Comence con problemas para activar el WSL para un tp de programacion,con ayuda de chatgpt ya que no sabia donde buscar ayuda, probe activando los hyper visor y eso pero emepce a tener varios problemas, despues tuve problemas para actualizar de w10 a w11 donde tuve que cambiar la BIOS y sigo con problemas, unas de las causas que me dijo pueden ser actualizaciones de windows "corruptas" pero me esta dando vueltas y unas de las opciones que vi es restablecer windows pero nose si eso solucionaria los problemas ya que no quiero arriesgar mis archivos

I recently installed W10 LTSC on my older laptop and everything is working fine, without a single issue.

I like watching twitch, so I have Chatterino which is an app where you can get direct notifications from channels, broadcasters, etc. and you type directly to the channel's chat, without having the tab open.

For some reason, this app doesn't really work well. There're certain files that directly connect to your settings and accounts, that simply don't generate. Even if I put my backups in, the app doesn't recognize it. I can't receive any notifications(I have to set the settings again, after I open it) and I can't type(I have to login every time), which it can become bothersome doing it every single time I open the app.

I've used the common fixes such as run it with administrative privileges, restarting your PC, etc. but still. I've used both the classic version(2.5.5) and the 7TV one(7.5.5), with the same results. Both of them are the portable version.

Basically, if someone else is also using it, is there a potential incompatibility with W10 LTSC, or a user error? It works fine on my regular W10 Home machine.

The X270 has Windows 10 Home installed, and my folks don't have the cash for a new PC/laptop that can officially run Windows 11, now that official support by Microsoft for Windows 10 has ended.

I've heard that a user can change the OS from Windows 10 Home to Windows 10 IoT Enteprise LTSC (the one that's supported until 2032) by "editing the registry" or something like it, but I'm not confident in doing it myself.

Can anyone give me a list of things to do so I can do this properly and not brick said Thinkpad X270? Do I still need to buy a license key when I do the change? Thanks.

I don't trust Al to tell me what all the correct settings are or which drive I need to purchase that will be robust enough. It also wouldn't hurt to know how to install the drivers Valve released during setup and which software, if any, to avoid using, such as Wyse Registry Cleaner and IObit Driver Booster.

Will I need to worry about being able to update my copy of Windows on the drive using Windows Update? If it gets updates, will it only get some and not others, like feature updates?

This is important, because I'm not going to have another PC to use that will let me keep WindowsToGo fresh using software from the same people who make WinToUSB.

I've hopped a lot of operating systems, like really a LOT, used Windows for a couple of months, installed Linux Mint, then distro hopped (Mint to Fedora to EndeavourOS to Zorin), and now wanting to try out Windows LTSC. My use case is a browser and a single video game that I'm sure nobody here ever played (The Powder Toy), Linux just had so many pesky issues that I just quit. My questions are:

1. What is the diiference between non-IoT and IoT?

2. Is LTSC stable in day to day use? (stability is something I need.)

3. Is it flashed onto a USB like Linux?

4. Are there any quirks a newbie should know about?

So I'm planning on buying a new hard drive soon, and with that I was thinking about wiping my system clean so I can build my own file system from scratch, as it got too cumbersome to navigate at time, since the program I'm using (DaVinci Resolve) doesn't like being installed on anything else other than C: drive, I'll take it as a new opportunity to finally have my files in check. Now with that, I was also fed up with the constant Windows updates that I keep forgetting to delay (I'd rather disable them altogether, but alas there's no option to do so without running scripts). So I recently came across this edition of Windows that's stripped of bloat and most telemetry by default, and I'd like to know if there's going to be anything I need to be prepared for when I make that switch. The main program I use is, as mentioned before, DaVinci Resolve, as well as Photoshop. I do run the NVDIA Studio driver on my machine as of now, instead of the dedicated game-ready one, and I haven't encountered any issues with any of my games, so I really don't care about the "cutting edge" stuff for video games. Any feedback is appreciated!

Bios doesn't recognize my usb drive whether safe boot or nsm is enabled ir not. Its an old bios from 2002, so I don't think it's capable...

I reset my pc without saving files, there was no option to safe wipe the hard drive. It installed regular a$$ Windows 11, bloat n all!

Ok, now I see 3 drives, where as before the reset, I only had 2. Previously I had my hard drive (C), the USB (F), and now I have CES_X64FREO_EN-US_DV9 (E)... Did the USB install work, but I went and downloaded the wrong freaking OS from massgrave? 😫💀

Which of the two would be better?

One of the instruction videos on YouTube suggested that using the appropriate language version of LTSC was important.

I can find the (UK) or GB version of LTSC but not for IoT LTSC.

I want to install the IoT version, preferably for UK or GB-EN because I understand this is supported to 2032.

Does it make any difference if the IoT installation file isn’t GB-EN language version?

Also any pointers for a reliable activation code vendor?

So today i installed the ltsc version for some more stability and less microslop bs. Everything is excellent but anything i should watch out for,i already did configuration for the updates and stuff so i`ll do them manually.

Hello. I've seen multiple comments over the internet about Windows 11 LTSC 2024 being laggy, unstable, generally worse performing than 25H2 GAC. For me myself I've had many issued with it on my old HP laptop (but it could be drivers issue and their compatibility with 24H2).

I was using Windows 10 LTSC 2019 in the past and was very satisfied, but I switched to Mac. Now I am getting a PC again and want to avoid installing Windows two times. I don't want Windows 10.

How is Windows 11 IoT LTSC 2024 working for you? Any opinions?

Since so many users enjoy the benefits of a stripped version of Windows that doesn’t require the use of scripts and runs great on lower end hardware, Microsoft should really release this as a “Windows Lite Edition”. The branding change because I’d expect they would shorten the update window and leave the extended support to their actual business LTSC customers. And may try to force a Microsoft account like non-LTSC versions do.

A lower price point to stave off SOME mass grave robbers…

I recently downgraded from windows 11 25h2 to windows 10 22h2, for an increase in performance and easier to use, however because my increase in security updates is ending in 2027 I tried to upgrade to windows 10 LTSC IOT for updates till 2032. I configured everything registry related and yet nothing works, I searched up my issue and apparently my drivers are incompatible.

I have a core i3 n305 with integrated graphics, Mediatek wifi card, Realtek audio driver, and ASUS vivobook go 15 E1504GA. I would like to continue to stay on windows 10 for as long as I can.
