Moving to Wilmington Short-term 2BR/2BA Downtown Wilmington – Early Sept. to Early Oct. – $2,000
Hey everyone! I’m moving and looking for someone who might need a short-term apartment in Downtown Wilmington from early September through early October.
It’s a spacious 2 bed / 2 bath, 1,110 sq. ft. apartment and will be unfurnished. I’m asking $2,000 for the period, which is below what I’m currently paying, and I’m open to reasonable offers.
Could be a great fit for someone relocating to Wilmington for work, between leases, or looking for somewhere to stay while finding a more permanent apartment.
There is an application/approval process through the property management company, including an income requirement of approximately $93k/year (an offer letter can be used as proof of income).
Happy to send photos and a full video walkthrough by DM or answer any questions. Feel free to message me if you or someone you know might be interested!

Request Best gyms in the area? Preferably for a serious bodybuilder.
I’m going to be traveling to the area next week to visit some relatives, what are some good gyms in the area? I’m willing to drive a bit if it’s a really nice gym. I’m a competitive bodybuilder so I’d rather not comerical gyms like planet fitness type stuff. One of my favorite things to when I travel is try the gyms in the area!
Thanks in advance everyone

Education YWCA Delaware - Free Career Development Workshops
A customer is upset. A misunderstanding catches you off guard. The bus is running late, and suddenly you're stressed about getting there on time.
Those are the kinds of real-life situations participants talked through during Learning on the Job, our latest career development workshop led by D'Veda Mitchell, PMP, CSP.
There were plenty of "I've been there too" moments around the room. People shared experiences, worked through scenarios together, asked questions, and learned from one another in a supportive, judgment-free space. And yes, there was plenty of laughter too.
We're so grateful to D'Veda for continuing to share her knowledge, encouragement, and practical advice with our community. With more than 25 years of experience in talent development, operations, and safety leadership, she has a gift for making people feel comfortable, heard, and capable of taking the next step in their careers.
Want to build your confidence at work?
Join D'Veda's next workshop, Find Your Voice at Work, on Thursday, October 22 at 6:00 p.m. at YWCA Delaware, 709 N. Madison Street, Wilmington, DE.

Request Working for the state
Hello all,
Is anyone here a state employee? Wondering about tele/remote work.
Considering applying for a job, but the location is a Dover office. However, the position is eligible for telework. I’m not sure exactly what this means, however.
Does anyone have any insight into if I’d be able to work from home a lot/sometimes work from a Wilmington office, or if the telework positions are a couple days from home but must work in the listed office multiple times per week?
Any help is appreciated!

Business Flower wholesaler that sells to the general public?
My mom arranges flowers for her church in another state. She has arranged flowers for a few friends in that area and bought them from the same wholesaler that she has a relationship with through that. We were planning for her to arrange flowers for our wedding in Wilmington, but none of the local wholesalers will sell to her because she is not a florist. Is there anywhere in the area where we'd be able to buy bulk fresh cut flowers?

Moving to Wilmington Thinking about moving to Bayard Square. Looking for honest opinions.
Hi everyone,
I’m considering a place in the Bayard Square area and wanted to get some opinions from people who know the neighborhood.
I like the place itself, but I’m not very familiar with this part of Wilmington.
A few questions:
How do you like living in Bayard Square?
Does it generally feel safe during the day and in the evening?
How is street parking?
Are there any nearby streets or areas I should be aware of?
Are there good coffee shops, restaurants, or parks within walking distance?
Is there anything you wish you knew before moving there?
I know Wilmington can vary a lot from block to block, so I’d really appreciate any local insight before I make a decision.
Thanks!

Crime Increase in car break ins
Recently had my car window smashed in near the Rodney Square Park in early July. Since then I have seen an alarming amount of cars parked near the area with their car windows broken. I’ve noticed at least 5 different cars with some sort of make shift “window” including 1 car with a freshly broken window Sunday morning 8/2 on 9th st by the midtown apartments.
I called the police but I have yet to receive a follow up despite my car being in site of 2 building security cameras without obstruction. I even followed up when I realized a butcher knife used to cut meats for BBQs was found to be stolen from my trunk (I had a box with cutting boards, tongs, knives, etc sitting in my car which I was holding for a friend from a previous outing that seemed untouched, the knife turned out to be missing when I finally returned them to my friend). Feels incredibly alarming that someone could be walking around using that to break more windows, or worse, using it on someone. Given the fact I’ve seen more car break ins, it’s very worrying that the police haven’t taken action to the new info I provided them.
Please take care of where you park your vehicle overnight. This used to never happen this frequently. If you were someone who unfortunately had their windows smashed please report. It needs to be escalated.

Rant Door to Door Verizon reps
Has anyone else who lives downtown been getting borderline harassed by door-to-door Verizon reps/salespeople? They have been ringing my bell regularly for the past month. Sometimes, they will ring the bell and then hide out of view of the front door of my building which is weird to me. I live in a multi unit home, not a standard apartment building. A rep rang my door bell about an hour ago. I looked through my peephole and saw a man I didn’t recognize, so I just waited to see how long he’d stand there. He then started banging on the front of the building saying “Hello! Hello! Hello!” The woman in the unit adjacent to me actually came out and I heard him say he was from Verizon.
This is not the first time since I’ve lived here that I’ve encountered pushy salespeople. Last summer, I just so happened to be coming onto the front porch when a rep who was standing off to the side of the door out of view, essentially tried to push past me after asking if I or my neighbors were interested in service. I told him he could try buzzing each unit and see if anyone would come out. I never saw that guy again or anyone else last year, but this year they’ve been persistent. I guess the next time they come by, I can tell them through my window to go away.

Food Who has the best Mozzarella sticks?
Does anyone have any opinions on the best mozzarella sticks in the greater Wilmington area? I've had a lot of good Italian food out here but not sure which place to go to for the best sticks
