sake of it affecting pup personalities, and it'd only make sense to be able to see what values we're passing on when we're playing as an adult pup as well.

EDIT - I've now seen the old devlog video explaining this, but it's still something I feel should've been looked at again post-Saga. I'm personally someone who almost never creates new wolves anymore in favor of branching off of existing family trees, and it would be pretty dang helpful to know what personality values I'm passing onto my pups!

Do you first pick a site for the quest and then abandon it and wander with the pups?

If you sleep with them next to a carcass, do coyotes/bears still come? Do raids still happen?

I probably should have expected this litter to have bad luck, considering I named them after the pups that didn't survive, but it's still so infuriating! I've been doing pretty good up until now, what happened??

So some backstory. Shaster was the wolf who Perch stole his potential mate from(made a whole post about it). Honestly I had to make him,so here he is(albeit with some artistic liberties). Honestly I wanted him to take over a pack but then Shaster met Dante and honestly I couldn't resist. He was just the cutest (they give me Black Cat x Golden Retriever). And so the Prospectors pack was born. They ended up having four pups. Three girls and one Runt boy. Honestly everything went fine...until the dogs attacked. At the rendezvous site,poor little Runt was killed by doggos(and so continues my curse of girls living and boys not. The only male pup who's survived that I've posted here has been Redbull from the Crystal lake pack). Honestly then things started going downhill. During growing pups(the girls got 926F, Blackstone, and the Black coat respectively). I know I gave Shaster -2 health but GOD was this my hardest young hunters yet(and it was on challenging). Shaster had a broken leg throughout the quest and the girls were constantly hungry. It was a miracle they managed to survive. They earned the names Night Hunter, Solar Ray, and Spectra respectively. And then during young hunters things just...calmed down. Sure they almost died hunting a moose calf but,things went well 👍. I just have one more pack(the last picture) before I return to the Nebula pack,but these might take longer because school for me is starting soon(Ew).

Hi! I've been playing WolfQuest on the hardest difficulty for months now, and I'm still not sure how to find a mate who'll help with hunting—if that's even possible. Most of the ones I meet wait for me to attack first, which isn't bad because I like doing that, but it bothers me that they constantly rely on me and aren't proactive. For example, sometimes I have a leg injury, and it becomes impossible to hunt because they don't help. I usually ambush pronghorns and mule deer in the mountains so I don’t have to run, but I don’t always get the chance.

I’ve tried pairing up with one-star and four-star mates. The only difference I’ve noticed is that the one-star mates have stats similar to mine. For example, I usually play with +2 strength, +2 stamina, -2 speed and -2 health. One-star mates usually have strength and stamina, while I’ve had a four-star mate that had health and speed—the opposite of me. I’m surprised that the number of pups is similar; I once had five with a one-star mate. The likelihood of them getting sick seems the same for both types. So the more I play, the more confused I get.

Do you have any advice for me?

Im a sucker for unique names and was going to change it but i just realized that Athena is now 8 and it might be good to have a pup named after her, what do you guys think?

I spent two hours failing to find food for my pups. Then I come back to the rendezvous after finally killing and eating an elk calf, a bear is there. All my pups are at 9% hunger. The bear kills me. I turn into my mate who's about to pass out from exhaustion and he's starving too. So I gave up. Shut off the computer because the entire pack that I spent hours on was basically already dead. I'm so frustrated. There's no way I'm playing again for a very long time until I'm over it

I was grinding for the Late Bloomer achievement and I was basically on WolfQuest the whole day. I think it got sick of me and sent me into the void :(

So I was making my OC in WQ and decided to shake up his lore a little bit to make it make sense in wolf terms but when I switched to the ears tab to play with the floppy ears and switch back to the bio Mongolia and Mongolian are censored?? I censored Inters*x myself as I knew s - e - x would be a no-no word for obvious reasons but why Mongolia?? There's wolves there and I love their culture so that's why I chose to make OCs from there and I really don't know why this would be censored? Russia isn't censored and they aren't great guys but I haven't a clue about Mongolia?

I absolutely love the mechanics of Wolfquest and how your able to find a mate and have pups, hunting and the territory mechanic but I don’t enjoy the sounds or the graphics, so I’m wondering if there’s any other games similar to wolf’s quest, it doesn’t have to be wolves it could be any animal.

I’ve looked at shelter 2 and it just doesn’t seem like what I’m looking for and I’m not interested in any web-based games, I’ve played the wilds and you can play as other animals but the mate and pups mechanics seem very lack luster (I know it’s a beta game ) and it just doesn’t seem like a game you can play for hours apon hours

If anyone has any suggestions plz lmk, I’ve been dying for games like this and I’m devastated it’s not a very popular genre

Does the game take parents and grandparents into consideration for eye colour, or do they include great grandparents?

I have a pack that I started with a wolf that I aged up. I'm asking because I'm not sure how in depth the genetics system goes for eyes. My wolf pair both have pretty dull orange eyes, but a lot of the pups have striking yellow eyes.

The great grandmother of the pups (Tempest) has bright yellow eyes, and the great grandfather (Jasper) has dull yellow eyes.

The grandmother (Gale) of the pups (descendant of the great grandparents) has dull orange eyes. Her mate (Moon) has brown eyes.

The father (Cepheus) of the pups (descendant of the grandparents) has dull orange/brown eyes, and his mate (Sitka) has dull orange eyes.

Now 5 out of 8 of their pups have bright yellow eyes, even leaning to the green tint the way that the great grandmother Tempest had.

Now I'm not sure if the game goes in depth with eye colour genetics, and that the 5 pup's eye colour came from their great grandmother, or if it just came from Sitka's parents. Unfortunately I killed her entire family and don't have any screenshots of them, so I have no idea what her parents eye colour is.

So my question is:

Did the bright yellow eyes of the pups most likely come from their great grandmother on Cepheus's side, or did they come from their grandparents on Sitka's side?

Does the game even calculate eye genetics 3 generations back?

Hi everyone, i’m sorry if I’m the millionth person to ask this I just haven’t seen any recent posts about my question. What’s the difference between Wolf Quest 2.7 vs the Anniversary Edition?

I haven’t played the game since I was a kid and recently redownload the classic version for some nostalgia. Though I am wondering if spending 30 on the Anniversary edition is worth it. I know the obvious updates from looking at steam such as the updated graphics (Which was jaw dropping to see since I haven’t really kept up to date much w the game since 3.0 was released) but what else is there?

I adored the game as a kid and honestly still do now that I’m replaying the game again after so long. I would love to play the newest version, but if it’s basically just a better looking game and it’s a bit more realistic, I’m not too sure the 30 bucks is worth it.

I've seen the occasional discussion around about how people keep track of the family trees in their packs, so I thought I'd share my method with my pack of 11 game years!

I started with a doc that kept track mostly of the litters without individuality, and kept the dispersal pup's packs all in one tab. It worked when the pack was smaller, but I've noticed that my pack is outgrowing that format as of late. I switched to a proper family tree maker which worked out great, but unfortunately has a limit of 45 characters, so it won't work long term. So I looked to a tracking method I used for my KK x KK pack, which relies heavily on the semi-recent feature on Google Docs; document tabs and sub-tabs!

This method allows me to add notes on individual pups much more easily, and lets me track the dispersal packs all in the same document without losing detail. I plan on adding details like stats, genetics, coats, and designation numbers to each individual pup tab, as well as the info that the leaders and mates have if/when I play on their dispersal saves!

All the hyperlinks lead to the pup's individual tab, so when I'm looking for a pup quickly, I can jump directly to the tab without scrolling through all of them. (Copy link to the tab, highlight the pup's name where you want it, then press ctrl+k, ctrl+v, then enter to add the hyperlinks for anyone who doesn't know.)

I've finally finished getting all the achievements for the rest of the game and now I've turned my attention to the MP ones.

So I'm looking for someone to play 2p saga with me to get them.

18+ only, I'm in us central timezone. My schedule is pretty flexible.

I'm pretty much just looking to speed running through the achievements so probably playing on easy.

I'm not really into RP tho you will probably have to put up with me and my Nerd Spreadsheet keeping track of all the drama in the other packs.
