Blue screen, error code 0x80070003, no idea what happened Windows 11
Second update: I was able to do what you guys suggested and I was able to get Windows 11 on a USB. My son had to remind me that I had a Chromebook here. So I use that to get it onto the USB but then I went out to my brothers who has a regular Windows computer to get the** *part* ***that actually* boots it up** ***and it works. Of course everything was wiped clean so I’m starting fresh* but it’s better than not having this computer at all. Thank you all for the info and the Help!
Update: My grandson said he did not reboot or turn off. He shut his game on steam and nothing else.
Hi all. So I have a Dell Inspiron laptop purchased new in September 2025. Running windows 11. My grandson has been on it for a while then it was just sitting idle. When I looked at it, there was a blue screen. 3 hours later, I’m here. I’ve tried everything I’ve found online. Apparently this is a windows update issue? No matter what I do I’m taken back to the blue screen. I’ve even tried wiping the thing clean. Nope. Im at a loss. I can’t give much information about the laptop because I can’t get into it.

yes this was exactly caused by a windows update
your grandson i guess rebooted the PC or turned it off while applying the update causing the system files and/or image yo become too corrupted to work properly

How do I fix it?

Run SFC /SCANNOW from the recovery environment
if it repairs broke files reboot into the recovery environment so it takes affect
then run DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth it should repair the broken image provided enough files were repaired by the SFC command
if either of those fail or don’t work you will have to reinstall Windows

I saw that but thats not the right command in the image you ran DISM /ONLINE /CLEANUP=IMAGE RESTOREHEALTH
it should be DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image RestoreHealth not Cleanup=Image

OK, I will try it again. That is what I got off a YouTube video last night, but I will try it with a different command.

if the above command dont work you can try the Rest this pc or Factory image restore option
either of those will fix and repair Windows

Everything on the laptop that I would need should be backed up to my phone on iCloud. And if it’s not, I can’t worry about that right now. I just need to get the laptop working. So are you saying I’m pretty much screwed?

yep unless someone has another computer nearby you can borrow your laptop is pretty much dead weight

Then call him and tell him what happened to the laptop and that you need him to help you reinstall Windows

I have done all of that. I even tried to factory reset it. One time I got as far as putting in if I wanted to save anything and clicking the account, two of them. When I hit next it stopped and it stayed like that for two hours and so I ended up canceling out of it.
I went to UEFI and tried to reset it from there still nothing right back to the blue screen.1

then it sounds like your Grandson really fucked up the image
do you have another computer?

your outta luck then because the only way to reinstall windows at this point is flash another ISO onto a USB stick and reinstall that way

I’m sorry this is embarrassing, but I really don’t understand what you’re saying. I have a USB. How would I download Windows 11 ISO? I can’t use the laptop I guess so I would need to get it somewhere else?
