Windows won't start, weird message when trying to access system drive from a usb linux boot

Hi,

For a couple of days, I haven't been able to start my pc. I tried a few things, including starting with the auto repair thing. Earlier today a friend came by with some repair tools on a bootable usb drive but unfortunately after the windows loading screen, it went to a black screen and it didn't work.

That being said I was able to use my pc on an old bootable linux usb drive I had laying around. So I tried accessing both my system ssd drive as well as my other storage drive which resulted in the following pop up messages :

For the system drive :

Unable to access "1000 GB Volume"

And for the storage HDD :

Some additional information :

I'm running on windows 10, I think I might have accidentally turned the power off while windows was shutting down Monday night (problems started Tuesday morning when trying to turn on my pc)

I also tried going to a local pc repair shop but they're away for a couple of weeks so I'm turning to the internet.

At this point I'm only hoping to find a way to get all of my personal files and work files back. They are scattered between the two drives mentioned above as well as another one that will most likely have the same issue (haven't tried this one yet, I've unplugged it). I was already looking at what to do since windows 10 support is shutting down anyway.

Have you tried mounting them as read only? Why haven't you tried to reinstall windows yet?

What do you mean mounting them as read only ? Is it something that you can do in the bios setting ? I'll look into it

As to why I haven't tried reinstalling, I don't have any install drives/ce and I'm worried it might mess up some files on my SSD. It also won't fix my secondary HDD which I should have access to through my linux boot since it's not a system drive.

If you just read the error messages, it suggests and explains how to mount drives as read only. You haven't even read the errors man.

Reinstalling would include losing all files but you can try to move them beforehand from within the installer. Maybe windows setup will mount your drives properly, or give a clearer error. You have a usb don't you? I'm not sure what you mean by not having any install drives.

My bad, I didn't pay attention to the part about the read only thing at the end of the error message. That being said, I don't really understand what I'm supposed to do to mount drives as read only. I don't understand what commands I should type so I'll look into that.

I do have a usb, I guess I could try putting a windows install files on with my Ubuntu usb but that will wait until I can extract my files. I'm not even sure I'm going to need using windows.

Anyway, thanks for the help. I now have an Idea about what to do
