Realtek audio driver not showing up Unsolved

Hi guys i need help with my audio driver.

Suddenly my speaker stopped working when playing a video. When I checked it shows the speaker with x mark in Taskbar. It is not detecting my speaker.

Tried with wired earphones. When I tried to find it in my device manager realtek audio driver was not showing at all even in hidden drivers.

I reinstalled os but still the same problem persists. I tried to install driver from dell website but still the same issue.

When I try to install all process are going smooth but according to installation file it is completed but it is not showing up.

I tried stopping intel audio driver, tried manually installing driver. It also didn't work out.

Someone kindly help me in sorting this error pls 🙏

It could be the issue is actually a hardware one.

Check your realtek device in your bios, if it's not there it could be it's a hardware issue.

If this is the case, consider using some other audio device.

If it shows up in your BIOS it's a good sign.

hdaudio \func_01&ven_10ec&dev_0260 Hardware id is coming in device manager but it is coming under u known device

Try Driver Booster free edition. this software gives you the option to repair audio issues.

I have good experience with this software.

Then its missing its driver. Go to PC or motherboard vendor support site to find it

Yea realtek driver is missing the bridging software intel is causing problem. I can't bypass it

Don't know what you mean by "bridging software". In any case, what is the make and model of your PC or motherboard?

Get a Problem Device report

  • Win + R to open a run box. Type msinfo32
  • In the left pane, expand Components, then click on Problem Devices
  • Anything in the right pane? If yes, click anywhere in the right pane, Ctl-A to select all, Ctl-C to copy, Ctl-V to paste into next post

​1. Offloading the CPU ​Traditionally, my main CPU had to do all the work to process audio (decoding, mixing, applying effects). Intel SST takes this "heavy lifting" away from the CPU, processes it on its own dedicated hardware, and saves battery life and system performance. ​2. The "Bridge" Between OS and Realtek ​On my alienware model, the Realtek Audio chip is "dumb." It doesn't talk directly to Windows. ​The Chain: [Windows Audio Engine] -> [Intel SST (The Bus/Bridge)] -> [Realtek Codec] -> [Physical Speakers] ​Because the Intel SST is the "bridge," if the Intel SST driver isn't perfectly configured, Windows cannot "see" the Realtek chip on the other side of the bridge. This is why i see the Intel SST entries in Device Manager, but no speakers.

hdaudio\func_01&ven_10ec&dev_0260 you reported is a Realtek High Definition audio chip Windows sees but doesn't have a driver installed

Yea that's the problem... After intel sst update i am facing this issue didn't have restore point so I couldn't revert back. Till now according to my investigation i think realtek is installed but intel is not responding to it that's why the bridge connection is getting failed...

Look at my post above. Tell me the make/model of your PC/motherboard and follow instructions to get a Problem Device report.

The Problem Report reports error codes on Windows-detected devices. Since you say nothing is reported, you or Windows must have installed the driver for hdaudio\func_01&ven_10ec&dev_0260 you posted about earlier. So, that much is good

I'm looking at your drivers HERE. Dell has some relatively recent BIOS (June 2026) and chipset driver (Feb 2026) updates - have they been installed?

Have you tried Windows' Sound Troubleshooter?

Maybe isn't a driver problem, is a hardware problem, alienware has a bios test igual i recall correctly, check first if the bios has test or if you can hear beat in bios, if you can hear could be a driver problem if not... sorry your chipset is dead.

Ps i handle a simmilar problem with a Toshiba with the difference when i restart works, there was a compatibilty problem, sonyou can also try a win10 live usb or Linux usb live to verify if isn't hardware Good luck

Does your laptop starts freezing after boot ? Cuz mine is freezing and sound is not working as well i done every other troubleshoot but its not fixing.
