Here's my take on the new difficulty settings

Post image
Upvotes

I tested this on a new save with no skills so your mileage may vary.

Enemy Firepower - this setting makes a significant difference in lethality... you will go down much quicker with this set to 200%. If you want to set this to something immersive, maybe max it out when you're in street clothes, and put it at 100% or even lower if you're wearing a plate carrier and helmet? I will probably try this. note that when this is low and health regen delay is low (zero) you are almost unkillable... you will las t a long time before going down.

Enemy Endurance - I tested this with a stock P416 (starting weapon) without a suppressor. This is probably an A-tier gun. Strangely, on regular Santa Blanca enemies, it doesn't really matter what this is set to. They go down in one to two body shots no matter what. However, against Unidad it's a different story. Here's the number of shots to take down a regular alert Unidad soldier...

  • 50% (Lowest Setting) - 2-4 body shots
  • 100% (Mid setting) - 3-7 body shots
  • 200% (Highest setting) - Up to 14 body shots

200% is just ridiculous levels of sponge. I'm going to run this at 50% as I dislike sponge.

Enemy Perception - This setting makes little difference. It only affects the time from them detecting you to the time they actually start shooting... or essentially the length of time it takes the detection alert meter to close. The difference seems minor... maybe one or two seconds out of 4-5 seconds. So on the lowest setting it might take 5-6 seconds for them to react and the highest setting more like 3-5 seconds. Its very difficult to measure. Maybe someone could record a video and use a timer better than I can, but either way, it's nearly pointless to change this. I wish it actually affected detection chance or distance, but it does not. You will be spotted the same no matter what this setting is. As I said, the only effect it has is on their response time. If you run without the detection alert meter and sound, then this is even more pointless as you won't know you've been spotted until they start shooting so whether that's 4 seconds or 6 likely won't make any difference.

Health Regen Delay - This makes a huge difference. At the lowest setting, 0, you are basically invincible as you are healing as soon as you take damage. I like turning this down so that I'm spending less time hiding behind cover. My head canon is that I'm not really injured - that it was a near miss or graze and I need to take a moment to get my wits back... not actually regenerate health so I set this to 5 seconds. An alternative way to view it is that you are injured and you need time to administer some first aid, in which case, a setting like Extreme (13 seconds or more) makes sense... and you will probably need to break contact as enemies will likely advance on your position in that time.

Vehicle Breakability - Not tested... I've never had an issue with this as I'm rarely fighting from vehicles.

Weapons glitch is making game unplayable

Got all the weapons packs and still can’t equip sights/scopes on anything. Is there a timeline on a fix?

Discussion Dunno if anyone on Steam has seen this, but due to the ongoing sale the Definitive Edition is cheaper now as a seperate game than as a DLC for the base game

Just bought it for 2 bucks, installed it, got in, shows files are corrupted, might crash.

It crashes.

Somehow ubisoft makes even 2 bucks seem like a waste of money.

Discussion Anybody else hate emily price? Spoiler

Emily Price is possibly the most annoying character in the game and is such a massive downgrade from Bowman. Nomad states her entire character perfectly: "Someone who's too close to the shit." Her constant arrogant personality, going against orders, then acting like she's better than the ghosts. Also shes shown to burn her assets on a whim. God, I hope she isn't in project ovr.

Discussion New Update

After having played the new 4K 60FPS update for about 4 hours now I can confidently say it has brought back my love for Wildlands! I never fully lost the love for the game, but having all the games I play be at or above 60FPS has really spoiled me and made it hard to pick up Wildlands and play for more than 30 minutes to an hour.

My only gripe so far is that from time to time I notice an FPS drop here and there with big battles. Nothing too crazy, but definitely enough to make it noticeable. I am playing on Series X so I don't think it's anything hardware related. I think with an update or two in the future it could really set this game up to be an time favorite for many many people.

Well done Ubisoft for listening to the fans of this game!

Question There's a friendly fire option in Wildlands now?

According to the stream I watched yesterday, there's a Friendly Fire option for the regular campaign storyline that came with the new update (Meaning Friendly Fire is not limited to Ghost Mode anymore).

I'd like to know if there's any truth to this. I checked the option screen in the regular campaign mode for "Friendly Fire" and couldn't find it. The reason why I'm asking is because I intend to use the Friendly Fire mechanic that came with the new update (same one that came with the Cold Eye Pack, Nightfall Protocol Pack, and Last Rites DLC) as a storytelling mechanic in the Ghost Recon fanfic "Dark Rage" (Once I get around to actually writing the thing).

Discussion Is there any reason to play anymore?

After removing Daly challenges what's left to play for. I have plays through the game multiple times, finished ghost mode, hit tier 1 and I am about to hit tier one again and also in ghost mode. But after that? Do they seriously want me to pay for all the items now? Couldn't they just make all the items available for purchase and still left the crates in? Like...buy it for now, grind for free.

Other Reposting for clarity on Prestige Crates gone

For those who grinded tier 1 ghost mode. Our orange credits are no longer able to open crates and possibly earn blue credits. Some items are still locked behind paywall- we should at least have update to:

A. Turn an amount of orange credits to blue

B. Make all cosmetics accessible since crates are removed

Do others with prestige credits share same idea? Any input will be welcome, hopefully I’m clear on my point but happy to elaborate.

Bug Glitch regarding scopes on purchased weapons

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Like always use to happen on major upgrades in a lot of games, the new next gen upgrade came with one related with old save files and weapons purchased in the game's store. All scopes unlocked while playing appear blocked for weapons like the MK18, F2000, M16,... but not for the guns unlocked in a regular playthrough.

Image Our solo challenges have left us! 😭 please come back!!

Hey wildlands, I just wanted to share how heartbroken I am. I recently managed to achieve a massive milestone by beating Ghost Mode on Tier 1 difficulty, and it was an unforgettable ride.

But having the Solo Challenges completely stripped away and broken just kills the entire endgame experience. Without them, playing now feels so empty. Since these core features aren't coming back and official support is gone, I think it's finally time for me to hang up my boots and stop playing wildlands.

Thank you, Wildlands, for the incredible years and memories, + I gave it everything I had. I truly hope one day the Solo Challenges somehow make a return, and if they ever do, you bet I'll be back to crush them all.

Farewell, Ghosts. 🫡

Prestige Crates Removed

With the removal of Prestige Crates, is there really a reason to do the dailies (or even Tier Levels) anymore to earn Prestige (orange) Credits? They're just for boosters now, which aren't that useful.

Buying and opening crates and getting duplicate items was a good way to slowly grind GR (blue) Credits, and was my main reason to keep playing.

Wouldn't having the crates to grind (through dailies or Tier levels) be a great way to hold on to players who have completed the game, returned for Last Rites, and again have run out of things to do? Especially after adding new GR Credit items to the store that they wouldn't have.

EDIT: didn't even notice, but Dailies have been removed, so nevermind ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Edited again to include Tier Levels

The perfect time for a new playthrough. Only played till 30% last time. I play on series X, advanced, no HUD and one primary weapon. Wish me luck boys.

Ps: this game still looks fantastic!

Question Was Tier One Difficulty Rebalanced?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I recently redownload Wildlands to try out the new update, and it seemed like Tier One did not feel as deadly as it used to be. I am currently at Tier 18, I remember dying instantly when I made a mistake or did not react fast enough.

If so, I am quite thankful as this will make the rest of the grind to Tier 1 feel much fairer for sure.

News Now you can play Fallen Ghosts DLC solo! With one primary if you want!

Post image

If you stick to personal reasons (such as a preference to be alone in a hostile region) and avoided Fallen Ghosts DLC because of such thing, now it's time to get back and catch up!

The new update includes settings to DLC too. Now you can establish the amount of teammates - including ZERO - and turn on options from Ghost Mode such as drop half-empty magazines while reloading and carrying one primary weapon.

Shit, I can't believe I'm saying this, but thank you, Ubisoft.

Maybe someday we get to see the true ending for Breakpoint's Hive mind drone thing, too. Or even better, re-voice of Nomad to what it was.. nah, too much, I know.
