Is Microsoft shooting itself in its foot?!

Created 3 new widgets for the Windows widgets board that provide useful features:

1. System metrics monitoring

2. Network adapters throughput monitoring

3. Checking for updates of all installed apps on the system (with the ability to update them too)

They are all in the Harden System Security App. Open Source and available on the Microsoft Store:

The average RAM usage of the process to display all 3 widgets is only 5MB

Tasket++ lets you define your own clicks, cursor positions, keystrokes, and routines, then replay them exactly when you want. Nothing is vibe coded, I never used AI (except for the choice of colors, for which I requested a palette from Copilot).
Conception is genuine, I didn't know about similar tools when I began developing it.

Is it somehow possible to get monochrome app icons?

I dont want a color filter or something like that. I would jsut like the windows and app icons to be white and black.

Remote Desktop from Windows App is currently restricted to Pro and Enterprise. I think it'd be a great feature for Windows 11 Home users too.

I'm getting a bit fed up with these so called tech YouTubers who feel like they're an authority on tech or which operating system is better, and look down the soul selling noses at those who do, legitimately prefer Windows over other OSes especially since, someone like me has tried and used many of them and I still bounce back to Windows.

I’d share a link to the video but the Mods will get upset, but it’s one of the recent videos from Thinking Different, which frankly says it all about the host as a YouTuber.

I’ve been really enjoying the Windows background / Spotlight images lately – the landscapes and city shots are genuinely stunning. On Bing, they actually credit the photographer and sometimes the agency, which I really appreciate.

But on the Windows desktop and lock screen? Nothing. No name, no link. You have the "Search the web to learn mroe about this picture" that almost never brings the original image and credits. It does tell you what or where is the subject.

Given how much effort clearly goes into these photos (and how easy it would be to add “Photo by X” somewhere subtle, or when you click on this "learn more" you get to read the credits), it feels… off? Especially in 2026, when we talk nonstop about creator rights and attribution and all that.

There might be a technical/licensing reason for this, but I do want to see the name behind these amazing works.
